begin drafting parts of your final project, focusing on your business requirements, competitors, and technology.

This assignment is an important practice opportunity for you to create a draft, and to get feedback from your instructor to improve your final draft.
The rubric reflects that this is a practice opportunity. You should focus on getting the necessary information into your draft. No draft is perfect.
This milestone aligns with sections I, II, and III of your final project. Use the questions in the critical elements as a guide.
You are free to work in the Final Project Template document or on a separate word document for your drafts.
o It is recommended you use the template to ensure you do not miss any items you need to address. The critical elements are highlighted in
yellow in the template. The decision matrix is not required for this milestone; however, you will be submitting the decision matrix in Milestone Two. It is recommended that you
use the template provided to help narrow your technology recommendation.
Prompt: Imagine that you work for the small brick-and-mortar business described in the final project case scenario. The owner of your business wants to focus
on generating new revenue through e-commerce, but she knows that this change in operations requires the company to integrate new technology. To gain an
understanding of what the business might need for technology, she has asked you to create a business systems analysis. In this analysis, you will clearly
introduce the problem that your business is facing. Then, you will determine the business requirements for solving that problem, including the requirements
that any new technology needs to meet.

collect 4 articles that relate to 4 different macroeconomic topics discussed this semester in class.

Refer to the Table of Contents, chapters 4 12, in your book for a list of eligible general topics. For each of the 4 articles, highlight or underline the salient points within the article. Take a photocopy of the article online (by using PrintScreen key or other snipping tools) and list the topic, source, author, date, page, and title of the article directly below the article in your writing assignment. You should put down the link to the article if it is from an online source. For each article of your writing assignments, write a 3 to 4 sentence summary as well as a 2 to 3 sentence personal impact (PI) statement explaining how the event or information may affect you as an individual. Articles can come from the same source but no more than 2 articles can come from the same week (Sunday through Saturday). Articles can be taken from any reputable online news source including publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Dallas Morning News, The Economist, and Time, and must relate to the course material. If you are not sure if an article is suitable, send the article link to me through email, or see me after class or come by during my office hours and I will be look it over with you and give you advice. You need 4 different articles that discuss 4 different macroeconomic topics. Some articles may cover more than one topic but can be used only once. For example, if you have found an article that talks about unemployment and inflation, it can only be used once for either unemployment OR inflation as the topic. Each article must be on a separate sheet of paper along with the information noted above. The cover page must have the following information: Last Name, First Name Econ. 1110.011 Fall, 2018 All 4 articles must be turn in electronically via Blackboard Turnitin Assignment and the instruction of due dates for turning in the assignment will be posted on Blackboard announcement section. Assignments will be accepted during the period announced on Blackboard. Late assignments receive a 50% penalty. Assignments turned in two weeks after the due date will receive a grade of zero. Refer to the Writing Assignment Example for guidance on how to complete each article. This assignment is worth a total of 40 points (10 points for each article) toward the final semester total of 1,000 points. Example With Link: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/11/upshot/liberals-wanted-fiscal-stimulus-conservatives-delivered-it.html Topic: Expansionary Fiscal Policy Source: NY Times Author: Neil Irwin Date: February 11, 2018 Title: Liberals Wanted Fiscal Stimulus. Conservatives Delivered it. The article is about the new fiscal policy and the different reactions to it. Many economists have been pushing for a more expansionary fiscal policy after the economic downturn in 2008, but they feel that the policy is being used at the wrong time or in the wrong way. There have been tax cuts for business owners that are supposed to help businesses put more money toward expanding and hiring more workers. According to the article, for the first time in 16 unemployment is very low and wages are rising a substantial amount. The hope with the new policy is to create more jobs at higher wages hopefully coaxing some discouraged workers back into the workforce. The fiscal policy impacts me because as a human I have to pay taxes and how much the government takes can affect my decisions and quality of life. In a contractionary policy taxes would increase therefore I would have less money for myself but in an expansionary policy the government collects less taxes meaning that more of my money would stay with me and government spending would increase therefor there would be more public goods and government funded jobs. The amount the government collects also affects the public services they produce and provide. More government jobs would also help stimulate the economy because there would be more money in circulation and there would be less unemployment.

examine the growth in human population in a world with limited space, food, water and energy.

Students will need to discuss how human population density is a factor in every environmental problem. Over population results in water shortages, pollution, poverty, inequality, human suffering, starvation and leads to territorial wars and refugee migrant invasions over arable land. The roles of engineering in addressing the pressing challenges facing our societies worldwide are widely recognized. Engineers are creative problem solvers. Engineers have designed and built infrastructure, machinery, tools and technology for clean drinking water, shelter and food production. Solutions designed within constraints of ethical engineering practice, grounded in science, engineering methods and standards that have evolved over generations. This paper closes with the contributions of the engineering community in delivering effective solutions and systems that make life possible.

Identify and define the methodology that the project manager used in the case scenario.

Subject: Project Management Read the case scenario (XYZ Company: StrikeZone) included in the Module Three Case
Scenario Rubric document.
After reading the case scenario, address the following:

Propose an alternative methodology that John should use moving forward. In general,
what are the benefits of using the proposed methodology? In addition to the
methodologies discussed in the course material, feel free to research additional
methodologies to choose from.
Provide two examples of how the proposed alternative methodology could help John
produce a prototype on time and aligned with BCL’s goals and vision.
In your responses to your peers, address the following:
Do you agree with their assessment of the methodology that was used in the case
scenario? Why or why not?
Summarize how this methodology could be applied in your present profession or even
outside of work.

Shows that the writer has read extensively about the issue and is thoroughly familiar with the conversation about it. States a clear position, possibly in the opening paragraph. Thoroughly develops the most convincing reasons for taking the position. Provides sufficient evidence in support of the reasons (example, statistics, expert testimony) to demonstrate that they are valid. Acknowledges opposing views; anticipates what objections might be made to the position and answers those objections as necessary. Your assignment Points possible: 3,000 (including 200 points for peer review) Up to 200 points may be subtracted for not participating fully in peer review. Length Requirement: Four to five (4-5) pages 8-1/2 x 11, double-spaced, 12pt Times New Roman (or equivalent), 1″ margins all around. PLUS additional Works Cited page. If your essay needs to be a little longer to fully explain and support your position, please feel free to add an additional page if needed. Version 1 due Wednesday, Week 10; peer review by Saturday, Week 10; Version 2 due Monday, Finals Week Write an essay in which you take a CONTRASTING position (rebuttal argument) on a viewpoint presented in the Opposing Viewpoints in Context database. Steps to follow when preparing to write the first version of this essay Go over Week 7 Reading on “Position Arguments” and “Finding Sources.” Also review the Driscoll article “Introduction to Primary Research” that you looked at when preparing to write your Observation Essay. For more information about writing a position paper, see: How to Write a Position Paper, Xavier University Library. Go to the Articles and Databases page of the PCC Library and select the Opposing Positions in Context database. Browse the issues to find one that interests you. (Refer to the Opposing Issues Tutorial on the library website for additional information on how to use this database.) Go to the page for that issue and read a number of the articles that you’ll find there to start getting acquainted with the discussions on this topic. Select one Featured Viewpoint or other Viewpoint that you DISAGREE with. Your essay will provide a REBUTTAL of the ideas presented in this viewpoint. Early in your essay, introduce the article and sum it up, and then go on to discuss why you disagree with it. Print the article so that you can annotate it thoroughly. Also save a copy as a .pdf file. You will be required to submit this with your essay (it’s not enough to just have the link to the original; it might not still be on the website at a later date, or may not be found in the same location). After studying the viewpoint article, do some additional research on your topic. Read at least two of the other relevant articles on the Opposing Positions website. Look for 5-10 other credible articles on the topic using ONLY other PCC library databases, and read them thoroughly. Articles not located in one of these databases will not qualify for this assignment. Finding articles: Go to the search box on the library homepage (see below). Click “articles,” and type in your search terms. If you don’t click “articles,” you’re searching the library catalog containing books, etc. If you wish to limit your search to peer-reviewed articles, check “peer reviewed.” After you get to the results page, you can look under “limit to” at the left-hand side of the screen and make sure that “full text” is checked. If it is, you’re limiting the search to articles that are available full text online — which you can access immediately from your computer. By default, the tool searches the EBSCO Academic Search Premier and MasterFile Premier databases. If you’d like to select additional databases to search, you can do so by clicking “choose other databases.” To get additional assistance searching, contact a librarian https://www.pcc.edu/library/about/people/contact/. Do some kind of field research on the subject (see ideas in “Introduction to Primary Research”). Informally or formally interview several friends or acquaintances and/or give them a survey to complete on the topic — or if relevant, you may make some type of field observation. After completing your preliminary research, decide your position on the issue, and create a working thesis. Remember, you will need to provide reason and evidence in support of your position, and you will need to acknowledge and discuss opposing viewpoints. Also, most controversial issues have long histories, which you should summarize briefly. Your essay must include direct quotes from the viewpoint article that you are responding to and direct quotes from at least three other articles discovered in your research. You may also mention additional sources and discoveries made in your field research. Be sure to use lead-ins to introduce the quotations and integrate them into your sentences (do not put a quotation in a sentence all by itself with no connection to your own writing). Strive to present a view on the topic that is uniquely your own. Before writing, review Week 8 Reading on Research Papers in the Purdue OWL. Put all of your sources on a list of Works Cited on a separate page at the end of your essay. Be very careful not to do anything that could be construed to be PLAGIARISM. Cite all your sources carefully. Indicate clearly where your own ideas begin and end, and where the ideas you’ve gotten from other sources begin and end. If you paraphrase or summarize, do this thoroughly, using your own words. Put ALL words (even significant keywords) taken from your sources in quotation marks. Write as if its your own idea to write on this topic and not a response to an assignment. Your essay should be written as if for publication. It should be able to stand on its own.
