When purchasing your latest cell phone, how much research did you do before you decided to purchase a particular phone? You probably reviewed major features or you may have even gone to great depth. Features are possible with operating systems software to run the applications that provide these wonderful features. This week you will concentrate on mobile operating systems for mobile phones.

Your assignment is to write a 3 – 4 page paper comparing and contrasting the mobile operating systems and features from the three major mobile phone vendors on the market today: Apple iOS, Google Android, and Windows Phone. You should include in your paper the following:

Compare and contrast the user interface

Compare and contrast the major features of each operating system

Compare and contrast the major included applications

After your research, which mobile phone vendor would you choose? Why? Is this the vendor you are currently using for your personal mobile phone?

Audited Canceled Ticket Sales

·         Ticket Sales are “booked” over the internet and an entry is made debiting a receivable account (from the credit card) and crediting sales.

·         When a ticket is canceled, the only entry made is to a database that maintains specific seat availability.

·         Customers are emailed a “Cancellation Form” when this occurs.

·         No accounting journal entry is recorded, and no refund occurs until the customer requests (in writing) a refund.

·         If the customer never requests the refund, the receivable is billed to the credit card and collected.

·         After it is billed to the credit card, many customers complain and are given a refund, and then an accompanying journal entry is made for the cancellation.

·         After analyzing the “Canceled Form”, you note that it says nothing about requiring a written cancellation for a refund.

·         The internal controller responded to your inquiry about the policy of requiring a written request for a refund by indicating that the policy is presented on the website’s “business policies and procedures” section.

·         The controller says that in total about two-thirds of the customers ask for and receive refunds, while one-third do not.

·         The CPA’s attorneys say that while it is probably a questionable policy, they are unable to say it is illegal—in fact, it probably is not.

This week’s assignment will continue familiarize you with Microsoft Project 2013. Take the time and work through each of the steps below so that you have a thorough understanding of the program and it’s capabilities.

• Perform the following steps in Appendix A: A-23 – A-28 and A-43 – A-46.

After reading chapter three, discuss the main differences between the two versions of the JWD Consulting case study. When should you use a more prescriptive or agile approach? Do you think users of the JWD Consulting Intranet site would prefer one release of the software or several incremental ones? What are some pros and cons of each approach?

Study the WBS and Gantt charts provided in Figures 3-3 and 3-4. Enter the WBS into Project,indenting tasks as shown to create the WBS hierarchy. Do not enter duration’s or dependencies. Submit a screenshot of the resulting Gantt chart.
