Leadership Communications Associated with Challenger Case Study

For this paper you will expand on that analysis and evaluate the role of leadership communication in relation to the disaster. The paper should be 3to 4 pages in length. In the paper make sure to address the following: Describe the role played by the leaders at both Martin-Thiokol and NASA. Given the material covered to date in the course, describe the strategy that was used in the communications. Did the leaders understand the audience? Was feedback evident in the discussions? What would you have done differently? Use the following format/structure and guidelines for all short paper assignments: Title Page: Include your name, the paper title, course title, instructor’s name, and date. Introduction: Explain the purpose of the paper in succinct, declarative sentences. The introduction should offer a preview of the paper and its value, and be based upon the concepts studied in the course. Content: Provide a well-developed, balanced argument, which uses course concepts, examples or applications, and legitimate research from appropriate sources. Ensure that you clearly respond to all questions above. Conclusion: Develop a summative paragraph, which includes what you learned from the learning activity. References: Include a variety of relevant resources to support your work. Background Information: https://history.nasa.gov/rogersrep/v1ch5.htm

What organizational skills do students need to be successful in yoursubject or class?.What could you do to teach these skills, while still covering the materialthat will be on the proficiency or achievement tests the students will haveto take in the spring?.How would you help students develop an authentic sense of efficacy forguiding their own learning?

You know that your students need to be organized and self- regulating to dowell in both their current and their future classes. But many of thestudents just don’t seem to know how to take charge of their own learning. They have trouble completing larger projects-many wait until the lastminute. They can’t organize their work or decide what is most important. Some can’t even keep up with assignments. Their book bags are disasterareas–filled with long overdue assignment sheets and class handouts fromlast semester crumbled in with school newsletters and permission slips forfield trips. You are concerned because they will need to be much moreorganized and on top of their work as they progress through their education. You have so much material to cover to meet district guidelines, but many ofyour students are drowning in the amount of work they already have..

OR CHOICE 2 In 2013 Rev Ltd set up as a small car manufacturing company. Over the last few years, car sales have increased steadily though they still only have about 1% of the car sales market in the UK. Their main selling point is that they are eco-friendly and cost-efficient. Rev Ltd has just invented a new emissions control system. Recent test results show that this new system will cut the emission of carbon monoxide gas to zero. This will allow them to break into the European car market. Rev Ltd has applied for a patent on their new system. Rev Ltd has recently learned that Renton, the largest car manufacturer in Europe, is about to launch their own new emissions control system, which appears to have exactly the same technology as that of Rev Ltd. Rev Ltd fear that this is a copy of their system and is a breach of their patent. Mr Smith, the managing director of Rev Ltd is also worried about another matter. He has been contacted recently by Mr Jones, the editor of Bottom Gear which is the UKs top-selling car magazine. Mr Jones said that he has been given confidential Rev Ltd documents which prove that the results of Rev Ltd tests on its new emissions control system were fixed and not honestly obtained. Mr Smith has denied these accusations but is concerned as Mr Jones has said that he will publish the story in the next issue of Bottom Gear, which is due to go to press in one week. Advise Mr Smithon any equitable remedies that may be available to Rev Ltd.

Uncovering Leadership Styles Organizations, business professionals, and even the public often take a keen interest in discussions about leadership style.

The reasons for the popularity of discussing leadership style approaches may lie in the way leadership researchers define leadership as a collection of observable behaviors. People can both observe and learn behavior, unlike innate traits. When people study the behavior of a successful leader, such as a CEO, from a leadership styles perspective, they may seek to uncover what aspects of that persons leadership style led to his or her success. People then attempt to emulate that leadership style in the hope of achieving a comparable level of success. Leaders with unconventional leadership styles, such as the late Apple founder Steve Jobs, attract considerable attention. Jobss leadership helped make Apple one of the more prosperous companies in the world. He remains an inspiration in spite of his reputation for being rough on employees (Isaacson, 2011). He achieved success despite the fact that his leadership style was different from those widely recommended in published leadership style approaches. People like Jobs challenge previous assumptions and conceptions of good leadership. While many others debate these issues, researchers continue to look for empirical and systematic ways to uncover an elusive link between leadership style and leadership success.
