Choose from the following essays: “Se habla Espanol” by Barrientos; “Facing poverty with a rich girl’s habits” by Kim; “On becoming a writer” by Baker; “Farm girl” by Hemauer

Write a one and one-half to two (1½ – 2) page summary paper in which you:

Identify the source (writer and title of essay) and state his or her most important point in your own words.
Summarize the other main points and their supporting details in separate paragraphs.
Discuss the (1) writer’s purpose, (2) genre, (3) audience, and (4) tone (attitude),
Describe your emotional response to the essay.
Use quotations, paraphrase, and summary correctly.

Write a research paper about Emmy Noether, she is a mathematic.

This paper should include her biographical infromation as well as a description of her mathematical accomplishments.

The paper should be double-spaced with a font size of 12 and should be 3 pages long plus an additional works cited page.

Assignment 2: LASA 2—Conflict Management Report

The workplace can be an especially stressful environment. Personal conflicts between coworkers, fear of layoffs, and heavy workloads can be causes of negative stress. This stress can be carried to our homes and after-work activities, impacting personal health. Allowing these stressors to build and intensify will only further impair the work environment. For this assignment, you are required to review a scenario regarding a woman (Kate) who has experienced negative stress stemming from her work environment. Then, you will compare your own conflict management skills and experiences against Kate’s experiences. Follow the directions below to write an 8–10-page report on conflict management.

Review the following scenario:

Kate has been employed by a well-known manufacturing company for 12 years. She is the only female on her line and the fastest worker. She has been promoted several times through mergers and acquisitions, but has always been looked over for a senior management position. Kate believes she is qualified for advancement but thinks her manager has a problem with her personally. To top it off, Kate did not receive a semiannual or annual review, which would have resulted in a raise. Her coworkers (all males) have urged her to go to management and report what she believes to be discriminatory behavior from her immediate manager.

Now, complete the following tasks:

Review “Anytown Historical Timeline.” Notice there are missing details for some very significant events since the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. All of these events impacted the development of the field of emergency management, some to a lesser extent than you might imagine. For example, it would be reasonable to assume that the bombings of the World Trade Center in 1993 and the Murrah Federal Building in 1995 drastically impacted preparedness at locations agreed upon to be likely targets for terrorist attacks. If that were the case; however, significant questions should arise about persistent vulnerabilities exposed by later terrorist attacks. Likewise, though the United States has faced numerous devastating natural disasters over the past century, as was made evident in “Hurricane Katrina: A Nation Still Unprepared,” our experiences have not necessarily translated into improved preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery practices. It is your job to investigate some tough questions about the state of emergency management in the nation and complete the following two-part assignment:

Part 1:

Research the events and laws on the timeline since 1993 that are missing details. For each of the seven points:

Investigate what impact these events and legislation had on preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery in the United States.
Summarize the impacts in the description fields on your own timeline.
Include the development of key practices, laws, standards, agencies, organizations, and systems related to these events in your descriptions where appropriate.

Transformational Change Management Plan

You will create an entire Transformational Change Management Plan for a medium-sized public company that has lost business to a competitor that has chosen

to outsource much of its production operations. The company has been based in a small Midwestern town, it is one of the largest employers, and it has an

excellent reputation for employee welfare. It is now planning to do the very same offshoring, which will involve large lay-offs of long-term employees.

Part 1: Primary Research and Text Application

Find a consumer who is extremely loyal to a brand-name product. The person can be a family member, friend, classmate, or other. Probe him or her for information as to why that brand loyalty exists. Discuss how the individual feels about competitive brands.

Analyze the interview using the brand equity and brand positioning concepts from your text.

This section of the paper should be at least 2 pages in length.
