The Situational Leadership model

In this research paper, you will combine the research paper topic and annotative bibliography with the answers to the following bullet points:

• How does this theory address organization change?
• What are the leader’s behaviors and characteristics?
• What are the follower’s behaviors and characteristics?
• What situational characteristics does this theory work in?
• Provide two examples of this theory in action. (This can be based on theory or your own experiences.)

Your paper should be formatted to APA standards. This includes a title page, an abstract page, and a reference page. Your research paper should include the follow sections:
• research paper topic or introduction
• annotative bibliography
• name of the theory

This paper should be a minimum of eight pages in length (excluding the title, abstract, and reference pages). Be sure to include least five scholarly sources from the CSU Online Library in addition to the textbook.

Discussion—Implementing a Data Management System

With the implementation of business analytics, an organization will also need to implement a good information systems plan in order to collect, manage, and organize all of the data. Not only is an information system needed, but the data has to be organized in a structured way otherwise any queries will produce bad results. This could be catastrophic for an organization because managers would be making decisions based on bad data. To make sure that the query generates good reports, you need to think about how to best organize data for each of the markets you are exploring.
Using the Argosy University online library resources and the Internet, research ways of optimizing data organization.
Respond to the following:
• An organization does not have a good Management Information System (MIS) in place to help manage all of their data. What are some of the possible problems this could cause for decision makers?
• Assume you are going to conduct some research in the field of toy making. What are some of the items for which you would want to collect data? For example: market trends in toy making, latest sales nationwide, etc. How would these pieces of data help the company to determine what toy to release for the holiday market?
• With the implementation of an MIS for decision making, what would be some of the concerns related to ensuring that the organization can support the system? Would you control access to the system? Would there be someone to keep the data structures updated? Be sure to explain your ideas when answering these questions.
• Why would an organization want to create an implementation plan for the integration of a MIS? Is this something that needs to be well thought out and, if so, why?
Write your initial response in 300–500 words. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.

Identifying Themes

Develop a Title page, Abstract, and a References page. Articulate your main research/focal question as the opening for your paper. Be sure it is specific, researchable, and important to the field. Then go on to list a detailed outline of the body of the paper, (including all headings and subheadings). Be sure to format your entire paper, including the headings and subheadings according to APA style.

Write a relevant overview of at least two (2) companies.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper as an individual project, that includes the following:

  1. A relevant overview of at least two (2) companies that you research for this assignment.
  2. An analysis of each company’s internal and external environments, using an environmental scan.
  3. A description of each company’s competitive advantages in their respective markets.
  4. An analysis of each company’s business strategies, that answers the following questions:
    • How does each company create value and sustain competitive advantage through business strategy?
    • What measurement guidelines are used by each company to verify its strategic effectiveness?
    • How effective are the measurement guidelines used by each company?

Format your paper according to 400-level APA standards (see Writing & Style Guidelines in the eCampus Center for Writing Excellence for assistance). An abstract is not required, but the paper must include a Conclusion heading. The word count does not include the title and reference pages.

The Civil War and Reconstruction:Write a paper about an event in a period of U.S. history up to Reconstruction.

Write a paper about an event in a period of U.S. history up to Reconstruction. This paper must be written from the perspective of a specific historical figure from an under-represented population. Use this assignment as an opportunity to create an account from your subject’s perspective, to tell a history that people might not have seen interpreted the way you interpret it. Represent the person’s era and experience in context of what was happening around them, prioritizing their experience rather than the dominant experience. Possible perspectives include that of Anne Hutchinson, Pocahontas, or Sojourner Truth.

This paper must include a discussion of the following topics:

  • A thorough summary of the event, including the incidents that took place and the key individuals involved
  • The importance of the event in the larger scope of U.S. history
  • How the event changed the daily life of the person from whose perspective you are writing
  • A prediction for how the event will make a long-term impact in the lives of those in the under-represented group from which the perspective is being written (keep in mind that this perspective should be written from the time at which the event took place).

Please adhere to the following requirements for the paper:

  • Adhere to APA Referencing

  • Consist of at least four full pages but no more than six pages
  • Use at least five sources, including a scholarly journal article
  • Have an introduction and strong thesis
  • Make use of historical evidence and examples supporting your thesis
  • Finish with a forceful conclusion reiterating your main idea.

Analysis of Ambrose “Bierce’s Civil War Stories”

You can select to write about any story in Civil War Stories, even one we did not read together in class. Given the length of this paper, keep your focus very narrow and formulate an argumentative thesis about a particular aspect of the story. Be sure to avoid descriptive statements such as “Bierce uses the perspective of a young child in ‘Chickamauga.’” Rather, the following alternatives would be more effective: Bierce uses the perspective of a young child in “Chickamauga” because… (fill in the blank with a compelling argument) OR Bierce uses the perspective of a young child in “Chickamauga” in order to demonstrate… (fill in the blank with a compelling argument), OR As a result of using the perspective of a young child in “Chickamauga” Bierce is able to… (fill in the blank with a compelling argument). Be sure the body paragraphs (and there should be more than one!) support the thesis through a close reading of the text, which means that you must quote the story directly (and correctly!) at least four times in your essay. Be sure that your discussion remains focused on your specific argument throughout the course of the essay. Please note that you ARE NOT being asked to use any secondary sources in this essay. You are responding with a close reading of a story based on your ideas. You will use the story itself as evidence to back up your argument. You should end with a conclusion that avoids summarizing your essay. Focus instead on showing the ground covered in your discussion.

Research Paper Guidelines:  MUST BE AT LEAST 1500 WORDS.  When preparing and writing the research papers, students must be attentive to the following basic requirements. There is a Research Paper Guideline Document in Doc Sharing. It is imperative that students read and follow these guidelines to ensure a good grade. Included in Doc Sharing is a Research Paper Self-Assessment Checklist to assist students in evaluating the quality of the paper before submitting it for grading. When preparing and writing the research papers, students must be attentive to the following basic requirements. It is imperative that students read and follow these guidelines to ensure a good grade.

1) A research paper involves both the gathering of information and developing a student’s own interpretation of that information. The student must stay focused on his or her chosen topic and rely upon his or her sources for information about that topic. While a student’s own opinions about a topic are an important part of any research process, the student must be able to support his or her conclusions by direct reference to sources.

2) The writing must be clear, logical, and as free of spelling and grammatical errors as possible. A student should never submit a paper without rereading and proofing it. It may even be necessary to get someone to assist in this process by having him or her read the paper and check for mistakes. The student should not fail to run spell-check on his or her writing.
