Case Comparison

This paper is to have an introduction, body and conclusion.
paper will be one where you compare TWO significant cases related to criminal
procedures. These cases will come from your research of constitutional issues noted
below.
You will use the case brief guidelines to help compare the two cases which will
have similar legal issues. The Constitution and the 4, 5, 6, and 8th amendments are the
key documents you will use. Make sure you use the case number/year for cases
written about. This is an actual “judge ruled” case with a court number and not one of
public opinion such as “OJ or “Casey” or “Trevon/Zimmerman”. DO NOT use cases
noted in discussion boards or used in assignments.
Format: see announcement for the format to be used.

CASE BRIEF GUIDELINES
The case briefs, with appropriate case number/year will the following:
FACTS: 3-9 sentences summarizing the important facts.
ISSUE: Usually there is only one issue in a case. It generally asks a constitutional question or raises a constitutional issue and set out why a case is important.
HOLDING: The holding generally answers the constitutional question raised or addresses the issue raised.
REASONING: (The most difficult part of the brief.) Explain why the court held or decided the way it did. It should be approximately 10+ sentences.
CASE SIGNIFICANCE: 5+ sentences which will include the impact on law enforcement or corrections personnel.
NOTE: You will NOT quote the legal case or brief but you will summarize it in YOUR own words. Quotations are not accepted in the briefs as you must learn to summarize this information. Plagiarism software WILL be used in this course.
A summary paragraph comparing and contrasting the two cases is required.
Case 1: Summary with all of the parts: facts, issue, holding, reasoning, case significance.
Summary of the case.
Case 2: Summary with all of the parts: facts, issue, holding, reasoning, case significance.
Summary of the case.
Summary paragraphs COMPARING and CONTRASTING the cases (may take 1-2 paragraphs).

Infrastructure of Berlin Before and After World War II

This research paper is to be about some specific topic regarding 20th century Berlin, as the course is centered on Berlin as a whole during this time period, covering its culture, history, and memory. For my research paper, I chose to write about Berlin infrastructure before and directly following World War II. I want to compare the conditions of the infrastructure in the city prior to the war and after it. I also want to focus on how damaged the infrastructure in the city was after the war and how the city eventually recovered its infrastructure as a whole. This topic is not set in stone, although it would be preferred to use this one if there are enough sources and research available to generate a 20 page research paper, since this is the topic I said I would be writing about. However, I can change my mind, and if you see that there is another specific topic within 20th century Berlin that you would have an easier time forming a research paper about that would be of better quality, then I'm more than open to that as well. Feel free to use as many sources as you like, of any nature (books, journal articles, internet resources, interviews), as long as they are cited in Chicago style. Here are some links I've found after some brief research:

The third link has a huge amount of sources listed that may contain things to work with. I have also compiled a short bibliography of sources that may be of good use:

Once again, don't feel limited to this topic and if you feel like another topic will result in a better paper, I'm all for it. Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Thank you.

Conflicting Viewpoints

I have attached Part I of the assignment for referance

Assignment 1.2: Conflicting Viewpoints Essay – Part II
Synthesizing and Writing
Due Week 4 and worth 100 points

When looking for information about a particular issue, how often do you try to resist biases toward your own point of view? This assignment asks you to engage in this aspect of critical thinking.

The assignment is divided into two (2) parts.
For Part I of the assignment (due Week 2), you read a book excerpt about critical thinking processes, reviewed the Procon.org Website in order to gather information, and engaged in prewriting to examine your thoughts.
* Remember that in the Week 2 Discussion, you examined the biases discussed in Chapter 2 of the webtext.

In Part II of the assignment (due Week 4), you will write a paper to synthesize your ideas.
Part II – Writing
Write at three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:
1. State your position on the topic you selected for Assignment 1.1.
2. Identify (3) three premises (reasons) from the Procon.org website that support your position and explain why you selected these specific reasons.
3. Explain your answers to the “believing” questions about the three (3) premises opposing your position from the Procon.org website.
4. Examine at least two (2) types of biases that you likely experienced as you evaluated the premises for and against your position.
5. Discuss the effects of your own enculturation or group identification that may have influenced your biases.
6. Discuss whether or not your thinking about the topic has changed after playing the “Believing Game,” even if your position on the issue has stayed the same.

The paper should follow guidelines for clear and organized writing:

Include an introductory paragraph and concluding paragraph.
Address main ideas in body paragraphs with a topic sentence and supporting sentences.
Adhere to standard rules of English grammar, punctuation, mechanics, and spelling.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA Style format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

results section of a research paper

here is exactly what I need done for each of the 10 different tests…..
ANOVAs (both one-way and two-way) are reported like the t test, but there are two degrees-of-freedom numbers to report. First report the between-groups degrees of freedom, then report the within-groups degrees of freedom (separated by a comma). After that report the F statistic (rounded off to two decimal places) and the significance level.

There was a significant main effect for treatment, F(1, 145) = 5.43, p = .02, and a significant interaction, F(2, 145) = 3.24, p = .04.

I have provided all the data all I need you to do is put in on paper. there were 10 questions used a 2 way anova was used for the testing I just need all the stats written, It is strictly the results portion you would find in a research paper. 2×2 factorial design. When reporting non-significant results, the p-value is generally reported as the a posteriori probability of the
test-statistic. For example: t(28) = 1.10, SEM = 28.95, p = .268.1….Reporting an omnibus oneway ANOVA, with post-hoc tests:
The analysis of variances showed that the effect of group significantly influenced anxiety, F(2, 57) =
5.00, MSE = 100.25, p = .009. Post hoc analyses were conducted using Tukey’s post-hoc test. Based on a
Tukey’s value of CD = 2.50, the anxiety in the drug group (M = 5.25, SD = 1.80) was significantly less than in
the placebo group (M = 8.35, SD = 2.68) and the control group (M = 8.10, SD = 1.69). The anxiety in the
placebo group and the drug group did not differ significantly. example of 2 way anova results Test completion times, in minutes, were submitted to a two-way ANOVA with two levels of room noise
(noisy, quiet) and two levels of room temperature (hot, cold). The main effect of room noise was significant,
F(1, 39) = 12.65, MSE = 101.55, p = .001, suggesting that the test completion time in the noisy group (M =
3.55, SD = 1.20) was greater than the quiet group (M = 2.78, SD = 0.92). The main effect of room temperature
was significant, F(1, 39) = 5.85, MSE = 101.55, p = .02, suggesting that the test completion time in the cold
group (M = 4.04, SD = 1.25) was greater than the hot group (M = 3.58, SD = 0.99). The interaction was not
significant, F(1, 39) = 1.12, MSE = 101.55, p = .296.
Reporting results of major tests in factorial ANOVA; non-significant interaction:
Attitude change scores were subjected to a two-way analysis of variance having two levels of message
discrepancy (small, large) and two levels of source expertise (high, low). All effects were statistically significant
at the .05 significance level.
The main effect of message discrepancy yielded an F ratio of F(1, 24) = 44.4, p < .001, indicating that the mean change score was significantly greater for large-discrepancy messages (M = 4.78, SD = 1.99) than for smalldiscrepancy messages (M = 2.17, SD = 1.25). The main effect of source expertise yielded an F ratio of F(1, 24) = 25.4, p < .01, indicating that the mean change score was significantly higher in the high-expertise message source (M = 5.49, SD = 2.25) than in the low-expertise message source (M = 0.88, SD = 1.21). The interaction effect was non-significant, F(1, 24) = 1.22, p > .05
there was no significant main affect for any of these questions

Identifying Potential Malicious Attacks, Threats and Vulnerabilities

Assignment 1: Identifying Potential Malicious Attacks, Threats and Vulnerabilities

You have just been hired as an Information Security Engineer for a videogame development company. The organization network structure is identified in the below network diagram and specifically contains:

1) 2 – Firewalls 2) 1 – Web / FTP server
3) 1 – Microsoft Exchange Email server
4) 1 – Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS)
5) 2 – Windows Server 2012 Active Directory Domain Controllers (DC)
6) 3 – File servers
7) 1 – Wireless access point (WAP)
8) 100 – Desktop / Laptop computers
9) VoIP telephone system

The CIO has seen reports of malicious activity being on the rise and has become extremely concerned with the protection of the intellectual property and highly sensitive data maintained by your organization. As one of your first tasks with the organization, the CIO requested you identify and draft a report identifying potential malicious attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities specific to your organization. Further, the CIO would like you to briefly explain each item and the potential impact it could have on the organization.

Write a four to five (4-5) page paper in which you:
1. Analyze three (3) specific potential malicious attacks and / or threats that could be carried out against the network and organization.
2. Explain in detail the potential impact of the three (3) selected malicious attacks.
3. Propose the security controls that you would consider implementing in order to protect against the selected potential malicious attacks.
4. Analyze three (3) potential concerns for data loss and data theft that may exist in the documented network.
5. Explicate the potential impact of the three (3) selected concerns for data loss and data theft.
6. Propose the security controls that you would consider implementing in order to protect against the selected concerns for data loss and data theft.
7. Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment (no more than 2-3 years old) from material outside the textbook. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
– Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format to include in text citations. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
– Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

On Religion

Focus on chapters one and five in John Caputo’s book On Religion –“The Love of God” and “On Religion –Without Religion”.You might also include other chapters to round out your responses. I suggest doing a close read, possibly a re-read, before writing your paper. In a well-writtenresponses, and in mostly your own words (you may use quotes here and there, but do not let them speak for you), answer the following questions:1.Caputo introduces a quote (a question, a wonderment, a guiding light?) from St. Augustine: “What do I love when I love my God?”How does Caputo interpret Augustine’s query, and how do you thinkit relatesto the major theme(s) of the book? (You will need to discuss what you thinkthis/these theme(s)is/are.)2.What does Caputo mean by the distinction True Religion / Religious Truth, and what does he mean by saying that religious truth is a truth without knowledge?3.What is “religion without religion” and how might you incorporate the ideas above to describe what he means by this?4.Caputo describes his project in varying ways as one that is open and inclusive to differences in belief (or non-belief). In ruminatingon what you have read, reflect on whether or not he achieves this, or simply if he is convincing. Given that this is a comparative religions course with a nod to contrasts, do you think that Caputo has good ideas for how we live in, live through, and live with religion?I’d imaging that this should take you at least three pages worth of reflecting andarguing. Remember to explain things well. To remind you, a thorough response is like good driving directions: while vague directionsmay be true–“Go south!”–(let’s not forget Caputo’s critique of this oft-used and abused concept) theycan be useless. Rather, good directions must have a decent level of detail –road names, distances, landmarks, and so on –to be useful. So, in your answers please be descriptive, thorough, use examples and maybe quotes, and perhaps some analogies. Show me that you understand!Inform others who may not know.As always, have fun with this! Thinkingcarefullyabout big ideas ought to be joyfulas opposed to something from which we flee

Her body, My baby (a reading)

This article focuses on the gestational surrogacy experience and the conflicting emotions and ethical questions it raises. The following article "Her Body, My Baby" was first published in The New York Times. While you may have your own ideas about this topic, please note that your answers in your assignment MUST be based on information from the reading unless the question asks specifically for your opinion. You may quote the article in your answers, but please be sure not to quote more than one phrase or sentence per question AND be sure to explain fully how the excerpt you chose supports your answer to the specific question posed. If the question does not lend itself to a quote from the article, please do not use one. This assignment is for you to show me the depth of your critical reading skills.
We began the semester reading about abortion and we have come full circle as this article focuses on the gestational surrogacy experience and the conflicting emotions and ethical questions it raises. The following article "Her Body, My Baby" was first published in The New York Times. While you may have your own ideas about this topic, please note that your answers on the final exam MUST be based on information from the reading unless the question asks specifically for your opinion.

Question 1
Kuczynski observes, "We encountered the wink-nod rule: Surrogates would never say they were motivated to carry a child for another couple just for money; they were all motivated by altruism. This gentle hypocrisy allows surrogacy to take place."

Part 1: Explain her statement.
Part 2: Explain the "wink-nod rule" to which she refers.

Question 2
Part 1: Why does Kuczynski feel that the Catholic Church's position on "science birth" is misguided?

Part 2: Do you feel that the Catholic Church's position is logical (even though you many not agree with it)? Explain. [Hint: Think back to validity of arguments in Module 4.]

Question 3
Part 1: How does Kuczynski feel about the surrogates who "apply" for the "job"?

Part 2: Explain why you feel that her thoughts are or are not logical and justified.

Question 4
Part 1: Explain how Kuczynski's husband helps her come to terms with the completion of the gestational surrogacy experience.

Part 2: When thinking of the concept of Human Needs (Module 7), do you feel that Kuczynski and her husband had the same need to have a child? Explain

Question 5
Kuczynski notes that most surrogates do not have much money.

Part 1: Does it bother her that surrogates are probably doing it for the money? Why or why not?

Part 2: Do you feel that Kuczynski's motivation to have a child blinds her from the financial aspect of the transaction? Explain.

Question 6
Part 1: As the pregnancy progresses, what feelings does Kuczynski experience?

Part 2: How does she analyze these feelings? Explain.

Part 3: Does she contradict herself or does she remain consistent to her feelings? Explain.

Question 7
Part 1: Did Kuczynski's personal narrative make you feel sympathetic to her problem and how she solved it? Why or why not?

Part 2: What is one question that you would ask Kuczynski now that you know her story? Explain the thinking behind your question.

Question 8
Part 1: What reactions do other people have when Kuczynski explains that she is expecting a baby by gestations surrogate?

Part 2: Although you may not agree with other people's reactions, were these people logical in their arguments? Explain

Question 9
Part 1: Who does Kuczynski choose and are the reasons she gives for the decision logical or do they contradict any of her earlier statements? Explain.

Part 2: Do you think you would have made the same decision? Explain

Question 10
Part 1: What assumptions does Kuczynski made about her readers' knowledge of pregnancy in this article?

Part 2: What qualms does Kuczynski have about gestational surrogacy?

Part 3: Does she struggle with ethical reasons? Why or why not?

Paper Three

Your paper should include:
About 500 words
A short introductory paragraph, with a clear thesis statement (e.g., I shall argue that Plato's argument is unsound…).
A brief statement of the ethical issue you intend to solve.
A charitable reconstruction of the argument as presented by the author (you may, but need not, use standard form). In such a short essay, it is best to confine your analysis to a small argument, from within the larger article that you read.
An brief explanation, in your own words, of the argument itself.
An evaluation of the argument in terms of logical validity and truth/soundness. That means that, for any premise, if you think it's false, you should explicitly show why, as well as consider counter-examples to your criticisms. Since this is an argumentative essay, this evaluation is the most important part of the essay, and will constitute your principle objection. Take some time to develop it carefully.
A brief answer to your principle objection, on behalf of the author.
Your reply to the answer on behalf of the author.
A suitable concluding paragraph.
At least one outside source, and at least as many non-internet sources as internet sources (Read that sentence again to be sure you understand it).
No direct quotations. It is not necessary to directly quote any author. When it is important to do so, simply explain the position which he/she is defending. It is, however, necessary to cite all authors whose ideas you reference. Thus, if you begin a sentence with, e.g., "According to Plato…", you should end that sentence with a citation. Essays that include "direct quotations" will not receive a grade higher than a D.
A clear and complete bibliography

There are three options for Paper Three:

From module eight – Compare and contrast objective ways of knowing and subjective ways of knowing. Is there really any such thing as objectivity? Or is all knowledge just subjective interpretation? Is any knowledge objective?

From module nine – William James in "The Will to Believe" (in the textbook but not on the reading list) says that one must believe "ahead of the evidence." If you don't trust a new friend until you have definite irrefutable proof of his/her trust you may lose them as a friend. If you wait to marry that special person until you have definite irrefutable proof that he/she is the "right person" you may wait forever.

If you agree with James, give me at least two examples of where you would be compelled to "believing ahead of the evidence" and explain how they fit into the three criteria: 1) the choice is momentous (much hangs on the choice), 2) the choice must be made quickly (time is of the essence and you cannot wait for more or better evidence), 3) the choice is live (you could see yourself making the choice or not making the choice) that we can and must choose beyond or without (not despite) the evidence.

If you disagree with James give me at least two example of choices that fit James' three criteria and then tell me why the decision should be postponed until further evidence is gathered and what that evidence might be.

From module ten – King, in the Letter from Birmingham Jail, makes a distinction between just and unjust laws. Do you agree with King? Justify your answer. If you agree, give an example of an unjust law that is on the books today. Be sure to justify your analysis of this law as unjust.

Interview

Introduction (3 points)
Rubric Final
Your introduction must include a thorough description of who you are interviewing, including all of the following elements: (1) what specific to what role they serve at the school, (2) what they do to support students with disabilities, (3) how long they have worked at the school, (4) a description of their work setting, and (5) a description of the students they typically support. Finally, your introduction must be well written with minimal editing errors (1 -2).

Transcription of Interview (17 points)
In your interview, you must ask the following seven questions. In addition, you must ask five additional questions of your choice based off information we have read this semester. For instance, you may ask: “Tell me how you identify students for special education at your school.” Be very careful not to ask Yes / No questions. Asking, “Do you use Response to Intervention at your school?” would produce a Yes / No answer. You will not receive credit for this type of question. Do not ask questions related to the individual. For example, asking “Why did you choose to be a special educator?” would not be an acceptable question as it does not specifically relate to the duties of the profession.

Each response is worth 1 point. To receive full credit, you must write out in your report the question and the full response from the individual you interview. It is strongly recommended you tape record your interview to ensure you capture the full response accurately. For the final five questions, you will receive 1 point for an appropriate question (it should be linked to something we read or watched this semester) and 1 point for the teacher’s response.

Questions you must ask include:
1.) Please tell me what you do at your school site to support students with disabilities (1 points).
2.) In what ways do you collaborate with other teachers / professionals at your school to support students with disabilities (1 points)? 3.) What do you think all general education teachers should know about the work special education teachers do (1 points)?
SPED 4270 13
4.) What do you wish general education teachers knew about the students you work with (1 points)?
5.) What qualities of a general education teacher make them good fits for students with special education needs (1 point)?
6.) What is the biggest complaint you hear from general education teachers about working with students with disabilities and how do you respond (1 point)?
7.) What can general education teachers do to help students with disabilities be successful in their classrooms (1 point)? Your Questions
8.) Your question (1 point); Teachers response (1 point)
9.) Your question (1 point); Teachers response (1 point)
10.) Your question (1 point); Teachers response (1 point)
11.) Your question (1 point); Teachers response (1 point)
12.) Your question (1 point); Teachers response (1 point)

Summary (10 points)
Once you have completed your interview, please write a brief summary of your interview. I also want you to reflect on the following. What did you learn through this experience? How will this influence your future practice? How did this change (or not change) your perspective of special educators and special education students? As with all parts of this assignment, write well and take time to edit your work. Your summary must be at least 400 words.

Analyzing Plays

Use 12 font in Times New Roman with one-inch margins.
Topic: Analyze two plays we have read by choosing ONE of the following topics for a literary analysis essay. Provide equal treatment for each play in the essay. Refer to the text as a play (place in italics) and the writer as a playwright. Use specific examples and details to support your position along with direct quotations from each play.

1. Edward Bok Lee says, “Art can show you the interior of another person’s life and soul, if only just for a few minutes” (1272). Apply this quote to two of the following: El Santo Americano, Susan Glaspell’s Trifles, and David Henry Hwang's The Sound of a Voice. The genre of drama is the "art" in this case.

2. According to Oscar Wilde, “In this world there are only two tragedies: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.” Write an essay in which you analyze how this assertion relates to the scene from Christopher Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus and Jane Martin’s Beauty. Please also include material from the end of the play linked to the module.

3. How do David Henry Hwang's The Sound of a Voice and Edward Bok Lee's El Santo Americano demonstrate the theme of illusion and reality? The characters of each play misunderstand each other on multiple levels with grave outcomes. What is the illusion and what is reality? Both playwrights are interested in the convergence of language, history, and memory.

4. In David Ives's Sure Thing and Jane Martin's Beauty, what is comic? What is serious? How are these plays proof of his statement that "comedy is just tragedy without the sentimentality"? (891)

Introduction:

The title, author, and date of publication
Some historical or geographical background if relevant
A brief summary of the works to provide the reader with context
A thesis that will guide you as writer regarding what your essay will discuss

Writing Tips:

Thesis Revision: State your claim about the two plays and add the points that you plan to use and discuss in your essay, such as the theme. What are the aspects of the plays that you discussed in your essay? How does your analysis of these aspects support the claim you made about the two plays? Review your outline to determine the points you will add to complete your thesis statement.

Effective organization: You may compare and contrast the plays in each body paragraph OR analyze one play and then transition into the other play and make similar points for a cohesive flow.

Transition smoothly between ideas: Transitional words or phrases can express various relationships between ideas. Some common examples are “In addition”, “Moreover”, and “Furthermore” to indicate that you are adding to the previous idea, and “On the other hand” and “However” to show that the two ideas are contrasting.

Remember to use a block quote if you cite two or more characters: Set the quote apart from the text with two tabs and keep it double-spaced. Place the names of characters in all capital letters followed by a period. Sentences after the first line should be three spaces in as follows:

FAUSTUS. Think’st thou that Faustus is so fond to imagine,

That after this life there is any pain?

No, these are trifles, and mere old wives’ tales.

MEPHISTOPHILIS. But I am an instance to prove the contrary,

For I tell thee I am damned, and now in Hell! (2.1.131-135)
