Readings: Silent Spring by Rachael Carson, Waterlily by Ella Deloria, and Bread from Stones by Julius Hensel 2. Contact Hours: Student will complete a minimum of 45 contact hours in the garden per credit total of at least 135 contact hours. Student may complete more hours per her applied experience contract, but only required the 135 hours for the 3 credits. 3. Student will write an integration paper no less than 5 pages on how the reading impacted her experience and reflecting on how the experience has impacted their life. Assessment of Learning Outcomes: Acquire skills for effective citizenship and life-long learning. 1. Student will earn 1-point per contact hour for a total of up to 135 points: One must be a part of the community to learn about what it means to be a good citizen. 2. Integration Paper: Upon completion of the required contact hours, student will write an integration paper (up to ten pages) describing two to three concepts, theories, or procedures from the readings and how they impacted her work experience.
