Deep political dissent and complex divisions of power between EU institutions, as well as between Member States, further hampered the European Unions ability to respond, exacerbating long-standing tensions that persist several years on. The aim of the study is to use a qualitative methodology to evaluate the responses of the European Union to the migrant crisis from the perspective of International Relations.
