PART I

Providing Body Paragraphs

Now that you have submitted an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement in the Module 5 Homework Assignment and an outline in the Module 6 Homework Assignment, you will provide a draft of your body paragraphs along with your introductory paragraph in this Module 7 Homework Assignment. As you develop your body paragraphs for Essay 2, remember that your body paragraphs should provide evidence and examples (utilizing your outside sources) to support the main argument (your thesis statement).

By providing completed body paragraphs in this assignment, it will help you inch closer towards a completed essay. You have already completed two major steps in the writing process, so body paragraphs will provide a more complete essay.

PART II

After you write your body paragraphs, you should write a couple of paragraphs in which you describe why you chose to organize your ideas this way, whether you are following the Classical, Toulmin, or Rogerian mode. Why is this particular organization useful for your argument?

Complete the following two parts to sell the product or service to two different audiences.

Part I:

Write a message to persuade your boss to invest capital resources to develop the product or service for sale.

Include secondary research to support your argument and explain what you will do in case the selected product or service does not initially sell as much as expected. Cite and reference sources using APA formatting.

Part II:

Write a sales pitch to sell the product/service to the end consumer. The sales pitch that you write could be part of a marketing campaign, which can be the verbiage for a commercial, a flyer, a message posted on social network, and so on. Make sure to identify the context, as per the examples, in which the sales pitch will take place.

Select the appropriate channel for delivering your message based on context, audience, and purpose.

Explain why you selected the channel.

Community Risk Analysis

Select a community other than the one where you live, and develop a risk assessment. Address the following in 4–6 pages:

Describe (briefly) the community and why you selected it (e.g., demographics, topography/geography, climate, criticality of CI, political issues).
Outline the risk portfolio of the selected community (e.g., flood zones; high-value terror target).
How did you compile that list?
What other risk portfolios and assessments for the community exist (e.g., local hazard mitigation plan, DHS assessments)? Explain.
Describe the critical facility or system that you selected, and describe why it is critical to the selected community.
What are the possible or probable outcomes of the risks that you identified as occurring as they relate to the whole community and, in greater detail, to the specific infrastructure you selected? Explain in detail.
What are the possible or probable cascading effects at the local, regional, national, or international level should one of the risks occur and affect the critical facility or infrastructure you selected? Explain in detail.

Research a sport business organization or individual (see sample list) and write a report that summarizes the organization’s products, services, major accomplishments, and other relevant information in relation to the sport industry.

In the next phase, ruminate on what you learned in your interview—especially anything that helped you to gain a deeper insight into the topics you studied in the course—and write a research and reflection paper in which you draw upon learning shared with your instructor and colleagues, your individual learning, and knowledge you have gained from the interview to demonstrate a more in-depth understanding of the foundational principles of management. In your paper, go beyond recitation of memorized facts or regurgitation of information; strive to synthesize the most important topics of management (i.e., leadership, personality, motivation, decision-making, communication, and the importance of good management to yourself and to society) into a hybrid research and reflection paper.

Your paper should integrate responses to each of the following questions in a well-organized and coherent paper:

What leadership precepts did your interviewee impart to you (or what can you glean on the topic as a result of your interview), and how do those dovetail with one or more of the modern theories of leadership?
How do the personalities of workers, colleagues, managers, and subordinates impact your performance in, and experience of, the workplace? How do they interact with one or more leadership models to create the most effective work environment?
