This week’s paper provides an opportunity for you to reflect on how you or your organization recognizes individual or team contributions. The final two commitments of exemplary leadership are: recognize contributions by showing appreciation for individual excellence, and celebrate the values and victories by creating a spirit of community.

Write a short paper addressing how individual excellence is appreciated by you and/or your organization. You can speak to some of your colleagues to find out what encouragements are most meaningful to them. How do they want to be recognized? As a leader, what would you do to encourage the heart of your team? How would you recognize success and the efforts of your team? How do you reinforce core values and culture?
