Since the inception of California as a state, African-Americans have sought it out as a refuge from the predominate racism of the more traditional sectors of the nation. The period of the Second World War was no different, as the demands of wartime production initiated one of the largest internal migrations in the nations history. African-Americans, in particular, moved west in search of a modern El Dorado, yet most found a quite different reality waiting for them. How did the issue of race affect African-American experiences both during and after the war? Has the issue of race dissipated or intensified within the state since the 1960s In terms of the essays themselves, what I am basing my grading on is content and organization. Like the writing assignments, each paper should utilize a standard five-paragraph essay format, consisting of an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Papers are not confined to just five paragraphs, but should stay within this model. While the essay questions themselves are dealing with broad concepts related to California history, I expect your answers to include specific examples to support your arguments. papers should make use of both texts in searching for evidence. Evidence must be cited with parenthetical citations using the author s last name and page number. [i.e.,(Rolle & Verge, 244.)] Writing Historical Essays: A Guide for Undergraduates – Rutgers University Website (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. These are not meant to be research paper, all the necessary information should be found in the main texts. You may use other sources, but these must also be properly cited. Use proper historical evidence and websites (.orgs and .edus are acceptable. Do not cite .coms, especially Wikipedia, as this is an online collaborative encyclepedia, and as such, its content is not always factual or reliable.) Each paper must have: 1. your name 2. date 3. and a proper assignment title. Length will be approximately two (2) pages, single spaced, but more importantly, each essay must provide a complete answer that covers all aspects of the question. Here is the standard I use in grading the essays: An A essay (100-90) : Contains a strong thesis that is clear and concise; gives clear indication of paper s topic and addresses all elements of the question Is well balanced; uses relevant evidence from the texts (though not necessarily equally). Does not cite superfluous evidence. Is well organized in that it has topic sentences with clear transitions that are easy to follow (contains and Introduction, Body, and Conclusion) Little to no grammatical/spelling errors

Design/Procedure This section should describe the type of research design that would be utilized and the rationale behind the selection of this design. Why would your research method serve as the most appropriate choice to answer your research questions and/or hypotheses statements?

The following are the instructions I was given for the Research Paper- No actual research using participants or surveys can be used for the research proposal. Again, you will not be conducting any actual research involving participants as it would require advanced approval. However, in the course, you will “make up” the information in the “Method” (Participants), “Design/Procedure,” and “Data Analysis” sections of your proposal. What is needed: 1. Need Hypotheses Statements If you are conducting a quantitative study or mixed study, it will warrant hypotheses statements. Start with an introductory statement leading into your listed hypotheses statements. A hypothesis statement will be required for each listed research question (Ho and Ha statement). Qualitative studies typically do not warrant hypotheses statements. Ho: No significant differences exist between the adherence of dog owner commands among beagles and basset hounds. Ha: Significant differences exist between the adherence of dog owner commands among beagles and basset hounds. This section should also describe the steps necessary to implement this study based on your selected research design. 3. Data Analysis This section should provide step-by-step instructions for how you would collect, organize and analyze your data.

Review literature for moral/ethical issues encountered by advanced practice nurses in clinical practice.

Select an article that was published within the last five years. 1. Summarize the moral/ethical issue in the article (no more than 1 paragraph) 2. Describe the moral and ethical dilemmas surrounding the issue 3. Analyze the ethical issue and compare them to the State Health Laws and Regulations in your state 4. Outline the process of ethical decision making you would use to address this ethical dilemma

Identify a company or organization of your choice. Through research, personal interviews and other sources, prepare a comprehensive human resource review of that company outlining their HR related strengths and weaknesses and the impact that those strengths and weaknesses have on the company.

The suggested outline for this paper is as follows: Title Page Introduction Overview of the subject company Discussion of the HRM strengths and weaknesses of the company Impact of those strengths and weaknesses (current and long-term) Discussion as to how you would enhance the strengths and minimize the negative impact of the weaknesses. Conclusion Grading will stress structure, content, analysis, and style. Important! The paper must be at least three thousand words in length, but not exceed 4,500 words not counting references, tables, figures, and any (optional) Appendices; it must correctly cite and use at least 10 quality references, NOT counting the textbook. ALL cited sources must appear both within the body of the text (in text citations) and in the References list. AND, papers, citations, references etc. must be in APA format. For an A grade, the paper must use articles from at least 2 peer reviewed journals or “scholarly” books. Most of these periodicals are available on line from the Troy University Library. NOTE: Quality sources include journals, periodicals, text books, business books, corporate websites, conferences proceedings, dissertations etc. They do not include Wikipedia or other generic online sources! My five topices are: Performance Management Recruiting Corporate Culture Labor Relations Retention A pesonal interview was conducted with my immediate HR representative Rochelle Smith and the information from the interview is below. Interview with Rochelle Smith Corporate Culture- Rochelle stated that the biggest strength of the corporate culture within LifeSouth is that they have a legal counsel whose name is Kim Kinsell. All HR managers report directly to an attorney for their day to day policies and procedures. Another strength within the corporate culture is that all policies are standardized, and everyone must follow the legal guidelines across the board. Due to having a standard guide set in place for everyone it alleviates room for error. Rochelle stated that a weakness within the corporate culture is that there is not room for discretion at the individual level because everything is standardized. Due to having so many rules set in place HR managers on a lower level must get approval for everything form the legal counsel and upper level management, which could cause some situations a little longer to get handled. Labor Relations- Rochelle stated that a strength within the labor relations realm of the HR department of LSCBC is that all issues are routed through the chain of command and if there is a reprimand the reprimand must go through the corporate HR department and approved by the legal counsel to ensure that there arent any legal issues within the reprimand. Another strength is that if a person is high risk or has an ongoing issue a meeting is held with the issue, that employees immediate manager, upper management and HR to help find a resolve for the ongoing issue and to keep the outcome of the reprimand fair. A drawback from having to send everything up the chain is the turn around time and the location of the corporate HR department. Rochelle stated that having an HR department off site rather than onsite causes issues to be resolved in an untimely manner sometimes and that can be an issue for all parties involved. Performance Management- Strength is that performance management system is also a standard system, whereas the employee, immediate manager, and regional manager are all involved on the performance rating system and goal setting. Drawback is that there are daily, weekly, and monthly goals to meet which could hinder the employees performance rating. Due to the nature of the business collections are not consistent and that too is a drawback when it comes to performance management. Second drawback is that the system is a number rating system and the rating percentage are set by corporate which leaves little or no room for discretion from the managers. Recruiting- Strength of LS recruiting system is that all positions are posted in hose which leaves room from internal growth and promotions. Weakness is the standardized test for all applicants and every applicant must pass the test and a lot of people tend fail that test but are qualified for the position. Retention- Weakness of LS retention rate is that the company has a high turn over rate due to the crazy hours technicians are required to work. The work/life balance has a negative impact on the tenure of employees. Strength is that the company is a nonprofit organization with a great mission and the mission alone helps some people stay. The pay scale is very competitive along with the benefits packages and the amount of PTO the company offers their employees.

Life is full of uncertainties, and plans and circumstances can change. As a result, navigating a career requires you to be adaptable. Should the short-term goals that you provided above not materialize, what alternative directions have you considered?

The essay contains three questions and each question require at least 400 words. I have upload some bullet points of what I would like to cover in the paper and my resume, so please leverage my idea and my background to elaborate the story.
Q1) What are your short-term goals, post MBA?* 400 words
Q2) What are your long-term goals,?400words

Everyone has to choose a career, but how does a person choose? Whats the most important thing to think about?

Should people consider their own passions, skills and abilities?
Should people consider whether the job/ career is meaningful, purposeful, or valuable?
Should people make their choices based on practical guidelines, such as job availability, cost of education, and wages?
Decide whether your ideas apply to everyone or to specific demographic groups: youth, women, immigrants, those choosing a second career. Develop a working thesis that is an argument. Include a topic, a controlling idea and a preview statement ( POD).
