To what extent do managers need to have experience in accounting and with financial statements?

Accounting is often described as the language of business. To what extent do managers need to have experience in accounting and with financial statements? Who uses accounting information in a business, and in what ways is it used? Include scenarios and scholarly research to support your conclusions. Cite your sources using APA style. Learning accounting is like learning a foreign language. Financial and Managerial Accounting
There are two distinct areas of accounting. Financial accounting is geared toward external users such as investors, creditors, customers, and suppliers. This information is presented to them through financial statements at periodic times throughout the year. The data is general to the business as a whole. Financial accounting is historical in nature, focusing on past results of the business. There are specific rules called generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) that govern financial accounting transactions.
On the other hand, managerial accounting is geared toward internal users such as business owners. This data tends to be very detailed and may include information about specific products and segments of the business. Managerial accounting is forward-looking and often includes estimates and projections. This course studies financial accounting only.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Many different types of users, including stockholders, creditors, and regulators, will make important decisions based on the information contained in financial statements. Thus, there must be reliability and consistency in the data. This is achieved through the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). These principles and standards are developed primarily by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). These rules make sure that all companies record business transactions in the same manner so that the financial statements of different companies are comparable. In addition, international accounting standards are being developed to achieve the same consistency on a global level.Book used is Financial Accounting: Harrison, Horngren and Thomas, 10th edition, Pearson.
