Critically analysing the nature of SHRM models and theories in relation to the HR and Leadership issues

Critically analysing the nature of SHRM models and theories in relation to the HR and Leadership issues discussed in component 1 [LO2] Within this section of the assignment you will be expected to critically analyse the SHRM models e.g. Ulrich & Brockbank/Caldwell / Storey /Harvard etc and highlight how the key HR and Leadership issues identified in Component 1 is affecting the implementation of these models in Morepheus. Please do not start explaining the issues already stated in Component 1. I will upload component 1 so you know what i did and have some more background info Ensure you are being critical with your analysis therefore you will need to relate any issues back to the models/theories covered . Depending on the models you are using and provided if it is relevant to the model, you would need to explore the unitarist/ pluralist approach (if applicable), how the models consider the stakeholders, evolve around the best fit/ best practice. Evidence of wider reading and research would include examples of other organisations identified in journals or periodicals that have had similar issues in the past. Critically evaluating the implementation of SHRM policies and practices and state how they would assist the business to better utilise its ‘people’ assets and support the organisational strategy [LO3] You will be expected to suggest SHRM policies e.g. Employee Engagement / HRD / Talent Planning / Employee Relations / Performance Management and critically analyse and discuss how these policies needs to be implemented, what impact and influence would it have for Morpheus. You also might want to include whether you will have a best fit / best practice approach in implementing these policies. Make sure you also critically analyse your policies. You also need to state how to manage these changes e.g. using different change management models / consulting the models discussed in the Implementing Organisational Change session (Slides available on MyBeckett). Evidence of wider reading and research would include examples of organisations implementing similar policies and the impact on organisations. Critically analysing the impact of wider organisational cultural, diverse workforce and ethical issues faced by leaders during the implementation of SHRM policies at MORPHEUS and their implications upon individuals and the business [LO4] Some part of this section e.g. organisational culture can be combined / embeded with the previous part. In this section, you need to identify what are the overall implications of your policies to the ?? organisations and the leadership. You can use the Balanced Scorecard approach as well as the HR Metrics in identifying how the policies ensure the vertical and horizontal alignment. A plan of action that the leaders within MORPHEUS should now take to ensure that the HRM strategy is realised. For this section, you are expected the summarise and state an action / implementation plan outline how your stated policies will address the different contextual HR and Leadership issues identified so far, how it is going to be measured, how will it be ensured that it is an ongoing process so that the flow is there. I have uploaded component 1 i have uploaded various powerpoint and marking schemes i have also attached the case study for you to look at any more info do not hesitate to ask As it is a report it will need to have a Table of contents , Executive Summary , Conclusion and appendixes . Within the recommendations they must have theoretical background to link why its a good recommendation so talking about different perspective . So when it comes to Discussing theory explain the theory don’t assume the reader understands what your saying analysis the pros and cons . Criticise the model .So what i mean by this is what have people said about the model whats been said has it been positive or negative so an example of this would be saying in 2010 their was a study saying this about the model but then further on in 2014 their was a study saying this about the model so criticising the model with research shown . Their needs to be a good flow in the report so always give a mini into to whenever your talking on a new section . So within the intro you can give the background of the company the several hr issues which are shown in the case study don’t explain the issues just touch on them briefly . Clarity, fluency and logical layout of assignment with all work duly referenced and a full list of references according to Harvard Referencing Style (5 marks) so this criteria needs to be met also the marking criteria has also been attached so if you could follow Recommended Reading: Rees, G and Smith, P.E.(2017).
