Project 3. An analysis (800 words or more) of the argument of a Federalist Paper (100 points): Analyze the argument of one of the assigned Federalist Papers. (Brehe will tell you which to use.) The first paragraph should place the assigned Paper in the context of the entire work. The thesis should state the thesis of the Paper, and the body paragraphs should summarize the most important supporting arguments. The conclusion should emphasize the importance of the argument and its relationship to the preceding and following Papers. Use at least two quotations. Document your analysis carefully, using the MLA system. Every paragraph in the body should contain at least one parenthetical citation. Each quotation should be followed by a parenthetical citation. Place the Works Cited item(s) at the end of your analysis. You can use information from Kesler’s introduction if you like, but you must document that, too, including a separate Works Cited item. Your analysis will be graded on accuracy, organization and correctness (including good punctuation and sentence structure). Refer to your syllabus, especially the “Twenty Commandments” document and the “Commanomicon” as well as your handbook, when you revise and edit your project.
