Keep in mind your introduction will need an attention-getter, the text you are working from, and your thesis statement (this is what you are arguing). This paper will have a persuasive tone because you are trying to convince someone that your view is valid. Keep in mind that there is no right or wrong, but valid and invalid. You want to present an argument that is believable and well supported with evidence. Also, remember to use the text as evidence and incorporate an article from the library database to help support your point. Remember to quote the passages exactly as the author states them, and do not misrepresent what the author might be trying to say. Poems to choose from:OPTION 1 You may pick any of these outside poems.
Chocolate and Our Moral ResponsibilityIntroductionThe basic elements of ethical reasoning include the preeminence of reason, supporting moral judgments with good reasons, the principle of universalizability, and the principle of impartiality. This assignment aims to evaluate your ability to implement the philosophical theories covered in the text and in class in order to analyze a practical problem/question.You are to write a 1,400 to 1,800-word response to the prompt below. The paper must be in a standard academic format such as MLA or Chicago. Your grade will be significantly based on the quality of your analysis and the accuracy of your application of the relevant ethical theories. Dark Side of Chocolate
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNpwIzeyjKQ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.Analyze Explain and implement at least two different ethical theories to examine consumers morally required response to dominant labor practices involved in the production of chocolate.
PromptThen, respond to the prompt below by implementing two of the following ethical theories from class readings: Kants categorical imperative, Utilitarianism (Act and/or Rule), or Care Ethics. You may draw on and must cite relevant readings and lecture notes.According to each specified moral theory, how are individual U.S. chocolate consumers morally obligated to respond to these practices? What, if anything, does morality require U.S. chocolate consumers to do given the practices documented in the assigned readings and viewings?Important Note/ Tips for Analysis:A thorough and accurate analysis will discuss the facts of the situation and may well consider what morality requires of chocolate manufacturers and cacao farmers. Yet be sure to note that the fundamental question you are required to answer is not so much what morality requires of the industry; but rather, what does morality, as indicated in your application of each of two ethical theories, require of individual consumers? Discussion of the moral responsibility of the industry is related to this question, but do not lose sight of the focus on consumer responsibility.
Take your reader through each step of your thought process; explain the theory, scrutinize the facts using this lens, and then tell your reader what you see. Explain your thinking.
Do not provide simplistic one-sentence verdicts about what each theory determines on a given issue. Instead walk the reader through the thought process of applying the theory.
Strong papers additionally consider alternative applications of the theory and why those applications seem incorrect to you.
Mistakes to AvoidIntroductions that present the problem without providing a clear and specific thesis (i.e., a thoughtful answer to the fundamental question of this prompt)
Failure to include in-text citations.
Application of theory without sufficiently explaining the theory being applied.
Failure to explain how key ethical concepts result in an asserted conclusion. In other words, students sometimes fail to explain how theory x leads to conclusion y. Be explicit in your argumentation; walk us through your thought process.
Thesis addresses the wrongness/rightness of the chocolate industrys conduct but does not answer the question fundamental to this prompt: what is the moral responsibility of the consumer?
Essay Format Option(Original) Title Note: Not the word title! Be creative and come up with your own unique title.Introduction and ThesisBriefly summarize the objective or your paper (to consider the problem/prompt) and, most importantly, directly state the position you will be arguing (the result of your inquirythe conclusion(s) you have come to). Background on (Chocolate Production) ProblemProvide a one to two paragraph background on chocolate production and labor practices as reported on in the materials provided to you.(Ethical Theory name) AnalysisUtilizing the first of your two ethical theories, here you are to begin to examine the moral obligation American consumers have to respond to the problem of chocolate production. In what way are we obligated to act when viewing the problem through the lens of Utilitarianism, the categorical imperative, or Care Ethics?(Ethical Theory name) AnalysisNow proceed to examine the problem from the perspective of an alternative ethical framework.Integrated AnalysisAt this point you should integrate the analysis of the two previous sections. Perhaps it will be the case that your examination of the problem from two different perspectives produces different conclusions. Conversely, it may be the case that both ethical frameworks produce the same conclusion(s). In any case, this section should contain a consideration of the similarities and/or differences of each of the two ethical theories view on the problem at hand.Given your above analysis, conclude by definitively stating your considered opinion (reasoned judgment) on the question at hand.Breaking it DownStep 1: What’s going on with children in the chocolate industry? (Background paragraph)
Step 2: Explain one of your ethical theories: What is it? What are the main ideas? And what would someone viewing the above problem from this perspective have to say about the problem? What would their interpretation of the facts be, and what would their response to the key prompt question(s) be?
Step 3: Follow step two using a second ethical theory.
Step 4: Take a step back and look at the conclusions reached in step two and three. Are they the same?
Step 5: Write your introduction, introducing the issue and what you’ve determined; then write your conclusion, summarizing your paper.
Academic Paper FormatStudents grade will be substantially based on academic writing assignments. These papers must be written in MLA format (Purdues MLA formatting and style guide (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.) or Chicago Style Author-Date (Parenthetical) System (http://www.lib.umd.edu/ues/guides/citing-chicago-ad (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.). Assignment: Creating a Flowchart
Workflow analysis aims to determine workflow patterns that maximize the effective use of resources and minimize activities that do not add value. There are a variety of tools that can be used to analyze the workflow of processes and clarify potential avenues for eliminating waste. Flowcharts are a basic and commonly used workflow analysis method that can help highlight areas in need of streamlining.
In this Assignment, you select a common event that occurs regularly in your organization and create a flowchart representing the workflow. You analyze the process you have diagrammed and propose changes for improvement.
To prepare:
Consider how you would design a flowchart to represent the current workflow.
Consider what metrics you would use to determine the effectiveness of the current workflow and identify areas of waste.
To complete:
Write a 3- to 5-page paper which includes the following:
Create a simple flowchart of the activity you selected. (Review the Sample Workflow of Answering a Telephone in an Office document found in this weeks Learning Resources for an example.)
Next, in your paper:
Explain the process you have diagrammed.
For each step or decision point in the process, identify the following:
Who does this step? (It can be several people.)
What technology is used?
What policies and rules are involved in determining how, when, why, or where the step is executed?
What information is needed for the execution of this step?
Describe the metric that is currently used to measure the soundness of the workflow. Is it effective?
Describe any areas where improvements could occur and propose changes that could bring about these improvements in the workflow.
Summarize why it is important to be aware of the flow of an activity.
Remember to include a cover page, introduction, and summary for your paper.

A summary of your thesis
This should be an analysis paper. For your summative assessment, you will critically examine an existing public health program that attempts to address a public health issue. You will evaluate the
program to determine if it considers and accounts for the myriad social and behavioral risk factors that contribute to the public health issue. You will also analyze
the factors that must be considered to successfully implement a targeted and appropriate public health program that aligns with the needs of the population.
The project is divided into four milestones, which will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final
submissions. These milestones will be submitted in Modules Two, Three, Five, and Seven. The final project will be submitted in Module Nine.
In this assignment you will demonstrate your mastery of the following course outcomes:
Analyze social and behavioral factors associated with increased risk of prevalent public health issues for informing development of appropriate programs
or interventions
Assess public health programs for the extent to which they consider social and behavioral factors in addressing public health issues
Recommend appropriate strategies that consider social and behavioral risk factors for addressing public health issues
Analyze public health trends for identifying critical public health issues impacting communities
Select a public health program at the local or national level that attempts to address a public health issue, and evaluate the program with regard to how it
addresses social and behavioral risk factors. Your final analysis and recommendations paper must contain the following critical elements:
Specifically the following critical elements must be addressed:
I. Introduction and Background
A. Briefly describe the history of your selected public health issue, as well as trends that have affected its development and impact on the
community. Use peer-reviewed literature to substantiate your findings.
B. What are the key social and behavioral risk factors that need to be considered with regard to this issue? Be sure to support your response with
evidence.
C. Are these risk factors a result of the public health issue, or do they contribute to it? Be sure to substantiate your response with evidence.
D. To date, what programs or strategies have been employed to address this issue? Be sure to provide specific examples in your response.
E. Of the programs or strategies identified above, to what extent do you feel they demonstrate consideration of social and behavioral risk factors?
Be sure to justify your reasoning.
F. What are the successes or failures of current programs or strategies as they relate to addressing the social and behavioral risk factors that may
contribute to the issue?
G. Which particular public health program will you examine, and what is the rationale behind your choice?
II. Program : Describe your selected program, including the target population; the length of time the program has been in place; the entity that
administers the program; how the program was implemented, administered, and communicated; and the strategies the program has used for
addressing the public health issue, as well as the outcomes of the program. Consider as you respond that this information will be critical in order for you
to be able to make recommendations for improving the program.
III. Program Analysis
A. To what extent does the program use theoretical approach(es) to encourage social and behavioral change in the target population? Provide
specific examples to support your response.
B. To what extent does the program use social and behavioral theoretical approach(es) to foster community engagement? Provide specific
examples to support your response.
C. Of the social or behavioral risk factors you previously identified as associated with the public health issue, which are being addressed by the
selected program? Was the program developed specifically to address those factors? Be sure to substantiate your response.
D. By what mechanism(s) and how effectively have the social and behavioral risk factors been addressed in the program?
E. What do data and trends indicate about the programs efficacy in meeting its intended public health outcome? Be sure to provide specific
evidence from the program to substantiate your response.
F. What are the successes and failures of this particular program? In other words, explain in detail the programs strengths and weaknesses in
addressing the social and behavioral risk factors associated with the public health issue. If you feel the program has either no successes or no
failures, be sure to justify your reasoning.
G. What do you feel has been the overall impact of the program in addressing the social and behavioral risk factors that contribute to the public
health issue? What public health trends have you noted that helped to form your conclusion? Be sure to support your reasoning.
IV. Recommendations
A. What recommendation(s) would you make for improving the current program? Be sure to support your recommendation with evidence.
B. What theoretical approach(es) might you recommend the program use to more fully engage the community in public health strategies? Be sure
to support your recommendation with evidence.
C. Based on your overall program analysis, what suggestions might you make for a new programmatic approach to addressing the social and
behavioral risk factors associated with the public health issue?
V. Conclusion: Briefly summarize your analysis and recommendations

Assignment: Application: Adoption of New Technology Systems
As a nurse, you can have a great impact on the success or failure of the adoption of EHRs. It is important for nurses to understand their role as change agents and the ways they can influence others when addressing the challenges of changing to a drastically different way of doing things.
Everett Rogers, a pioneer in the field of the diffusion of innovations, identified five qualities that determine individual attitudes towards adopting new technology (2003). He theorized that individuals are concerned with:
Relative advantage: The individual adopting the new innovation must see how it will be an improvement over the old way of doing things.
Compatibility with existing values and practices: The adopter must understand how the new innovation aligns with current practices.
Simplicity: The adopter must believe he or she can easily master the new technology; the more difficult learning the new system appears, the greater the resistance that will occur.
Trialability: The adopter should have the opportunity to play around with the new technology and explore its capabilities.
Observable results: The adopter must have evidence that the proposed innovation has been successful in other situations.
Note: You are not required to purchase Rogers book or pursue further information regarding his list of five qualities. The information provided here is sufficient to complete this Assignment. The full reference for Rogers work is provided below the due date on this page.
For this Assignment, you assume the role of a nurse facilitator in a small hospital in upstate New York. You have been part of a team preparing for the implementation of a new electronic health records system. Decisions as to the program that will be used have been finalized, and you are now tasked with preparing the nurses for the new system. There has been an undercurrent of resistance expressed by nurses, and you must respond to their concerns. You have a meeting scheduled with the nurses 1 week prior to the training on the new EHR system. Consider how you can use the five qualities outlined by Rogers (2003) to assist in preparing the nurses for the upcoming implementation.
To prepare
Review the Learning Resources this week about successful implementations of EHRs.
Consider how you would present the new EHR system to the nurses to win their approval.
