**Students must okay their country with me. I will write down which country each student selects. The same country cannot be used by more than one student in class. Students will not actually be presenting this in front of the class. Its a project you are turning in for me to grade.**The project should describe 7 different ways your country is struggling and methods to improve their situation. Think about all the challenges your country must overcome and how you would go about developing. (When thinking about the ways your country is struggling, think about the different topics we cover in each chapter. For instance, economic challenges, education, resources, physical geography such as deserts or earthquakes, environmental issues, land-use, infrastructure challenges, governments/politics such as corruption, strained relationships with other countries, is there any conflict in that country, etc.)Powerpoint presentation must include:-title page (first slide)-table of contents (outline)-map of the country- 7 problems/challenges and ways to improve them. (For each problem describe why it is a problem and then for the solutions think about what the country or non-profits are trying to do to help this problem. For the solutions, you can include some of your own ideas, but they shouldn’t all be your ideas. Don’t combine a problem and its solutions on the same slide, as that is not enough detail. On one slide, describe why its a problem. Then on the next slide, describe what is being done to improve it.)-landscape images throughout the project (photos that connect back to your countries “problems”)-in-text citations on each slide (Everything must be cited on each slide (whether that is the information, maps, diagrams, or photos. Each slide should have a shortened citation, with the full citation at the end on the References/Works Cited page.)-References/Works Cited page (last slide). (Students need to use at least 6 sources. And Wikipedia cannot be used for this research project.)-No less than 11 slides. No more than 20.- All sentences must be paraphrased (no coping/pasting and no quoting). (Yes, you cancopy/paste photos. Just be sure to cite, whether you paraphrase or use a photo.)-This is Powerpoint presentation, so you do not need to write in essay/paragraph format. The slides should be a combination of sentences and phrases. (Similar to how I use Powerpoint in class.)-The project should be submitted into the D2L Brightspace assignment folder by midnight on No late projects will be accepted. (Students can turn it in as early as they want. You do not need to wait for the last day to submit it.) To submit on D2L Brightspace, go to “Assessments” and then “Assignments”. Please scroll down below the rubric for details on how to submit the project.-See below for the rubric I will use when grading the project.Low scoreOkay, but needs workPretty goodHigh scoreYour PointsTotal PossibleOrganization of the presentationSequence of information is difficult to followReader has some difficulty following work because the student jumps around a bitInformation is in a logical sequenceInformation is in a logical sequence, its interesting, and well organized10Presentation is attractiveText is too small; cannot read from a distance of 3 feet; little use of pictures or other graphics; used paragraphsText is difficult to read on some slides; could use more pictures and graphicsText is readable; good use of pictures and graphicsText is well presented; used bullet points instead of paragraphs and sentences; excellent use of graphics10Followed DirectionsStudent does not really follow direction & has veered away from the presentations purpose for most of it.Student has somewhat stayed on task and/or veered away from the presentations purpose for a short while.Student has followed directions and stayed on track adequately. All requirements were full-filled10Transitions/ FlowTransitions are not used and there is not a good flow from one idea to the next.Transitions arent used very often, which makes the presentation seem a little choppy.Project does a pretty good job of shifting from one idea to the next. The presentation flows very well.
