Discussion: Critiquing a Change Effort
As a nurse leader, you need to have the skills and knowledge to collaborate and communicate with those who plan for and manage change. This capacity is valuable in any health care setting and for many different types of change. Furthermore, it is essential to be able to evaluate a change effort and determine if it is promoting improved outcomes and making a positive difference within the department or unit, or for the organization as a whole.
To prepare:
Review Chapters 7 and 8 in the course text. Focus on the strategies for planning and implementing change in an organization, as well as the roles of nurses, managers, and other health care professionals throughout this process.
Reflect on a specific change that has recently occurred in your organization or one in which you have worked previously. What was the catalyst or purpose of the change?
How did the change affect your job and responsibilities?
Consider the results of the change and whether or not the intended outcomes have been achieved.
Was the change managed skillfully? Why or why not? How might the process have been improved?
By Day 3
Post a summary of a specific change within an organization and describe the impact of this change on your role and responsibilities. Explain the rationale for the change, and whether or not the intended outcomes have been met. Assess the management of the change, and propose suggestions for how the process could have been improved.*** My references have to come from the required reading or optional reading resources.

Explain whether this was an effective way to represent this information within the context of the example you found.

One of the concepts you encountered in the readings this module was how to recognize the use and misuse of information presented in the form of percentages. In this discussion assignment, you will conduct an Internet search to find several examples of the use of percentages. These can be examples of percentages used in advertising claims, reported results from a study, or information shared by a government agency. In a minimum of 200 words, post to the Discussion Area your response to the following:Find an example of two of the following types of usage of percentages.Use of percentages as a fraction. Remember that this type will use the word of to imply multiplication. Explain whether this was an effective way to represent this information within the context of the example you found.
Use of percentages to describe change. In the example you find, determine whether the reported percentage demonstrated absolute or relative change. Show your work. Explain whether this was an effective way to represent this information within the context of the example you found.
Use of percentages for comparison. In the example you find, determine whether the reported percentage demonstrated absolute or relative change. Show your work. Explain whether this was an effective way to represent this information within the context of the example you found.
Now, find an example of two of the following misuses of percentages.Use of a shifting reference value. In this situation, the base values are changing as differing values of percentages are applied as increases, decreases, or both. Percentage increases, decreases, or both do not have a cumulative effect. Be sure to demonstrate why your example fits this category.
Use of percentage to represent less than nothing. Look for an example where you are seeing a reduction of some percentage greater than 100. Be sure to demonstrate why your example fits this category.
Situation where the average percentage is reported. In general, you can not average percentages. The result isnt representative of what actually has occurred in the situation in question. Be sure to demonstrate why your example fits this category. PLEASE DEMONSTRATE THE EXAMPLE

*** I work on an adult psychiatric inpatient unit and would like for the change to be from using AVADE workplace violence prevention and self-defense training to crisis prevention intervention (CPI) training techniques to handle aggressive behavior. The CPI training is more comprehensive and less violent compared to AVADE. I want to say after review of videos of utilizing AVADE techniques, the evaluation revealed an increased risk of staff and patient injuries and management research of CPI training revealed less risk of injury to staff and patient. The impact on my role as a registered nurse (RN) would mean a 2 day training course and being a team leader to ensure proper use of the techniques while staff are utilizing CPI techniques to de-escalate a patient to decrease injury to both staff and patient. The rationale for the change is decreased injury to staff and patient and can say it was met due to less use of restraints and less occupational injuries after implementation of CPI training.

Identification of potential barriers to plan implementation, and a discussion of how these could be overcome

In this assignment, students will pull together the change proposal project components they have been working on throughout the course to create a proposal inclusive of sections for each content focus area in the course. At the conclusion of this project, the student will be able to apply evidence-based research steps and processes required as the foundation to address a clinically oriented problem or issue in future practice.
Students will develop a 1,250-1,500 word paper that includes the following information as it applies to the problem, issue, suggestion, initiative, or educational need profiled in the capstone change proposal:
Background
Problem statement
Purpose of the change proposal
PICOT
Literature search strategy employed
Evaluation of the literature
Applicable change or nursing theory utilized
Proposed implementation plan with outcome measures
Identification of potential barriers to plan implementation, and a discussion of how these could be overcome
Appendix section, if tables, graphs, surveys, educational materials, etc. are created
Review the feedback from your instructor on the Topic 3 assignment, PICOT Statement Paper, and Topic 6 assignment, Literature Review. Use the feedback to make appropriate revisions to the portfolio components before submitting.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

‘Global environmental change and international law’

‘Global environmental change and international law’, that might be too broad, basically it can be anything within that topic please. Include a definition within the introduction and how global climate change is “common concern of mankind” as stated by UN General Assembly resolution 43/53. Reference from Vienna conventions, just for example – Article 1(1) of the Vienna convention for the protection of the ozone layer, 1985 where it defines the area of the ozone layer, how it is a distinct unit with an identity of its own, irrespective of national sovereignty or shared resources claims etc. International co-operation must be included, ‘international matters concerning the protection and improvement of the environment should be handled in a co-operative spirit’ noted in principle 24 of the Stockholm declaration 1972, and many similar ones you’ll find throughout researching, could include any case studies found if relevant as well. Of course all the legal documents must be mentioned in the essay including the UNFCCC, Kyoto protocol, Paris agreement and so on, including information from most recent events (COP24 etc.), also the upcoming climate summit 2019 This should be a very interesting essay, I’m quite upset I don’t have the time to do it myself. please mention whether agreements are legally binding etc. in the essay as well please. I need the usual amount of sources referenced for a 2500 word essay, but some that must be included are ‘International Law’ by Malcolm M. Shaw, principles from various declarations/conventions, academic literature/journals, articles, relevant treaties, conference papers/reports, UN sources etc. compare any arguments in the essay with existing policy, framework and their implementation. Evaluation Criteria: Research: demonstration of own independent research; makes good use of relevant (up-to-date) scholarly (re-)sources; accurate analysis of substantive laws and facts; demonstrates originality of research outside of lectures. Knowledge & Understanding:

Choose two works from within one of these categories (two poems, two plays, etc.) that have similar themes and compare and contrast how they’re treated and explored.

For this assignment, you will choose two of the three prompts below and write an 800-1200-word essay in response to each one. Include quotes and textual evidence from the works you’ve chosen cited in MLA format. Please cite any Study.com lessons (Just use an outside source). Your essay must be followed by an MLA style References page with at least 2 sources. Do not include an abstract. Include cover page. *PROMPT* Choose two works from within one of these categories (two poems, two plays, etc.) that have similar themes and compare and contrast how they’re treated and explored.
