Slave Narrative DatabaseUse the presentations in Module/Week 7 and the information from the North American Slave Narrative Database (http://docsouth.unc.edu/neh/) to complete this Discussion Board Forum. Your thread will require you to examine the narrative of a specific slave/former slave.
You will select a person to study from the database; they are plenty for each student to have a different person. You will need to contact your instructor via email as soon as possible with your choice. Your instructor will respond to confirm your selection and tell you to proceed, or let you know that person has already been taken and ask you to make another selection. You must get approval from the instructor before posting your thread.Make sure you select an individual with a sufficiently long narrative. You need information to explore and analyze. Carefully read the excerpt of the narrative from your chosen person. In your thread, analyze it using some of the ideas/principles found in the presentations. Complete 1 of the following: 2) analyze the narrative focusing on the importance and nature of the slave family, 3) analyze the narrative by looking at the role and significance of religion/music, or 4) analyze the narrative through the lens of the master/slave relationship. In your response posts, politely and critically investigate your classmates analyses. Are there any additional factors they should consider? Are their conclusions sound?Each thread must be 300 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, you are required to reply to 2 other classmates threads. Each reply must be 150 words.
