Case conceptualization should be of a fictional client using 3 steps involved in trauma care and treatment. The case conceptualization (as with the intervention) starts with an understanding of the client’s presenting concerns from the perspective of the client. Step 1: Listening and Observing. Step 2: Developing a framework of understanding. Step 3: Assessment and Intervention. I will attach all files in here to explain further. I wanted to use a fictional client named Toby Sanders, 30 years old who comes from a working class Jewish household. She has self esteem issues and insecurities and anxiety stemming from her father leaving her family and starting a new one, then signing over adoption papers for her to her mother’s new husband. She has abandonment issues and codependency issues. She also experienced the sudden death of her fiance, Ian, which triggered her trauma. Her mother Lillian had narcissistic traits and is vain and focused on outside appearances, which Toby begins to emulate in her own life. She has an older sister, Eileen who rebelled against Lillian and also bullied Toby who was a very shy child. She grew up in a hostile household with her mother and father fighting very often. She puts on a facade of confidence which masks her insecurities and sense of inferiority. She is dependent on men.
