Your task: write a 3-page response to a live performance event (a concert, theatrical production, sporting event, drag show, etc.) featuring a cis-female, transgender-female, and/or gender nonconforming/nonbinary performer. What you attend is up to you, as is when you attend, though you must complete the assignment prior to November 14. We encourage you to seek out events both on- and off-campus. Some suggestions will be posted to Moodle.
Expectations: Your paper should include a detailed description of the event, the manner and quality of the performance, and other relevant aspects of the event itself, including your impression of the audiences response. Please give us a sense of the larger context, in addition to what you witness onstage. Tell us what you can about the space, location, audience and performer demographics, ticket prices (if applicable), etc. In other words, give us a well-rounded account of your experience. Youll want to take notes either during the performance (if it seems appropriate to do so) and/or immediately afterward.

Did the performers draw attention to or politicize gender/sexuality somehow? What aspects of the performance stood out to you?

How successful was the performance?
