These new challenges are the result of the Internet increase in scope and complexity. While society is receiving great benefits from the Internet, they are also confronting a new type of crime, cybercrime.

You have been assigned the task of purchasing media for your client’s advertising campaign. In a two to four-page paper, discuss the steps you would use in determining how you would select a media venue. Describe each of the five W’s for your media planning. Describe the three most important rules of media buying and why they apply to your client.

Locate a news account or other written account of the crime: the abduction and murder of Jessica Lunsford. This should be detailed enough to provide the information required for processing a crime scene and locating the appropriate amount of evidence. You need to identify the location where Jessica Lunsford was held following her abduction as well as the site where her body was buried. Create a mock crime scene scenario based on the crime. Take notes as you would if you were a forensic technician in the field. You may type your notes into your Word document or scan your hand-written notes into a file and submit those. Document your activities from “Call Out and Briefing” through “Final Walk Through.” Process your crime scene in the manner described in Chapter 6: Crime Scene Processing. Indicate whether or not a search warrant would be required for the scene. If so, describe the process. Locate, collect, and process the evidence. You should include at least three of the following types of evidence, processed, collected, and documented as appropriate. You should submit an evidence report of each item used in your case. Fingerprint evidence Blood evidence Trace evidence Impression evidence Firearms evidence o GSR—Discuss the process required for your case, including suspect/victim processing. o Trajectory—Include a simulation of the use of a trajectory kit. Entomological evidence—Discuss the role of the evidence in your case and provide a description of proper processing methods. Discuss the role of physical evidence and explain the difference between class and individual characteristics. Document the role of forensic photography in the processing of your crime scene. Write a crime scene report on the crime scenario that you have developed using your notes and the appropriate report format. Create a final crime scene diagram using SmartDraw. Case Study—Caylee Anthony
Another highly publicized case was the murder of Caylee Anthony, which was initially handled as a missing person on July 15, 2008. After months of investigation, on December 11, 2008, the skeletal remains of a young child believed to be Caylee were discovered by a utility worker in a swampy wooded area within a half mile of the Anthony residence. Subsequent DNA analysis revealed that the remains were Caylee’s. Since Caylee’s skeletal fragments were small and scattered throughout the body dump site, the cause of death could not be determined by the medical examiner. This type of scene is referred to as a body dump: the person is killed elsewhere and transported to be left at the scene.

Analyze and report the changes that Caylee’s body underwent as a result of exposure to the elements at the body dump site. Present a plan for forensic processing of the site.

The current owners claim that the business is highly profitable, but Mary Ann has her doubts. She wonders why the owners would be so interested in selling the business if it is such a money maker. Furthermore, the price that they are asking seems high to Mary Ann. Without any formal training in accounting, Mary Ann asks a friend, Rolanda, for advice.

 

1. Rolanda suggests that Mary Ann may benefit from the services of a noncertified public accountant. Describe two (2) types of services that could be provided.
2. The auditor’s report has come back and Mary Ann is reviewing the financial statements. The current balance sheet shows that the business has more liabilities than assets. Why would this explain the need to sell the business? Provide two (2) supporting facts.

 

Rolanda suggests that, even with the negative owners’ equity, this business might still be worth buying. Describe one (1) other indicator within the auditor’s report that they should consider for this decision

How has Paine’s document influenced Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence?

You will complete an exegesis of a passage from the New Testament (employing methods of interpretation and perspectives, such as literary and historical context, literary form, and structure). Exegesis means to expound upon a text, to unpack a text of its many meanings. Elements of various types of criticism will be employed to further develop your ability to interpret the Bible. The paper should be 2000-3000 words in length and follow MLA style.

You should document your exegesis carefully. Be sure to use some material from the bibliography in the course Doc Sharing area for your exegesis, especially the biblical reference books. Below are some hints for successfully completing the paper:
1. Look up your passage in the New Testament.

2. Consult a general commentary (such as The Jerome Biblical Commentary, The New Jerome Biblical Commentary, or The Collegeville Bible Commentary).

3. Consult specific commentaries (see the course bibliography in Doc Sharing, e.g., Harrington’s Matthew’s Gospel, Fitzmyer’s The Gospel According to Luke).

4. Conduct a periodical search (through EBSCO) of your passage, limiting search to full-text, peerreviewed journals.

Use the checklist below to ensure that you are following the format properly:

1. Are all ideas documented (including page numbers)?

2. Are all quotations documented (including page numbers)?

3. Is there a works cited page?

4. Do the notes and bibliography include sources recommended by the syllabus?
