Foster community engagement and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure efficiency of presence and optimal impact of project work. Represent the CIN and its projects by participating in and presenting project results at local and national meetings with research staff, community partners and funders. (55%) Participate in department strategic planning for long and short term goals. Help to develop and implement CIN policies and procedures to ensure the center meets its strategic goals. Coordinate projects and monitor implementation. Develop and maintain a quarterly timeline/workplan reporting deadlines, deliverables and responsibilities for all CIN projects, to aid in timely discussions of progress toward goals. (15%) Manage marketing and communications for the CIN. Develop promotional and communications materials. Format reports using knowledge of report presentation, design and data visualization. Develop newsletters, maintain and update website and disseminate communications electronically. Collaborate with university marketing and communications staff as appropriate. (15%) Manage CIN administrative tasks in conjunction with department and school administrators including, drafting grant proposals as requested; providing preliminary project budgets for proposals and informing administrators of changes in effort. Gather all necessary materials for requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and grant proposals to be reviewed and input by department and school administrators. (10%) Provide administrative support to the Foundations of Community Building Program, a yearlong certificate program. Plan, coordinate and manage five separate training events and monthly learning circles for program participants. May participate in program content and/or curriculum development. (5%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform other duties as assigned. ( CONTACTS Department: Ongoing contact with Community Innovation Network faculty, staff and partners and regular contact with staff, students and faculty at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences to coordinate workflow and ensure CIN project activities and staff comply with center, department and university procedures and requirements. University: Moderate contact with university staff to facilitate communication, coordinate work flow and manage CIN events. External: Frequent contact with external constituents, community members, organizations and stakeholders to foster community engagement, assist in successful completion of projects and represent and promote CIN and its programs. Students: Frequent contact with student field placement interns and student employees to direct work and support daily operations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY No staff supervision. Supervise project interns working at CIN. Ensure timely and efficient coordination of all CIN activities. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 3 or more years of related experience in a social science, education or public policy research environment. Experience required in one or more of the following areas: project management, community-based research or community engagement. Education/Licensing: Bachelors degree required. REQUIRED SKILLS Demonstrable experience with research design, database management, statistical analysis and report writing for public distribution is preferred. Ability to work independently and shift quickly from project to project. Highly organized with strong computing skills. Ability to use Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and SPSS or another statistical package. Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate with various individuals from a broad spectrum of disciplines, technician and educational backgrounds within the department, school and university, and with individuals outside the university. Ability to relate effectively to diverse cultures and populations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to shift oral and written communication in accordance with the audience. Ability to actively learn and learn quickly, with an understanding of the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making. Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment with team members and students. Experience with a variety of social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors and customers face to face. Ability to meet consistent attendance. WORKING CONDITIONS Challenging and fast-paced university research environment. May occasionally be required to attend evening and weekend meetings.
