Discuss your experience of each track and use the literature to explain how it either contributed to your identified health purpose, or how and why it was unsuccessful.

In this assignment you need to create a playlist to promote your own personal health either physical or mental health. To do this, you will carefully choose music that suits the purpose of the playlist and draw on concepts and theory covered in lectures to strategically organize the order of songs. Actively listen to the music you choose for your playlist to test that it meets your intended purpose. Although you should choose either physical or mental health, you are welcome to draw on any literature from the different weeks of the semester that is relevant to explain the health benefits for you. Introduction (approx. 500 words): In the introduction, describe your selected purpose for the playlist and summarise key theories about how music could be used to promote the desired outcome. Clearly describe the process you used to create the playlist, stating how you went about selecting the songs and the order. Assignment body (approx. 1200 words): In the body of the assignment, list the order of the 10 pieces of music included in the playlist. Include descriptions of the musical aspects (the beat, harmonies etc) and non-musical aspects (associations etc) of the track, depending on which was more relevant for each particular one. You must use the literature throughout the assignment to justify your claims about the benefits of music for this purpose. Dedicate approximately 120 words per song and include the song title and reference details as the subheading for each song (these titles are not included in the word count). Conclusion (approx. 300 words): In the conclusion, reflect on any potential mental or physical health benefits that may result for others through the construction of a playlist similar to yours, including any ideas you have about the use of music to promote health in the community. Headings: Use the songs as Headings for the body of the assignment. Please include reference to each song as the subheadings including Track Title, Performing Artist and year of publication, with information about the Composer and Record Company if information is relevant. Notes: We recommend APA6 referencing style, however, your references can be in any style as long as they are consistent. All citations included in the body of the assignment must appear in the reference list according to your chosen referencing style. Include a minimum of 6 academic pieces of literature, integrated into the body of the assignment. You may choose to write the assignment in first or third person. The reference list and subheadings are not included in the word limit. In-text citations are included in the word limit. You may choose songs from any genre/style/culture. We allow 10% either side of the word limit for essays. Include the final word count on the front page of your essay. Assessment criteria: Integration of the literature into the explanations about the choice of each song. Capacity to critically reflect upon the potential use and challenges associated with songs and playlists. Why was it successful or not successful, and how does that confirm or contrast the literature? Clarity of writing and presentation. Successful and clear reporting of all tracks and citations in the text, and correct referencing of tracks and literature references according to APA 6 or other chosen style.

How does someone become a member of the subfield you selected? (I.e., How does someone become the type of psychologist you selected?)

PSYC 111 TERM PAPER Subfields of Psychology Psychology as a discipline is comprised of a number of specific subfields and areas of emphasis. As an introduction to psychology, PSYC 111 provides a general overview of many different areas. Your task for this paper is to explore one of these areas in greater depth. Read the Subfields of Psychology PDF posted on Blackboard. This reading gives you a brief synopsis of 16 subfields within the discipline. After you have read, select one of the subfields (reprinted below) to explore in more depth; this will be the subject of your term paper. Choose from among the following subfields: 1. Clinical psychologists 2. Cognitive psychologists 3. Community psychologists 4. Counseling psychologists 5. Developmental psychologists 6. Educational psychologists 7. Experimental psychologists 8. Forensic psychologists 9. Health psychologists 10. Industrial-organizational (I/O) psychologists 11. Neuropsychologists 12. Psychometric and quantitative psychologists 13. Rehabilitation psychologists 14. School psychologists 15. Social psychologists 16. Sport psychologists After you have selected a subfield, your task is to write an APA-formatted paper of 2-4 pages in length (excluding title and references pages) that describes and explores the selected profession. (Your paper must be at least two pages, meaning text covers the entire printable area on the second page. You will find more than enough information to write three or four pages.) As you write your paper, answer the following questions about the subfield you selected. Synthesize your responses into a cohesive narrative about the field; do not simply type answers to the questions. (For full credit, also include additional interesting information that you learn while researching your selected field.) ? Specifically, what training (undergraduate, graduate, internship, postdoc, etc.) is required? Approximately how many years does such training require? ? Briefly describe at least two graduate programs that offer training in your selected subfield. What schools/universities offer these programs? What type of programs are they (e.g., MA/MS, PhD)? How competitive is admission to the programs? ? Is a license required to practice in the subfield of psychology you selected? If so, what are the requirements for someone in the field to be licensed in Illinois? ? In what settings does a person in the field you selected typically work (e.g., clinical, academic, business, etc.)? What might a typical workday look like? ? What are at least two major professional organizations in the field you selected? (Table B.1, APA Divisions by Number and Name, should be a good starting resource.) Synthesize the above information into a coherent, well-organized paper. Your paper should reference at least three sources, one of which may be your textbook. These sources should be appropriately cited in the text of your paper, as well as on an APA-style references page. An APA-style paper includes (at minimum) the following: ? An APA-style title page ? Running head and page numbers in appropriate locations on the page ? Properly formatted in-text citations of others work ? A properly formatted references page You do not need to include an abstract with your paper.

Describe and explain Platos metaphor of the cave. Who are the prisoners, and in what ways are they imprisoned in the cave? How is it possible to exit the cave? What happens after a person exits the cave?

2. What do you think of Platos harsh criticisms of his society? Do they seem fair? Do you think his negative assessment of society holds true today? If so, why? If not, why not?

3. Do you think Platos complaints about the role of the philosopher in society are accurate today? Is there a role for the philosopher in running the state today? If so, what would that role be? If not, why not, and is it desirable to have philosophers running the government?

1. Write more than 4 full pages, and less than 6. You may answer the questions individually, or you may answer in essay form.

2. Your paper should be double spaced, 12-pt. font, 1 inch margins.

3. Please include a title page with the name of the assignment, your name, the class name, due date of the assignment, and the professors name. DO NOT PUT ANY OTHER HEADING ON EITHER PAGE OF YOUR ESSAY. Headings are merely a waste of space. (The title page is not included in the 5-7 page requirement, nor are any endnotes or bibliography.)

4. You do not need to use outside sources, but you are welcome to. If you do use other sources, please provide a full reference for them (footnotes/endnotes and bibliography). If you are only using the Republic, you do not need to give bibliographical information, but you should cite specific passages in the text using the marginal page numbers (e.g., 508c-509a).

5. Although this is a response paper, this is not merely personal opinion. Whatever answers you give to the questions should be supported by arguments reasons why what you say is true. You should also thoroughly reference the text of Platos Republic by citing the page numbers that you cite.

Describe those practices and defend your choices. Please cite all sources (in text and in a references page) you used to describe the practices you are discussing.
