Consider body paragraph structure as discussed in class make sure you are leading into your quotes smoothly by presenting the context of the quote (this is where brief description is okay).

Introduction
Remember to create a funnel-shaped introduction begin broad and finish focused.
Begin your essay with an attention-grabbing sentence. Ideally, this sentence will be one that touches on some sort of universal truth or understanding captivate your reader by establishing a common ground.
Introduce the poem you will be writing about. Introduce the title, author, and offer a brief description (2-3 sentences).
Include a thesis statement at the end of your introduction, which identifies and states clearly the three poetic devices you will be exploring, and how these allow the writer to explore subject and make a statement about this subject (theme). Body Paragraphs
Introduce each body paragraph with a topic sentence that focuses on one of your supporting examples and reinforces the argument you have made in your thesis.
Explain or demonstrate how this supporting example is integral to your argument. Always consider HOW & WHY.
Remember to make sure you are logically relating your argument to your thesis.
Be sure to conclude each body paragraph by tying up any loose ends and reinforcing the point you have been making throughout the paragraph with a focused concluding sentence.Conclusion
Your conclusion should be pyramid-shaped (opposite to the introduction). Begin with the focus (continued from your body paragraphs) and end with something thought-provoking or by touching on the universal significance of the issue.
