This week is about writing and turning in your Proposal Paper. I will comment on your first paragraph by Wednesday evening. You can find my comments in Talon by following these directions: Use the Progress tool to find feedback on this and most other assignments. Since this assignment was delivered as an exam, first click on the Progress link at the top of the course and then click on Quizzes in the left menu. Scroll down to find this quiz and click on Details to expand, and then click on Attempt 1 to open your submission. Finally click on View Feedback to expand. Here are the specific things that I expect will be incorporated into your paper: Assign an overall grade for this paper based on a 110 point scale where 110 is the highest grade. Use these guidelines when assigning your grade: Is your name, date, type of paper (Proposal Essay) and title at the top of the first page? Does your paper title match the content of your paper? Is the thesis clearly stated somewhere in the first three paragraphs of the paper? Is the problem defined first and then followed by concrete solutions? Does the paper have clear section headings? Are your first and last paragraphs connected in an obvious way? Do you follow proper quoting punctuation? Look at examples of how material is quoted in the story that you read for this unit for examples of proper quoting punctuation. Is all outside sourced material followed by an in-text citation? Do the in-text citations follow MLA formatting guidelines? Can I easily connect each in-text citation to the Works Cited page? Is there a minimum of three in-text citations in the paper? Does the Works Cited page follow MLA guidelines? Is the Works Cited page on a separate page? Your Works Cited page must have 3 outside sources listed. Please do not use more than 5 outside sources for this paper. Is the paper organized well? Is there a nice mix of personal analysis and quotes in each paragraph? Does the paper fit into 10-12 fully formed paragraphs? Does each paragraph have between four and eight sentences in it? Any paper that does not meet this minimum cannot get higher than a “D” grade. Is the paper edited for punctuation, grammar, and spelling errors? Any paper with more than 10 errors cannot receive above a “D+” grade. Does the last paragraph of the paper wrap the story up well?
