Training and Organizational Development (OD) proposal and presentation

Instructions: The Final Project requires you to develop a Training and Organizational Development (OD) proposal and presentation to senior management targeted at improving diversity training within an organization of your choice. Many organizations have extended the management of diversity programs beyond HRD programs and processes by changing human resource management (HRM) policies and programs to meet the special needs of the new workforce. A growing number of organizations are holding line management accountable for diversity goals. For example, incorporating diversity goals into their performance evaluation process, and measuring improvement in relation to pre-established target goals annually. As the HRD manager of your organization, what new training programs and processes would you propose to senior management to develop effective recruiting and selection methods to attract more minorities and women to your organization? Explain how HRD methods can be used to help manage a culturally diverse workforce. For example, how will you overcome language and discrimination issues that will ultimately lead to a climate in which all employees can thrive within the organization and contribute to its success? Submission Instructions: Submit your work as an MS Powerpoint (.ppt) presentation (Note: no other slide presentation software will be accepted for grading). To be eligible for full credit, your presentation must include at least 12 content slides, in addition to a title slide, introduction slide, and reference slides at the end of your presentation (i.e., the minimum number of slides is 15). Your grade will be based upon research conducted, effectiveness of the proposed training program, the credibility and appearance of the PowerPoint presentation, critical thought, and APA format. In addition, students are expected to use the Notes section of the PowerPoint presentation to enhance the depth and scope of the narrative portion of their presentation, while avoiding lengthy narrative on the PowerPoint slides. Refer to Purdue OWL (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/17/) for APA PowerPoint Slide Presentation Guidelines. Please support your ideas, arguments, and opinions with independent research, include at least five (5) supporting references or sources (NOT Wikipedia, unknown, undated, or anonymous sources) in the reference section, and properly cite all references within the text of your PowerPoint presentation, in accordance with the 6th edition of the APA manual, chapters 6 & 7.

It is not expected that you will develop the training / development materials nor implement the project, but will provide a thorough argument for the approach and activities included. In Part 2, you will document how you will evaluate your program using Kirkpatricks four level taxonomy (Figure 7.1). These are also included on the last pages of this syllabus. What specific process do anesthetics impair, and how does this interfere with nerve impulse transmissions? 5. In the Netherlands, a young man names Jan was admitted to the emergency room. He and his friends had been to a rave. His friends say he started twitching and having muscle spasms which progressed until he was Stiff as a board. On examination, staff found a marked increase in muscle tone and hyperreflexia involving facial and limb muscles. In his pocket, he had unmarked dark yellow tablets with dark flecks. Analysis of the tablets showed them to contain a mixture of ecstasy and strychnine, ecstasy would not cause this clinical picture, but strychnine, which blocks glycine receptors, could. Explain how.

Do researchers and IRB members know the federal regulations?

The NIH course Protecting Human Research Participants is an excellent source of knowledge for nurse practitioner who are dedicated to conduct research on ethical and social issues. This course gives a guideline related to essentials of ethical research when dealing with human participants. The knowledge I have gained from this course increased my understanding of the fact that research participants should be the primary responsibility of the researcher. Hence, any threats to their safety shall be well-documented in the protocol and should be communicated to the participants prior to research conduction. This makes the informed consent process transparent and ethical for research conduction (Johnson, Brems, Hanson et al. 2014).
I work in a rehabilitation and long-term care, and find my department vigilant about transparency of informed consent process during research conduction. The research protocols are verified by the ethics review committee of our hospital. The confidentiality of data and privacy of research participants is consistently checked across the research conduction process. The principles of justice, autonomy and beneficence are the guidelines which helps the researcher in making ethical decisions throughout the research conduction process (Johnson, Brems, Hanson et al. 2014).
The ethical committee of our hospital consisted to two experts of ethical research, a scientific research expert, nursing professionals and professionals from diverse health disciplines (Tene and Polonetsky, 2016). The principle of autonomy states that participants shall be free to make decisions and researcher cannot manipulate the participant into compromising their autonomy. The principle of beneficence also ensures that participant safety is not compromised by the researcher (Tene and Polonetsky, 2016).

Post 2After completing the Ethics and Human Subject protection, I believe it is a reminder of why ethics in research are so important. I believe we have all heard about the Tuskegee Trials, in which impoverished black men were told they were receiving free treatment for bad blood while researchers were aware that they had syphilis and were doing nothing to actually treat it, in an effort to research that effects of syphilis. In 1947, researchers were made aware that penicillin was a treatment of choice for syphilis, they continued to do nothing to inform the subject or treat them for the disease (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, n.d.).
The hospital that I work for does have an IRB. On their website, they have information regarding the IRB, as well as contact information for participants that have volunteered to be involved in clinical trials. Also, on the hospitals IRB website, there is a list of policies and procedures for all the research conducted at the hospital. Most of the information found on the hospitals IRB website has public access and does not require an employee login. The hospital also has an Office of Research Administration, in which anyone who would like to conduct research at the hospital, must contact first (Institutional Review Board, n.d.).
