Autobiography

The purpose of the assignment is to reflect on yourself and your cultural background, and to have an opportunity to share this with others, and to have an opportunity to see such portraits of others.

1) Write a two-page typed double-spaced description of your cultural background and indicate how you think it might affect your world view, your life style, and your communication with others (both people from the same culture as you and those from other cultures). (6 points)

2) Connect your reflections to specific concepts in the readings (e.g., culture, communication, components of cultural patterns) (4 points).

3) Address at least FIVE of the following questions (20 points):
How would you describe yourself in terms of heritage?
Are you primarily from one cultural group (e.g. Irish, Italian)?(Mexican)
Did your grandparents speak another language?(no)
Have you been influenced by other cultures, and if so, how?
What events in your upbringing can you think of that influenced your cultural identity? Did you travel to foreign places?

You are required to write an essay about the book, “Doing Honest Work in College: How to Prepare Citations, Avoid Plagiarism, and Achieve Real
Academic Success”, by Charles Lipson. You must obtain your own copy of the book, at your own expense, either through a library, on-line, or through a bookstore. This paper should be at least 1,250 words and address the following questions:
What was beneficial about the book? What about the book was not beneficial?
What insight did you gain about yourself from reading the book?
What did you learn from the author that you could apply to your own life?
Mr. Lipson’s book is about academic integrity. Why does academic integrity matter?
Mr. Lipson also provides some basic points to consider when using the Internet for research.
What are they and what suggestions does he offer to handle these problems?
While in college, do you consider how your actions and lifestyle choices will affect you in the
future? If yes, how does this affect your behavior? If no, why not?
List the priorities you have in school, starting with the most important to you continuing down
to the least important. Where do academics fall on that list?

Was there a particular section of the orchestra/group that was especially fun to watch and listen to? Anything like this is great and is what makes attending concerts such a special event.

Unit III Case Study OSHAs personal protective equipment (PPE) standard requires employers to assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, which may necessitate the use of PPE. Based on the assessment, appropriate PPE must be selected and provided to affected employees. Using Subpart I Appendix B as a guide, develop a hazard assessment for your workplace or a workplace with which you are familiar. If you work in an office, or if you work in another non-hazardous location, develop an assessment for an imagined industrial shop such as woodworking or metalworking.
