Requirements:In Unit 3, we will connect these ideas; you have the opportunity to research one of the following representations of risk as the subject of a 7-10 page research paper that offers meaningful analysis of your topic:
A text that embodies a certain kind of risk, per the above.
A work of art in any genre (music, dance, film, visual art, or architecture) that embodies a certain kind of risk, political, cultural, structural, investigative, financial, or artistic, in changing the terms of the genre.
A text that embodies a certain kind of risk, per the above.
Your paper must include both scholarly sources and popular sources, with a minimum of three popular sources and two scholarly sources. We will review the difference between these during our library session and in class.
Your paper will also analyze at least two primary sources. Secondary sources will be comprised of both scholarly and popular sources, as per above.
You must have a Works Cited page, and in-text citations, that are in MLA format. We will review citation in-depth in class on November 12.
Your paper must have a clear and analytical thesis, subtopics that develop and support your thesis, and a counter-argument. Additionally, your paper will have an introduction, applying some of the ideas for an enticing but concise introduction that we explored in Unit 2, and a conclusion.
