Select a small business in your local community (Trophy Awards – Northern Kentucky). All of your Individual Projects in the class will be focused on this business, choose carefully. You are an account executive for a local advertising agency, and this will be your new client. You will be developing an IMC program for this business over the next five weeks.

The first step in the IMC program is to conduct a situation analysis which focuses on the internal and external factors that influence or are relevant to the development of the promotional program.

Part 1: Situation Analysis (Internal Analysis)

Research the company (in person interview, Web sources, etc.)

• Current positioning in the market

Part 2: Competition

Research the Competition. Select at least three competitive products/companies

This section of the paper should be 2 pages in length and uses research from the companies’ Web sites, local news media and interviews. You may also conduct a focus group if you wish. An interview will not appear on the reference.

Part 3: Marketing Environment

Research the marketing environment and identify possible opportunities and/or threats that can affect your promotional program. Analyze why.

• Demographic
• Economic
• Technological
• Social/Cultural

Do not copy tables of data from sources. If you wish to provide data in tables, create specific ones from the data you have researched. This section of the paper should be 2 pages in length and uses research from a variety of sources including local media, Census data from American Fact Finder.

Most measures of business performance are internal financial measures, such ROI, ROA, and cost per unit. Measures of marketing performance are external measures that consider customer perception and competitor position. Business and marketing performance measures can paint very different pictures.

Part 1: Researching Marketing Performance Metrics

Using mainly articles from the library’s full-text databases, research the measures of marketing performance. You may rely on general research in the area or focus on an industry that is related to your career. Complete the following:

• Discuss 3 measures of marketing performance.
• Analyze the metrics that are used to evaluate the measures.
• Provide a case study of a company that exemplifies the best practices of each measure.

Part 2: Researching Net Marketing Contribution Over the Life Cycle

Using mainly articles from the library’s full-text databases, apply these concepts to the real world. This section must address the following:

• Present 2 marketing strategies, and analyze how they can affect the net marketing contribution in the short-term.
• Analyze net marketing contribution in the introductory stage.
• Analyze net marketing contribution in the late-growth stage.

This section of the paper should be 3 pages in length and use research from the library’s full-text databases and other quality college-level resources.

Write a 2-3 pages essay about your selected individual that discusses the following points and uses at least one quote and one paraphrase from your AIU Library located source(s).  Be sure to use citations and aligned references:

1)    Example of paraphrasing someone else’s words:

Brown (2009)argued that consumption of chocolate is crucial for students who are practicing academic honesty.

Notice that in example 1, the author (Brown) is a grammatical part of the sentence. In this case, the lack of quotation marks indicates that the writer is paraphrasing Brown.

2)    The definitive study(Williams, 1999) established the positive impact of chocolate on thecerebral cortex of college students, enhancing the ability to accurately identify and use academic honesty practices”(p. 32).

In example 2, the writer is quoting directly from Williams, which is why there are quotation marks around Williams’ original language. Because it is directly quoted, the writer also provides a page number where readers can find the quote.

The date is also provided in both examples to help readers locate the source in the library.

Use these examples as models for your own uses of outside sources in this essay. Once you have used a source citation within the document, be sure to provide the rest of the source information at the end of your document. This is necessary so that the reader can locate the source you are citing in case there is an interest in following up on the topic. The following are format examples:

For a book resource:

Book found on the Internet:

The system of federalism was instituted with the writing and authorization of the Constitution in 1787. In dividing power between states and the national government, federalism has undergone challenges to the placement of power. Should power reside primarily in national or in state government? The Civil War was the most dramatic challenge to the placement of power. Southern states argued, under the leadership of John C. Calhoun, that states’ power superseded national power, while northern states, under the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln, stressed the need for union under the leadership and direction of the national government.

In the more than two hundred years since the Constitution’s adoption, there have been many changes to the meaning of federalism, with power shifting between state and national governments. In the twentieth century, the shifts of power became largely associated with the national government’s ability to provide increased funding sources. Bob and Lisa are both married, working adults. They both plan for retirement and consider the $2,000 annual contribution a must.

First, consider Lisa’s savings. She began working at age 20 and began making an annual contribution of $2,000 at the first of the year beginning with her first year. She makes 13 contributions.
