Proposal and Critical Review of Sources

Your essay should propose a theme for investigation addressed by two poets that you can develop in a final essay. The proposal must also review and comment upon what critics have said about these poets, especially about the theme you have selected. You are required to paraphrase and quote from a minimum of five (5) different sources. The proposal should answer the following:
Who are these poets? (Note: Both must be published poets writing in English)
What do your sources say about these poet, their themes, and their poems? Do your sources address the theme or ideas related to the theme you plan to discuss?
Why have you chosen these poets and this theme? Why are you interested in this topic?
Which poems you plan to discuss and why?
How will you investigate your topic and develop your ideas further?

The proposal must include:
*Works Cited page with an annotated bibliography of at least five (5) sources, two (2) of which must be from an electronic library data base, and

*Appendix: Photocopies of 1) first or last page of every source in your bibliography, 2) pages highlighting quoted and paraphrased material, AND photocopies of the POEMS you plan to discuss.

Format: USE MLA STYLE FOR THE PROPOSAL. It should be typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins, and have a working title that indicates the theme for investigation. Be sure to use in-text documentation!

Topic: Compare and contrast two (2) published poets writing in English on the same theme.
For example, you might propose to compare a love poem by Nikki Giovanni with a love poem by Paul Laurence Dunbar. Or, you might research how two different poets write about the Civil Rights Movement. How does each treat the theme? Are their treatments alike or different? What accounts for these similarities and differences? Are they more alike or more different?

Watch the film either before or after you read the book (your choice). In your essay, please address not simply how the content differs, but also look closely at the formthe presentation and execution of each (book and film) as works of art. Look at the choices made by the author or director or screenwriter and ask, “What is the effect?”

Then, present your findings in a formal essay with a thesis statement and supporting paragraphs that include quotations and examples from the book and film. One way to approach your essay is to choose three or four elements to compare and contrast in book vs. movie, using the handout with literary terms and literary elements, such as the following: Point of view: Who is telling the story? Do we trust the narrator? Why or why not? How is the book narratedwith first person, third person, or multiple narrators? What about the film? Character development: What aspects of the main character are developed in the book vs. movie? What about supporting characters? Plot elements: Conflict, rising action, falling action, climax and resolution. Which one is most strikingly different in book vs. movie? Language and style: Does the books language differ from that in the film? What literary devices show up in the book? What stylistic (i.e., formal) choices show up in the film? What are the effects of these artistic choices? Time: How does the film address and work with time? How does the book do the same? Audience: Is the audience the same for both book and film? Why or why not? What choices did the author or director make in order to meet the needs of audience members?

Technology has taken us into the wireless age, with no one looking back. Is this organization too far into decline to have any sort of rebound, even if they do attempt to move into the wireless industry?

Respond to each of the (4) discussions by either agreeing and disagreeing and why. Use 100 words and (2) references.Business Policy Discussion 1:Identifying the Wired Telecommunications Carriers as being in a decline is accurate, and there does not seem to be any movement toward wired communications again probably ever. There are few assets of value that another company could consider to purchase, as the employees and the hardware are all outdated. Is there a sign that a company should just simply close their doors and dissolve, or is there a desire to run the company until there are no longer any customers/products? Can an organization close gracefully? Any additional thoughts?
Business Policy Discussion 2:The organizational life cycle describes the different developmental stages of a company. It demonstrates the stages of growth, development, and how a company eventually declines. Our text list the five stages of the organizational life cycle as: Birth (Stage 1), Growth (Stage 2), Maturity (Stage 3), Decline (Stage 4), and Death (Stage 5) (Wheelen et al., 2018). The stage of my choice is the growth stage. According to a source on productcyclestages.com the growth stage is a key stage in the cycle, where the organizations position is established within the market and the profit margins increases. This stage is achieved through continued development using marketing and promotional activities. The benefits of the growth stage lead to greater consumer awareness and increase in profit.South Carolina Federal Credit Union is currently in its growth stage. The corporation moved from a community charter, providing financial solutions to underserved geographic areas, to a multiple common bond to pursue its growth strategy (Cooke, 2018). A multiple common bond provides more opportunities for members to join the credit union, such as through a selected employer, family relationship, or through association (a charitable organization). Since the conversion, SCFCU has acquired several different credit unions through mergers, and opened several financial centers in South Carolina. The corporation is also in the process of opening several new locations in the coming year. The mergers and established locations support the SCFCU growth strategy; by increasing the credit union asset size and providing more flexibility in meeting the demands of its members.ReferencesCooke, S. COLLAPSE
Describe the possible impact of monitoring and controlling risk on future projects. Provide at least one example of how effective risk management can affect the outcome of future projects. While there is no guarantee that monitoring and controlling known risk will result in a perfect project, in doing so, it drastically reduces the probability of unfavorable events taking place or preparing for the events that are inevitable. In effort to control risks, Pinto mentions that key information needs to be identified such as: specify the risk that have been identified, dedicate key personal to track and vouch for the risk, confirm a time frame for the risk mitigation to occur, identify the contributing factors that caused the risk, and establish a detailed plan (Pinto, 2016). The impact of monitoring and controlling risk on future projects allows a historical data base to be established and creates a chronological event calendar to see when the risk are likely to take place in the project(PMBOK, 2013).In a risk management case study involving the oil and gas industry, effective risk management assisted their future projects a great deal. Through the study, the researcher indicates that the main risks of the industry are industrial accident, natural disaster, resource availability, and political instability (El-Reedy, 2016). After identifying the risk and applying a value to each, they then proceeded to implement actions to mitigate the risk. Some of the results that were applied to future projects are: carrying appropriate insurance to cover natural disasters, implement hedging strategies to forecast product price shifts, and increase the emphasis of general safety throughout the organization (El-Reedy, 2016). Identifying these risks will allow the organizations to properly plan and mitigate risks appropriately to meet the needs of each project.References:A guide to the project management body of knowledge: PMBOK guide. Risk management Discussion 2:Monitoring and Controlling RiskFuture projects are impacted by the monitoring and controlling of current projects. Project managers use risk registers to list risks, identify warning signs, track risk responses, and record outcomes (PMI, 2013). Periodic risk audits help to track current risks and to identify new risks that may come up in a project (Hall, n.d.). Project managers and their teams can refer to all previous project risk documentation as guides to help prepare for current or future projects. Lessons learned can be applied to future project to reduce the likelihood of pitfalls reoccurring.Future projects may be impacted by proper risk management techniques applied to the project budget and schedule. It is best to deal with budget and schedule risks as they occur, then document any adjustments that are needed (Bates, 2013). Additionally, to justify a project contingency reserve, it may be necessary to show proof of how previous projects were handled. Controlling and monitoring the contingency reserve and then documenting the outcome can help establish a trend in successful project management risk mitigation.Effect of Risk Management on Future ProjectsEffective risk management practices can be applied to each project with the project managers knowledge and experience increasing with each subsequent project. A project manager may collect risk management reports for each project risk on their first project. They can then create a database of each risk, the responses, and the outcomes of the responses so they can retrieve information easily when working on similar projects. One area of risk management that may affect the outcome of future projects is how the project manager reassesses risk throughout the project life cycle. If the project manager only identifies the risks at the beginning of the project, but then does not have any risk meetings or audits throughout the project, they can document this lack of efficiency when they close out the first project. When they are ready to begin their next project, they can refer to the difficulties they encountered on the first project and schedule risk meetings for the new project. As the project manager gains more experience, they will learn new tools and techniques for dealing with risk that they can apply to each new project. ReferencesBates Jr, A., (2013). Create a plan to house the contents of an archival collection. You will be provided with the finding aid for the collection, and a separate list of the numbers of items of different types. (300 photographs, 1000 paper documents, etc.)

The purpose of the assignment is to use the information from the finding aid to predict the types of materials you would expect to find in the collection and then describe how you would make decisions about re-housing them. Through this assignment, you will apply knowledge about the preservation of library and archives collections gained during the semester to
carry out a common preservation planning activity.
Your answers to these questions should be provided in the form of a research paper, written in prose, with an introduction and conclusion. You should include facts and possibly direct quotations to support your arguments and cite them using a notes and bibliography citation style.Note that although the assignment is based on a real collection, you are not expected to look at the actual collection, but are expected to use the list of items and formats in the finding aid to bring in universal facts about preservation of library and archives collections.Detailed instructions for the contents of your report (please be sure to address each of these areas as instructed):
Re-housing:
– In determining the specific formats that might be present in the collection, use information from the finding aid to guide you. Example, if there are 100 photographs, and the collections creator lived between 1840 and 1920, what types of
photographic processes would you expect to find (e.g. glass plate negatives, matte colloidion prints and so on). Youll have to make assumptions, which you should explain. Then, be guided by the choices youve made in specifying the housing types you will need. –Glass plate negatives require four-flap envelopes and padded storage, etc.
– For assessing storage needs, assume that every item will need to be re-housed (and also disregard any descriptions of current housings in the finding aid).
– In describing the housings you would select for each type of object in the collection, be specific about the materials they are made from and how they should be designed. This assessment should be detailed enough to form the basis of an actual plan for housing: for example, if foldering, how many objects per folder? Why? What should the housing
materials be made from?
– Four formats are selected from your collection list with a star. For these four, please choose an actual product from a suppliers catalog and indicate the number of supplies you would purchase for your need, along with costs, presenting this information in a table. In your narrative, please indicate why you are making this particular selection. Note that in answering why it is not important to justify the choice of supplier, but only your rationale for the housing materials and
strategy.Barbara Curtis Adachi Bunraku Collection
