Using your text and at least one of the following sources, describe some of the risks and problems associated with offender reentry into the community. Can these problems be anticipated and planned for?

Prisoner Reentry into the Community Most inmates return to the community at some point. It is in the best interest of the community that the ex-offender be able reestablish himself and be a contributing member of society, however; how successful their reentry is and how long it lasts depends on a variety of factors. What can the corrections system do to help prepare the offender for reentry? What can the community do to help the newly released inmate smoothly transition back into society? For reference material use at least your text and one or more of the following sources. Remember to identify passages in your essay where you are quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing as well as the source you are using. Justice Department of United States Government Department of Homeland Security National Institute of Justice National Criminal Justice Reference Services Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Your paper must be formatted in the following manner: The paper must be 500-750 words in length. Only the body of the paper counts towards the length. No information that belongs on a title page or reference page will count towards the length requirement. Use Times New Roman 12 point font, and double-space your lines.

What are the roles of the corrections organization, the probation officer, and the offender in the outcome of the probationary period? When can we determine the probationary period be deemed a success?

It has been said that Amazon can and will overtake Walmart as the world’s largest retailer within the next 10 years How can that possibly happen? What can Walmart do to remain in the lead position?

Retailing is a highly competitive and volatile industry, one in which today’s leader may soon be scrambling for survival. Poorly developed and executed strategies, compounded by the emergence of innovative new formats, technologies and competitors, can quickly turn a seemingly unassailable company into an also ran. In this context, please select from among the following propositions and provide a 7-10 pg. paper stating who you believe will “win” (and/or lose) in the years ahead. (Note: APA format required, charts, graphs and visuals strongly encouraged.) Your paper should include, but not be limited to, the following: a.) A summary of each company’s operations; target/geographic markets, annual revenues, retail mix (6 elements), trends etc. b.) A SWOT assessment of each enterprise. Note: this portion is critical and should serve as a basis for your recommendations. (pg. 144-149 of Levy will serve as a reference) c.) Identification of, and justification for, the GROWTH strategies the “winning” retailer needs to develop in order to “win.” (Note: please reference pages 131-139 of the Levy text). d.) An assessment of what the other retailer(s) might do to “not lose.” (Again the Levy text provides great guidance here.) e.) A brief summary of your findings. You are encouraged to use whatever data bases or external sources (videos etc.) are necessary to support your proposition. Criteria as noted in the writing rubric: 1.) Grammar, spelling, syntax 2.) Coverage of all required points 3.) Appropriate context and evidence of critical thinking (Who, what, WHY?) 4.) The “wow” factor – something that takes the assignment beyond what is required.

(301) Gay and Transgender Patients to Doctors

According to the New York Times article Gay and Transgender Patients to Doctors. Well Tell. Just Ask. By Jan Hoffman, May 29, 2017 (see attached), clinicians may have more sensitive interaction and thereby be able to provide better care by knowing if the patient is gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or straight. Although federal agencies are pushing health care providers to ask, the majority of doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses do not. The belief that patients will refuse to disclose their sexual orientation seems untrue as only 10% of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and heterosexual in a randomized study said they would not answer a sexual orientation question. Based on the New York Times article “Gay and Transgender Patients to Doctors: We’ll Tell. Just Ask.” ( https://nyti.ms/2seU9JI ) and any other relevant literature, discuss why you believe healthcare providers often skip the sexual orientation question. Furthermore, what do you suggest can/should be done to make it easier to disclose the information and open the line of communication? How may it improve care? !!All references or resources should be published within 5 years!!

How did Brunelleschi actually build the Duomo of Florence? Please research this idea and interject closeup pictures to discuss your idea.

Find out some of the tools he invented and used to complete the most difficult dome of all times. Remember to cite your sources. No name, no date, no title, no nothing at the top. Just start your first sentence at the beginning of the page. Your paper is time stamped and named with your information so I do not need to have anything on the paper except your response. This guarantees a 1.5 paper length. C.The art forums are used to post your favorite piece of art from the chapter. You will post a picture and describe in your own words (a complete paragraph) what you see and why you choose that piece of art

Choose a category of crime from the range of criminal activities you studied this semester, such as homicide, economic/white collar crime, family violence, school/workplace violence, sexual assault, terrorism, etc.

No directly quoted material may be used in this project paper. Resources should be summarized or paraphrased with appropriate in-text and Resource page citations. For this project you will write about a category of criminal activity you studied and found most compelling during the course of this class. In general, your assignment is to examine this criminal activity, its theoretical perspectives, and the underlying factors in an effort to explain the behavior and reduce recidivism in the future. Use your critical thinking and research skills to compose a paper that demonstrates what you have learned in this course. Instructions: Select a specific individual or group that perpetrated this type of crime Begin with a brief (150 to 200 word) abstract, which is a comprehensive summary of the contents of your project Use your course materials and at least three (3) outside resources (not course instructional material) to support your work Write a concluding statement. Project Outline 1. Define and describe the category of crime, its characteristics, typical offenders, and the theoretical perspectives attributed to it. 2. Identify and describe your chosen individual or group that perpetrated this type of crime. 3. Explain the perpetrator/s background. For example: If an individual, explain where they were born, their family structure, the socioeconomic conditions, education, their life events that led up to the criminal act, etc. If a group of individuals or political faction, explain how and why the group was formed, when they were active, where they were located, how they were organized, etc. 4. If you have identified a specific exemplary incident describe the crime. Explain what happened, when it happened, where it happened, the conditions that led up to the crime (s), what if any gain the perpetrator realized as a result of the crime etc. 5. Explain the factors or predictors that may have influenced this criminal behavior such as, but not limited to: Risk factors (as outlined in your textbook) Psychological disorders Mental illness Substance abuse Motivations Political ideologies 6. Explain whether the offender (s) were able to follow through with the crime (s). If they were able to, how did they achieve it? Over what time period? If not, why not? 7. Identify and describe the legal, corrective, and/or rehabilitative action that is appropriately directed to perpetrators of this criminal activity. Is there evidence (or do you believe) the punishment and or treatment programs can be effective in reducing recidivism? 8. Describe and evaluate any associated outcomes/impact emanating from this criminal activity or specific incident, such as increased social awareness, change in policy or laws, negative backlash or unintended effects, etc. 9. Concluding statement Grading: The evaluation of this project will focus on: 1. Your understanding and description of the crime category you selected. 2. Your comprehensive review of the example case 3. Your analysis of the risk factors in the example case 4. Overall quality of the composition 5. Compliance with the format requirements.
