Investigate if and how your district addresses professional learning communities. How does your district encourage and maintain a collaborative environment?

A professional learning community is any imaginable combination of individuals with an interest in educationa grade-level teaching team, a school committee, a high school department, an entire school district, a state department of education, a national professional organization, and so on that work together to accomplish a goal (Ascd). I work in a very good school district that works really hard to collaborate and create a well rounded Professional Learning Community. We have very good communication as well have monthly staff meetings, weekly PLCs, zones of regulation, and professional days. We communicate well through email and texting to make sure we are all on the same page and we share new ideas that work in a classroom and with kids. Our district wants the best for our staff and students. We also have walking buddies in which we take 5 minutes of our day to walk with a staff member and learn about them and become a closer knit family. We also have monthly lunch events and sometimes team building events which are great and very helpful. The staff is very friendly and the participation outcome is overall great. Our communication is very great for the most part as we keep in touch through email, text, and each other. It is a work in progress but for the most part my school district does a great job with professional learning and maintaining a collaborative environment.Resource:Ascd. (n.d.). Write an argument paper concerning this week’s topic Development and Inheritance or any topic we have discussed thus far.

You can pick anything that is of interest to you. However, make sure you are specific and can write 3-5 pages on your topic.Watch documentaries, read articles or books, and/or use additional media sources as references for your argument paper.Discuss your position. Use evidence to support your position. The argument paper should begin with a one- to three-sentence statement of the main thesis. A thesis is an argument concerning an issue. It clearly states the author’s perception. Your paper should present your beliefs or conclusions related to the topic. It should include references from the text or one outside reading assigned by your instructor or both. The paper may also include material from other sources (please see rubric for guidance on this).A Crash Course on Argument PapersSelect an issue or dilemma of interest.
Review the pertinent literature.
Decide on your perception; take a stance.
Articulate your perception in a thesis statement.
Summarize the issues; demonstrate an understanding of the controversy.
Defend/argue in favor of your perception using all resources available.
Finish with a strong summary statement that reinforces your thesis.
Proofread your work; use grammar/spellcheck functions.
Revise; submit final draft.

Consider your paper a reaction paper that chronicles the history of your attendance from an experiential standpoint.

Writing Your Critique
Your paper should be three full pages in length (approximately 280 words per
page), double-spaced, written in 12 pt font, and must conform to MLA
guidelines. Do not use extra spaces between paragraphs
You can include information on
your thoughts and feelings about the event as you prepared to attend,
attended, and returned from the event. Your experiences as you transitioned
from home to the event are of interest to your readers, providing a sense of
“being there.”
You should describe the setting for the event. Your work should detail the
type of venue you attended and include information related to the purpose
of the event. You should think about the journalistic questions of “who,
what, when, where, and why,” for this part of your work. Be specific about
when and where the event occurred.
You should describe the performers and include information about
instrumentation, setting, costuming, and stage behavior. Here are some
things to think about:
Were the musicians “engaged” or did they appear to be going through the
motions of performing. Did they communicate subtly with each other while
performing. Did they simply provide music or did they actively communicate
with their audience. Did they seem polished and skilled?
Describe in detail one or two songs that you especially liked. Were particular
musicans featured in solos? What was the style of the music? What was it that
you enjoyed about these songs?
Describe the makeup and behavior of the audience. Did they attend to
the music or treat it indifferently? With regard to the event, was the
music the primary or secondary focus?
Did you enjoy the event? What was it that made it enjoyable or not
enjoyable? What do you recall most vividly about the experience? You may
find it helpful to reflect upon the event for a few days, prior to completing
your paper.

Describe the assessments chosen, why these assessments were chosen (include purpose), and how the data from the assessment contributes to the developmental summary.

The case study, not including the cover page, references, and other appendices (such as copy of assessment), it should be a minimum of 8 pages long. Intro is basically why you choose this particular child, your relationship between the child and his/her family, and what you want to achieve after conducting the case study. For assessment, you can create your own and use pre-made one (in this case, cite the sources) through googling or professional literature. Once you start to work with the child and get to know him/her, the idea what to look for and ask come more clear so don’t worry too much. It should be at least 7-8 pages long (standard format, 12 font, double spaced) not including the cover page, appendices (such as assessment you have used with the child). For your intro, brief intro about the child and why and how you came to choose a specific child will do. FINAL PROJECT: CASE STUDY Your case study should begin with questions you have about the identified childs learning and development (yes you need to select a child (preK- grade 3)I dont recommend to work with your own but if you cant find anyone, you can work with your own child). You should then develop a plan to document the childs learning and development and the contextual influences on the childs development. Lastly, your case study should include recommendations for the child, based upon the evaluation of your assessment data. As you develop assessments, collect data from the child and family, plan interventions and reflect upon the processes, keep in mind appropriate ethical considerations for working with children and families (NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct). While each case study will be different based upon the child and the context; your outline should follow the basic format provided: 1. Introduction 2. Description of the child and the questions which focus the case study 3. Ecological Context Family Interview discussion Summary of the contextual factors which influence the childs learning and development (includes medical history and developmental milestones as needed) Summary of efforts to develop partnership approach with family 4. Childs Learning and Development Summary based on our own assessments Cognitive Development (include academic subjects as appropriate) Language Development Social/ Emotional Development Physical Development For each area of learning and development, use a meaningful mix of assessments, including running records, anecdotal records, checklists/rating scales, work samples, more formal assessment, and other assessment data you may have generated. Include the assessments you used and their results in the Appendices. You may consider using some of the assessments included in your textbook if they are appropriate for your child. Write a thorough summary of the data. Address each developmental domain. The summary should clearly reflect the assessment data collected. For example, you used checklist to assess a childs physical development. Then you have to explain why you used checklist, and how this checklist helped you and parents understand the childs physical development. You need to attach the checklist you have used as an appendix. You have to do this for every single developmental domain. 5. Recommendations/Intervention Based upon your original questions and your assessment of the childs overall development and ecological context, what recommendations or interventions would you suggest for the child? Why or what data supports these choices and why are these choices appropriate for the child? What teaching strategies and approaches are appropriate for this child and why? 6. Appendices The appendices should include the original assessment forms and the data from your assessments, including: Family Interview (Include health history information) Child Assessments For each assessment provide (as appropriate) the following: ? If you have used or adapted an existing assessment, the source of the assessment (full bibliographic reference) ? If you have created the assessment, any references you used to create the assessment *A complete report, documenting all required components of the case study is required with due dates as noted in the syllabus.

Markeitng Communications Assessment details Individual Presentation (25%) The in-module assessment for marketing communications will be a combination of independent and group activity.

Students will work within study groups for a joint purpose (undertake a communications environment assessment, determine target market and business objectives collectively) and will then be required to deliver individual presentations on separate assigned communications tools and media to meet objectives. This assignment is simulating the key inter-relationship between the client and its agency. Emphasis is placed on presentation skills (oral and written) and teamwork. These are very important factors in the real-life marketing communications environment. You are a Marketing Communications Agency. Company X is launching a new product/service (Choose your own product from the list in your seminar). You have been invited to pitch for the business. campany-Tiffany and co Task A: Group Tasks The group task: You are brand and marketing managers for Organisation X. In your group you must analyse the contextual environment affecting the organisation, identify and analyse an appropriate target market, develop a set of SMART objectives, an overall creative idea/content for the campaign and overarching brand/content idea for campaign. This will need to be completed by week 5. The group is required to develop their ideas using Padlet. Both the presentation and Padlet ideas board are opportunities to get formative feedback. The group will again come together for a final group discussion, that will be prepared in class, in week 11 explaining how their overall campaign meets the objectives within a specified budget and with a set media schedule. Task B: Individual Task The individual task: Each individual in the group is required to pitch the creative idea and provide an in depth exploration of how the business will meet specific objectives related to different tools and channels. For example, one individual in the group could present on outdoor advertising and mobile marketing, another could present on sales promotion and social media marketing, another could present on on- and offline-PR, another could present on direct marketing and email and affiliate marketing. Choice of focus on tools and medium must be discussed and approved by your seminar leader. The individual presentations will take place over 4 weeks. There is a 10-minute time limit for the individual presentations. Further detail on the presentation requirements will be provided in class. Assessment criteria Individual presentation criteria – Value Presentation component -Communication skills, quality of visuals, voice projection, clarity-5 -Engagement with audience-5 -Structure and flow of presentation-5 Creative component (includes any creative ideas or creative ways to present them)-15 Content component -Identification of SMART objectives specific to your tool-10 -Quality of and rationale behind recommendations (e.g. fit with target customers, marketplace characteristics and smart objectives)-50 Additional Guidelines: The whole group should have 3 overarching SMART objectives: one on awareness, one on perception and one on sales. Each individual presentation should be able to address one or two of these objectives with their own specific SMART objectives. It is the sub-objectives for each individual presentation that the rest of your presentation will be based on and marked on. The whole group should have an overall tagline that needs to run through all presentations. The whole group should have the same target market, but you can differ on how you reach your target market(s) depending on your product and how broad your target is. All members of the groups should be presenting as members of a marketing communications agency and should be presenting their ideas as a Pitch to the marketing manager of the brand that youre working on (i.e. your seminar leader is the marketing manager). The other tools- (Direct marketing, personal selling, trade shows, product placement, sponsorship) Here you can choose to focus on one or two of the other tools in your marketing communications tool bag. You dont need to cover all of them, just the ones that you think are most appropriate for your product. Again, you are building on the previous presentations which of the over-arching objectives will your strategies help to achieve? What characteristics of the target market are important in choosing and developing your tools(s), what elements of the product make these tools important/useful in your campaign? You have more flexibility in this presentation due to the variety of tools that you can discuss but like all the previous presentations you need to connect your objectives and elements of the target market to justify why what youre recommending is a good idea.
