Please write a 2-page thought paper (New Times Roman type, 12-point font, 1 inch margins, all text double spaced, and pages stapled together). Write your name and student number at the top of your first page. No title pages please.
Your paper is due on Wednesday December 5 at the beginning of class. Papers handed in later than 2:01 pm in class will be considered late and penalized 25% per day until Thursday December 6 at 2:01 pm, at which point it will be penalized the full 100%. All late papers can be submitted by slipping them under Dr. Marjanovics office door (CS 235) or by giving them to him at the end of class. Dr. Marjanovic will not accept papers handed-in anywhere else (e.g., the hall) or any other time (e.g., in the middle of one of my lectures). Emailed papers will not be accepted.
These are chapters 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, or 16. Your job is to elaborate on why the chapter topic is personally relevant to you, i.e., explain why it applies to you. Your reasoning or examples must be concrete, not abstract. You should not say it is important just because or because it is important to people or to all humanity or some nonsense like that. I want you to write about why it is important to you because of some specific reason. Keep the reasoning light. That is, please no stories about victimization, oppression, or about you witnessing a murder or anything overly dramatic. I cry too easily.
It is important that in your paper you to demonstrate that you read the chapter and are knowledgeable about at least some of the material it presents. Do this by writing about some of the specifics in the chapter, like famous scientists, or concepts, or definitions. I want to see some proof you actually read and know the materials.
