What is the dominant theme or themes in African American history from 1492 until now?

In about 2000 words, choose at least five turning points spread out over the entire course that provide evidence for your argument. Referencing both primary(the textbook, what the authors included into the book from outside sources and secondary sources (the textbook, what the authors wrote.), provide an overarching argument about why you argue what you do. The professor told us that it would be best if a turning point in mentioned from every 3 chapters. Since there are 15 chapters, 5 turning points will be completed. The textbook is : Deborah Gray White, Mia Bay, and Waldo E. Martin Jr., Freedom on My Mind: A History of African Americans, with Documents 2nd Edition (Boston: Bedford/St. Martins, 2017). Argument-driven paper, focused on something related to “the Apocalypse” ( write about the idea of Apocalypticism in Christianity in and the anticipation of the imminent end of times unifies the need for order in society )

The essay needs to be in MLA format, and use at least 5 sources. basically the essay needs to mentions modernism, christian fundamentalism and dispensationalism Here’s a general idea, it does not need to go this way at all however it was just trying to show the point I’m trying to make. You can completely disregard what I wrote if you have a better idea and know more depth about the subject matter of religion. —–Apocalypticism has had a fundamental impact on Christianity in contemporary America during the past century. In Christianity, apocalypticism is defined by the belief of the imminent end of time through the prophecy of the second coming of God. The anticipation of the second coming by God, had fostered different apocalyptic ideologies of Gods’ revelations in the New Testament. These opposing ideologies lead to the emergence of different religious movement promoting their own interpretation of the validity of the bible. During the late nineteenth-century and early twentieth-century Christian Fundamentalism had emerged in reaction to pressures of theological modernity and against emerging external pressures of the “theory of evolution”, of rapidly advancing science and industry, and of the growth of cultural secularism. Christian Fundamentalists believed that of the higher power, God for their existence and modernism had started to dilute the “true” Christian message. They fought for a return to what they understood to be the “fundamentals” of the Christian faith, with an emphasis on a literal interpretation of the Bible, personal holiness, and rejection of secular culture and science. Modernism aimed to revise traditional Christian beliefs to accommodate new developments in modern science. The opposition of Modernism shaped the development of Christian fundamentalism. Christians sought to protect the validity of the bible and the nature of their religion through any means. To combat the ideologies in modernism, Christian took action dividing themselves amongst different factions. The result of Christian’s opposition to modernism theology was Fundamentalism and dispensationalism. The modern age of America challenged the validity of the New Testament which is the foundation of Christianity. This new era in America caused the purpose and self-identity amongst contemporary Christians to be rectified. Fostering the development of Christian fundamentalism and encouraging an societal purpose; to unify in order to protect the nature of Christianity in anticipation of the imminent end by a second coming of God. —- Here are sources I was recommended but you don’t need to use them: Collins, John J.
