In an argumentative essay, define borders however you see fit, whether they be geographical, cultural, or even conceptual as a whole, and express how they affect us and the world around us.

How Do Borders Affect Us?
Background: According to Deiner and Hagen, authors of A Very Bordered World, they write that borders are not natural phenomena; they exist in the world only to the extent that humans regard them as meaningful (Cucinella 16). Furthermore, borders can exist in many meaningful patterns; even Richard Rodriquez has created borders between concepts such as private and public life, religion and the secular world, and even the majority and minority. Truly, borders are what we make of them, but how do we go about doing this? How do we even define borders?
In this second unit, we will begin to study formal argumentation, including ethos, pathos, logos, fallacies, and alternative forms of argument. We are going to explore and analyze your own definition of borders in order to create our own professional definition argument.
In short, define it, and then argue for or against this particular definition (Note: You can argue for either side, but never answer with the expression, It depends. This is never a clear argument.)!
