Social Media, crowd sourcing and the Web

You need to carry out an investigation of a story or issue of your choice, using more than one of the methods covered in the course and/or any related methods you have discovered. Write up your investigation, and include a discussion of what you have learned. You dont need to produce a completed investigation; the process is as important as the result. Analysing the merits of the methods is as important as what you can find with them. Computing students are expected to include a level of technical implementation or modification, or an application of methods that shows substantive technical insight (I AM a computing student)
Methods such as
VIDEO VERIFICATION methods
IMAGE VERIFICATION methods
GEO LOCATION methods
SOCIAL NETWORKS methods
CROWD AND BOTS methods
TRACKING methods
MAPPING methods
ALGORITHIM methods
INFOSEC methods
Some of these methods require software or online tools. I will list the links to the online tools.

Defense Intelligence Law enforcement Homeland security Based on your selection, you are required to explain why your selected area should be given greater authorities, how those would surpass or complement other cyber areas of expertise and align with existing laws, or if they would require changes to an existing law.

Write 500 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas. According to the UK Minister for the Armed Forces Nick Harvey (as cited in Dowdy, 2012), we must remember that cyber crime, cyber terrorism, cyber espionage or cyber war are simply crime, terrorism, espionage and war by other means. Within the United States, there are multiple entities responsible for cybersecurity. This can lead to overlapping, missing, or conflicting responsibilities that are required to protect the nation and its critical infrastructure. In an interconnected world that is dependent on the Internet, the United States must have a cyber strategy and policy or legislation to ensure its interests moving forward as a viable nation. Choose 1 of the 4 following categories, each of which has a different responsibility related to cybersecurity: Defense Intelligence Law enforcement Homeland security Based on your selection, you are required to explain why your selected area should be given greater authorities, how those would surpass or complement other cyber areas of expertise and align with existing laws, or if they would require changes to an existing law. Discuss what the differences or similarities are between a national strategy for cybersecurity and a national cybersecurity policy. Do not be afraid to use brief personal experiences in your explanation. Reference Dowdy, J. (2012). The cybersecurity threat to US growth and prosperity. In N. Burns, & Price, J. produce a 5000 word annotated bibliography consisting of 7 sources (700-750 words per source). The list of sources focused on a specific research topic that relates to the abstract concepts you wish to investigate in the literature. Students are expected to critically analyse different dimensions of digital culture as they relate to abstract concepts, such as (but not limited to): security, legal frameworks, and/or free cultures. Some description that might help: What is expected? Students must produce a 5000 word annotated bibliography consisting of 7 sources (700-750 words per source). Each entry of the annotated bibliography should include the full bibliographic information about the work according in Harvard style citation. For each source, you will provide an annotation which will include: a summary of the main points and/or arguments, a section that speaks to the relevance of the source to your research trajectory (why is it useful? how will can the source be used to counter or support your research), an evaluation of the conceptual framework of the source and finally, can the source be grouped with another source you have looked at? (does it share any fundamental concepts/arguments or can it be used as a counter point/argument to another source you have looked analysed?) Suggested Reading list (but not limited to): Athique, A. The railroads on us, or does it? Is technology our slave or is it our master? Maybe for some of us it is our master, as with the railroad workers who lived and and died serving it. Maybe, however, Thoreau is just being anti-technology
(a Luddite), who fails to appreciate the miracles and benefits of technology. Who knows, maybe that train puffing past his cabin was hauling pencils, made in the Thoreau family factory.Attached is the article:

Research and provide a brief overview of what some of these regulatory laws are, outlining the pros and cons of each of them. Include your opinion as to whether one can be secure and still maintain his or her privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties in the interconnected world that exists today, delineating the reasons (citing sources) behind it. Be sure to highlight the challenges that exist today that might not have existed prior to the Internet. Ethical Considerations of Health Care Marketing ResearchWhen conducting market research, health care organizations use a variety of methods to collect and report data. From how this data is collected to who collects it, when they collect it, and how they report it, it is essential for organizations to establish ethical standards for the research process. For this Discussion, you examine ethics in market research and recommend strategies to address unethical behaviors. To prepare:Select a data collection or reporting method used in health care marketing research and reflect on related ethical considerations.Analyze ethical considerations for the data collection or reporting method you selected. Then, recommend strategies to address unethical behaviors that may occur when using this method in health care marketing research. Defend or argue your recommendations. Critically analyse and evaluate two currently popular English language-teaching methods.

Assignment 1 Critically analyse and evaluate two currently popular English language-teaching methods. The purpose of this assignment is to explore in detail two currently popular English language teaching methodologies. The essay should provide an overview of the evolution of ELT methods, followed by an in-depth critical discussion of two of the more recently popular teaching methodologies, with reference to the application of these methods in practice (supported by the literature). Consider the following: What is a teaching method? What is the range of methodologies found in the field of ELT? How has ELT methodology developed in recent times, considering the evidence of the prevalent thinking within the field of modern ELT? Identify two recent and commonly adopted ELT methods. Outline and comment on the language teaching & learning approach and principles behind each method selected. Comment on how the specific methods you have selected for discussion work in practice you could discuss techniques and materials used; the expectations of the tutor and the learners; the learning/teaching aim or focus; how interaction between students/teacher happens; how cultural factors might influence the method in practice; any difficulties these methods might pose for teacher and learner in practice. Support your ideas with reference to examples from your reading. NOTE: You may consider your recent observations of English language teaching and students as support in your discussion. Word Count: 2,000 words (+/-10%)) (IDEAS) Methods the realisation of a theoretical based approach putting the theory into action; one approach may lead to many methods -Methods have objectives (process, product or linguistically oriented); a language focus content selection & organisation (a syllabus); activities; teacher role(s); learner role(s); material role(s) Techniques the different ways of accomplishing tasks in the classroom, of using materials & teaching aids Procedures a sequence of techniques, a sequence of stages in a task or in a lesson. – Generally talk about these methods and then talk choose other tow methods – Communicative language learing-Communicative language teaching-Task based learing-Presentation practice production etc. Also I have observed 3 English language classes for international students, there are some observations 1- English classes should small groups.. 2- The teacher should deal with all students because their level is different some of them needs grammar and some of them needs speaking etc 3- Groupworks should be activated eithin learners because the learners can learn from each other rather than from the teacher 4- Concentrating on fluency is important more than accuracy because I remember when I was student our teacher focus on accuracy but as a foreign learners we need to speak the language rather than speak about the language.
