Theory in the realm of health promotion is an abstract, “conceptual framework” that can be used to design or evaluate health promotion interventions or health behaviors themselves (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, n.d.).

The planning process of a health program can use theory as a design tool to create a more effective, better targeted program that is unique and not held back by the constraints of a defined, specific plan that may not produce any tangible results. Using theory in health promotion requires understanding of health behaviors so that they can be properly configured to address those behaviors in order to illicit change. Theory delves into the ‘why’ of behaviors and programs in order to better explain them and possibly predict them in the future. One of its main uses is to create or guide change in behaviors from an individual level, all the way up to a community level (Davies, MacDowall, & Cragg, 2013). Theories that are used in health promotion programs are mostly borne from behavioral and social theories but due to their malleable nature, they can be implemented to create health behavior change.-Christian Thomsen Davies, M., Macdowall, W., & Cragg, L. (2013). Health Promotion Theory (Vol. Second edition). Maidenhead, Berkshire: McGraw-Hill Education. Theory plays a vital role the research for programs to be generated in health promotion, it is likely to be link with all the interventions utilized when constructing a proper frame of work for any strategy designs that in this case health promotion can rely on, but it is also important to add, it is when these theories are verified and any gasps are fixed that we could go forward with the design. The use of theory must be the foundation of the construction and the design of strategies for interventions to follow and proper use of tools for the construct of a targeted promotion to health (Sales, Smith, Curran & Kochevar, 2006).The use of tools to guarantee the proper outcomes after the theories have been formulated and generated should provide guidance that directs to reach three main points in health promotion. The strategies should be able to enable, mediate and advocate the promotion of healthy behaviors in ways the consumers can understand and be able to relay to others (Merzel & DAfflitti, 2003).ReferencesMerzel, C., & DAfflitti, J. (2003). Reconsidering community-based health promotion: Promise, performance, and potential. Models, Strategies, and Tools: Theory in Implementing Evidence-Based Findings into Health Care Practice. Retrieved from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2557135Health promotion can go so far as to reduce disease risk, unhealthy lifestyle behaviors and chronic illness with an inverse result of improving well-being in communities. For there to be success, there needs to be a way to deliver knowledge and know how. The development and refinement of theories is a way to deliver accomplish this.
Christian argued, the role of theory in Health Promotion is a way to get to the why a target group demonstrates a certain behavior which provides insight to future behavior patterns.
Hilary gave perspective on how health promotion theories are a way to explain community behaviors.
Like Christian, she believes that understanding theories as they relate to health promotions are the catalyst for achieving the desired community behavior change. Authors of Reconsidering community-based promotion: Promise, performance, and potential (2003) supported these arguments and argued the emphasizes should be a community-based approach to health promotion and disease prevention (Merzel & DAfflitti, 2003). Francisco suggested it is vital to identify and fix any gaps in the theories which affect the community behavior goals. He further suggested theory promotion strategies should also be for community members to understand and reverberate or easy to communicate. Like myself, my classmates believe theories are the fruit health planners need to squeeze and to shape a community to get the best juice ie achieve a behavior goal.
Respectfully,
Jeremiah

Choose at least two films for evaluation. Total running time of the films you choose to review must be at least 90 minutes. Identify your choices in the introduction to your memo.

This assignment requires you to a) develop a list of evaluation criteria (four or five is good) appropriate to the media you plan to evaluate, b) evaluate the films you select c) write a memo presenting your evaluation and conclusions. 1. Go to the Films on Demand link https://fod.infobase.com/p_Home.aspx. Peruse the films on ethical issues in business listed under Business Technology: Social, Ethical, and Legal Issues and under Ethics and Business Law: Business Ethics. 3. Evaluate each site according to your criteria, which you should explain in the introduction to your memo. For this assignment, you must use “content” as one of your criteria. Other recommended criteria are “organization,” “timeliness/relevance,” “technical quality,” and “usefulness/effectiveness.” 4. Be sure to include evidence (examples) to support the statements you make about the films. Your method of evaluating the sites should be clear. This is one area in which the attached samples could be stronger. 5. Rank the films in your conclusion and explain the ranking. The films you choose should be good quality. Avoid choosing films about which you have few positive comments. 6. Make a recommendation to use or not use the film for classes. 7.

the importance of aligning your career and financial goals.

Now that you have identified your desired job titles and financial goals 3 months, 18 months, and 5 years from now and you have compared your desired salary to the average salary for these titles, you can figure out whether your financial and career goals are a “match.” Begin by writing a paragraph on each of your three goals. Give details of each goal including (1) Why you have decided to set this goal, (2) How you plan to accomplish it, and (3) How you will know that you have accomplished this goal, (4) the date upon which this goal will be complete, and (5) the weekly or monthly steps you will take toward the goal. Each of your paragraphs should be 5 – 7 sentences in length. Next, write a brief reflection (8 – 10 sentences) on whether your career goals are in alignment with your financial goals. Be honest with yourself! If there is a big difference between your financial goal and the average salary for your job title, then your goals are NOT in alignment. If they are in alignment, then great! Tell us what your plan is for continuing to work toward those career goals you have set. If they are not in alignment, then tell us how you plan to adjust:

What image comes to mind when thinking about this theory or point in history?

A. Create TimelineCreate a timeline in Word that discusses the history of learning. Be sure to include the following points on your timeline:Plot the historical point at which observable behavior was studied.
Plot the historical point at which cognitive behaviorism and cognitive mapping was studied.
Plot the historical point at which memory and learning began to be studied.
Be sure to include at least one self-created image, graph, diagram, mind map, etc. per historical point. Also, be sure to include at least one outside source per historical point.
When plotting each point on your timeline, be sure to answer the following questions:Who was the lead researcher? Were there other contributors?
Explain the importance of the related theory on the timeline point.
Explain how animal research was conducted to support this theory.
What other factors were important at this historical point?

After reflecting on what you learned from the activities described above, write a coherent, well organized essay 3-5 pages identifying 1) at least three significant observations about grant seeking or proposal writing that these experiences have made clear to you, and 2) what changes you plan to make to your own proposal as a result of having completed this exercise.

The following prompts are offered as food for thought for your reflection, rather than specific instructions (dont attempt to answer them!). Or you may want to identify your own ah-ha! revelations about grant seeking in this reflection. In any case, be sure to support your main points with examples or explanations, and credit external sources as necessary following APA style guidelines.
What criteria were important to you when playing the role of a funder, and why? What was most useful to you as a reader to see in the proposals you reviewed? What does that imply for grant seekers? Did you notice any strategies or techniques that would have improved the quality of the proposal that you submitted, and if so, what were they? How do these align with recommendations offered by the grantmakers panel? What didnt work in proposals you reviewed, and why was that information or approach not compelling or helpful? What are some examples of what the real grant makers said not to do in a funding request? Were your perceptions similar to the professionals’? What difficulties might grantmakers run into when trying to respond to so many worthy proposals? What can grant seekers do to help the funders better understand and remember their proposals, and what can they do to make their requests stand out from the rest?
Scoring Criteria:

The ethnographic method allows the ethnographer (Kozol, in this case) to get to know the ins and outs of the lives of the people they study. What do you feel are the benefits and shortcomings of this type of investigative endeavor?

Final Essay Rubric:On one side, you have a small group of poor, entrenched, young black men and their respective families who, if you’re to accept Kozols or Leovoys portrayal, are beholden to the other side of the equation: the police and the courts. It becomes quite apparent after reading Kozols book that the lives that these “fugitive” people lead can be best described as stymied. Stymied: the term originates from the game of golf, where an opponent’s ball blocks access to the hole. However, in this instance, for the young men Kozol studied in all of those schools, the authorities–the ones who are sworn to protect and serve a community–are blocking key avenues of success in our society. Namely, education and employment. In Ghettoside, Leovoy addresses black on black crime as an issue the entire community needs to be aware of. What responsibility does a community have to all parts of its community if this is the case? If you choose to not accept this, then your argument will serve as a way to illustrate what is wrong with the system in reverse. Rather than addressing issues of indignities of life in an economically disadvantaged community, you will address how its citizens do not create opportunities for themselves or perhaps break the cycle of crime for a different future. Perhaps this could be an area where you focus on what the authorities must deal with in these types of communities as well. *~~~ Remember to have at least three outside resources plus resources from Ghettoside and consider using Savage Inequalities if you choose to address education as part of your thesis. In addition to researching this topic, address how effective or ineffective the authors are in their techniques writing these novels. Consider how the ethnographic/observation method varies from the journalist perspective as it relates to the community that they observe, document, and analyze. ~~~*
How does perspective influence the reader in examples such as Ghettoside? What happens when the criminal justice system extends its reach into every facet of a communitys daily life? Please be sure to reflect on what’s seemingly missing in this particular community. For example, empathy, trust, connectedness, etc. What examples do each author focus on the illustrate this for the reader? In what ways does intensive policing (unsolicited stops, household raids, occupying schools and hospital waiting rooms, etc) impact a neighborhood and its policing departments? How is black on black crime a problem for the whole society or community? Consider issues such as black lives matter and other social movements like it.Is there a way to preserve the humanity of a “criminal” as well as that of the community? For example, why is that we begin discussions around social issues such as race with negative subjects? What impact does this have on the conversation? How do the authors help or hurt in preserving the humanity of the people they write about? How does environmental racism play a role in the communities observed in these novels and what limitations do the authors have in terms of reaching the people of these communities? How does this idea relate to financial disparity in these communities?~ You are free to choose the direction of this essay!~

Write an essay describing the physiological mechanisms in place for a particular body system to maintain homeostasis of a particular factor such as blood calcium, fluid volume, and blood pressure.

While normal functioning should be the main focus of the assignment, it should however
include a brief description of how homeostasis is disrupted leading to the appearance of disease
identified in the topic provided. Please note, the disease process is a minor focus.
The assignment will also require the construction of a concept map that summarises how a
physiological system maintains homeostasis normally and how it can be disrupted to cause
disease.
