Methods and Tools for Software Change Management
Change management is an important aspect of Software Engineering. This assignment provides the opportunity for you to explore the Methods and Tools for Software Change Management currently used in the software industry. It should be carried out in groups of two smaller groups (i.e., two OMMS project group). The outcome of your research should be delivered as a 20 minutes presentation, which should provide a “lesson” on this subject matter to IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering undergraduate and Master students. The presentation should
introduce the importance and challenges of software change management, with a focus on human factors and requirement change management;
provide an overview of change management best practices in general and requirement change management in particular (reference at least the CMM and SWBOK);
outline a simple requirement change management process (key activities, inputs, outputs, tools, and measurements) for dealing with change requests. Demonstrate its application to your group project;

You are advised to reference the relevant sections in the CMM or CMMI process framework, SWBOK guide, as well as other bibliographical references (other than the textbook and lecture slides). The references can provide support material or further information.
You are to give a 20 minutes presentation to your topic coordinator and two other groups. There will be a Q&A time afterwards. The presentations will be scheduled in weeks 10 and 11, i.e., you should be ready by the end of week 9. A roster will be made available in week 9. An early start with information gathering and drafting is strongly encouraged.
