What data must be gathered to answer these questions? What type of research must be conducted?

n the previous lesson, you focused on reasons for a strategy and answering key strategic questions for our chosen company and identified your responses to these questions. You also received feedback from your professor. For this assignment, you will incorporate the feedback that you received from your first assignment and add a second component that focuses on the key tactical and operational questions. Imagine that you are in the beginning stage of strategic planning in this company and that you have been tasked with leading the strategic planning process. This strategic planning process will take approximately the next 7 weeks. In this first week, you have gathered organizational leaders to introduce the strategic planning process. They have asked you to make a presentation on your initial thoughts to the really big questions. You also want to guide them to work together over the next 7 weeks on gathering data so you can eventually have concrete and specific answers to the key tactical and operational questions. For your meeting, you will create a report to share with these organizational leaders summarizing your responses to the really big questions and introducing the key to tactical and operational questions. Include the following in your report: Summarize the highlights of your responses to the strategic questions.
Communicate your initial thoughts to the key tactical questions. Your report should not focus on full and complete answers to these questions; rather it should be a presentation to the leadership to identify the most important considerations that your company must consider when answering these questions over the next 7 weeks.
Conclude by asking the team of organizational leaders to perform specific tasks over the next week to take the next step in the strategic planning process.

Select a company that you currently work for or a company that you previously worked for.

ORSelect a business in which you would eventually like to work (see the Week 1 resources for the SWOT analysis of several options to choose from).
Be sure to only choose one of the options listed above. You will use this company in each of your subsequent assignments; so carefully consider choosing a company that you are interested in and want to research. It is also recommended that you choose a company with which you are familiar and you know you have the ability to research because of your personal experience with the company or because there is information readily available (e.g., Apple, Walmart, Target, Ford, etc.). For this assignment, examine the reasons for strategic planning for your chosen company, and then identify the possible answers to the strategic questions. You may have more than 1 answer for each question, but limit yourself to the 2 most likely or promising answers. You may not have answers to all your questions at this time, you will have the opportunity to add clarity and detail in future weekly later assignments. For now, keep your answers real, but dont be afraid to stretch for what might be possible!By way of review, strategic questions are those that we ask regarding what the organization primarily does and who are the primary beneficiaries.
