Sample teaching topics to choose from include: a specific chronic or infectious disease such as diabetes, CHF, pneumonia, influenza; procedures a patient may need to do at home such as injections (prefilled or drawing up), measuring BP/P, home infusions, peritoneal dialysis, intermittent self-urinary catheterization, or diet/lifestyle modifications such heart healthy, sodium or fluid restriction, diabetic, or tube feeding. Identify the evaluation criteria you will use to measure the effectiveness of your teaching plan. Include references to support your rationale.
Communicate in a manner that is professional and appropriate for nurses. Original work is required for your teaching plan and writing. Your communication needs to be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
