Calculate the daily availability, performance, quality and OEE figures (state any assumptions made).

Background: The company manufactures a range of specialist radiator and heat exchangers. A Key component of all products is the metallic core tubing. Every product range contains these items. The company produces these tubes on a single machine. Due to the criticality of this equipment it is important to increase its effectiveness. The process itself entails two raw material types, depending on product (brass or tin). Reels of raw material are loaded to the rear, and fed through the machine. The raw material is then folded, welded and cut to the required length, so producing the finished component. Current situation: The company has designed a data collection chart and instructed operators to collect data. Currently there is one weeks worth of data collected. No corrective action has been taken. All breaks are covered (the machine is planned to run continuously) The shift starts at 8am and finishes at 4pm A set-up is defined as a change of material or cutters (or both) Speed is recorded digitally and reported as an average over the shift. The tasks: 2 Pareto analyse the losses and make brief recommendations for improvements. (Bonus marks may be awarded for working out what the Shift M/C speed column really indicates, if anything). Deadline date 21st October 2018 Marking scheme: Statement of Assumptions – 20% OEE calculations 48% Tested hypothesis for “Shift speed” 2% Explanation of Pareto Principal (not copied from Wikipedia) 10% Pareto chart(s) 15% Brief set of recommendations 5%

Culture, Class, and Inequality Explain mechanisms of social class reproduction by providing an example and applying sociological concepts such as values, norms (mores and folkways), structure, agency, habitus, and cultural capital.

1) Ethnocentrism and Cultural Relativism We value cultural relativism and try not to be ethnocentric. However, cultural relativism has been also criticized. Should we consider cultures that do not value gender equality or practice child prostitution as morally equivalent to those that do not? How would you approach those cultures? Do you still try to practice cultural relativism? 2) Culture and Mass Media Provide one detailed example of the influence that mass media can have on a culture’s attitudes and behaviors. Your example can be based on U.S. mass media or international mass media. 4) Culture Inconsistency Provide an example of cultural inconsistency between ideal culture and real culture in the U.S. Think about cultural inconsistency in the following fields: the family, higher education, consumer culture, the workplace, gender relations, and race relations.

Define the three macroeconomic variables (inflation, unemployment, growth) and comment on their trends according to your graph.

Macroeconomics Project GuidelinesChoose one country to investigate. Then find data (quarterly or annual) for three major macroeconomic variables (inflation, unemployment, growth) for your chosen country. (Hint: IMF, World Bank, and National Statistical Agencies are good sources). You have to present your statistics by using excel graphs, and you should MAKE your own graphs, you will not get any points for graphs copied and pasted from internet. Then, by using the aforementioned data, you need to come up with some economic policy recommendations for two of the following: monetary policy, fiscal policy or growth policy. There is not one correct answer, but you need to be able to justify your chosen policies in an understandable manner, with the use of economic theory. Here are some hints: 1.Before you make your recommendation, you might want to compare your country with other countries (maybe with the World average). This will help you to understand whether the inflation or unemployment is too high, or growth is too low in your country. 2.Make sure that your recommendations are consistent! It does not make much sense if you recommend decreasing government spending for fiscal policy and then suggesting increasing it for the growth policy. 3.Not doing anything is also an option. As we will learn later, it is called non-activist approach. However, you need to convince me that this is a viable option. 4.While making a recommendation for the monetary policy, try to remember the effects of money on nominal and real variables in the short-run and in the long-run. Also make sure that you find out whether your country uses open market operations, discount loans or reserve requirements as a monetary policy tool. 5.While making a recommendation for the fiscal policy, try to remember the short-run and long-run effects of government spending and taxes. You might also want to check whether your country has a budget deficit or surplus, as it does not make much sense to advise a country with a huge deficit to increase spending. 6.While making a recommendation for the growth policy, it might be wise to remember the determinants of productivity (K/L, H/L, N/L and A) and then find data on government spending on education and research (as a percentage of GDP), saving/investment as a percentage of GDP) as well as trade openness (imports+ exports as a percentage of GDP) and to compare these statistics with similar countries as well as Western countries. This will give you an indication in which areas your country needs a significant change. 7.All sources have to be clearly documented (data and information).8.The assignment will be submitted on the blackboard via safe assign.9. 700 to 800 words

Explain the trolley problem, as you understand the thought experiment.

First, must read Chapters 48 & 49 (pages 446 to 452). These two short selections by contemporary American philosopher Judith Jarvis Thomson address various forms the Trolley Problem.( see attachment) Second, need to listen to the following NPR podcast (available for free): http://www.radiolab.org/story/driverless-dilemma/assess the relationship of the classic philosophical conundrum of the trolley problem to this new technological puzzle. It should address some or all of the following questions in a meaningful way:2.Explain in detail the theory of utilitarianism. How does the trolley problem relate to the theory of utilitarianism?3.How do driverless cars present a unique version of the trolley problem?4.Do driverless cars and the trolley problem reflect an updated version of a classic problem or a new and dangerous space for this problem as it relates to technology?5.How do you think that technology may present new moral problems? How should we solve these kinds of problems?

What I need are the first two chapters, as outlined below. Much of the work has already been completed, but it needs to be greatly expanded (the lit review in particular) and tightened up so that it all flows together a bit better. There also needs to be a table of contents. Style is APA. I will upload other relevant files and completed work. Chapter 1 – Introduction (12 -15 pages) The introductory chapter generally includes the following key sections: Need for the Study, Statement of the Problem, Purpose of the Study, Delimitations, and Definitions of Key Terms. Chapter 2 – Review of Literature (25 – 40 pages) In the Review of Literature, the candidate should summarize and synthesize the peer-reviewed literature relevant to the topic area of the dissertation. Findings from existing studies should not be merely reported; they should be compared and contrasted when appropriate.
