How, and to what extent, do children shape their own development? Discuss with reference to both theory and research

The essay should cover the ‘how’ aspect of the question by including ALL of the areas mentioned in the textbook: Self-initiated activity, Active interpretation of experience, Self-regulation and Eliciting reactions from others (textbook: Siegler, R. S., DeLoache, J., Eisenberg, N., & Saffran, J. (2017). How children develop (5th ed.). New York: Worth. Relevant sections of chapters 3 and 16). Examples for each area should be drawn from MULTIPLE areas of developmental psychology, such as attention, language, play, conceptual understanding and temperament. It is a broad question so it needs to be broad in its response- one way to ensure greater coverage would be to cite fewer studies in relation to each area as examples. Remember to include a discussion of the constraints on children’s role in shaping their own development to address the ‘to what extent’ aspect of the question. It is a developmental psychology essay hence the references used should cover multiple age ranges from infancy to adolescence! The number of reference is just a guidance but you might need more or less! This is not a Nature vs Nurture essay however, you might want to add a few nature (genetic features, pre-natal development) and nurture (parental education, school environment) is the ‘To what extent’ part of the question. Please note that any study/ area of research used should be critiqued (to show critical thinking skills) for example: reproductions of the study haven’t given consistent results, these techniques/results are unexplored in general/ the study is relatively old and some concepts are treated in quite an old fashion way of thinking about child development etc… You can organise the structure of the essay how you like. The word limit is between 2200 and 2500 I will upload the essay tutorial presentation which is useful guidance for writing up the essay. if you think you need extra time please message me Thank you!

Approaches to Early Childhood Education

1. Begin your paper with a general discussion of what constructivism emphasizes. 2. Then address each of the four approaches in terms of how it interprets three particular elements: role of the teacher, role of the child, and role of the environment. For example, with the role of the teacher: The Montessori approach emphasizes that the teacher is a Directress and so generally does not engage with children as they work individually with activities throughout the day. The focused times for the Directress to engage with the children are.. In contrast, in the Waldorf approach, the teacher engages more frequently with the children. For example and so on. Be sure to include specific examples to back up your statements about each approach (e.g., notes, books, websites used for class). Do not forget to cite the sources accordingly. 3. Finally, reflect on your own perspective with regard to the approaches. For example, does one approach fit more comfortably with your developing teaching style, as opposed to another approach? Which one(s) and why? If not, please explain. 4. Choose 3-4 aspects of at least two approaches that you would like to incorporate into your own teaching. Paper should be approximately 4-5 pages, double spaced, 12-inch font, Times New Roman.

Introduction to Ethical and Legal Perspectives in Healthcare

As a healthcare professional, you are among a group of frontline workers. Frontline workers are the backbone of effective health systems. In fact, according to Frontline Health Workers Coalition (2018), frontline workers play a critical role in providing local context for proven health solutions, and they connect with families and communities to the health system. Successful policy advocacy and creation is often encouraged by frontline healthcare workers since they are the individuals who interact with the consumers (patients) the most. Your knowledge and perspective are vital to policy and lawmakers as a voice for healthcare consumers and for providing validation/opposition to laws and policy. Recently the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services announced the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division of the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). The offices stated goal is to protect institutions and people who refuse to provide medical assistance based on religious objections. As noted by HHS (2018), the office is intended to protect religious beliefs. As with most policies, there are opponents and proponents. In general, supporters advocate that the office will protect against religious discrimination while opponents believe the bill will allow for open discrimination against women and LGBTQ individuals. Information about the Conscience and Religious Freedom Division can be found at the following source: https://www.hhs.gov/conscience/index.html Conduct additional research on Conscience and Religious Freedom. For your Module 1 SLP assignment, you are to use reasoning (from a healthcare professional perspective) and ethical principles (i.e., Religious Ethics, Normative Ethics, Descriptive Ethics, Applied Ethics, etc.) to compose a 2-page letter to your local Congressman/Congresswoman either in support of or opposition to Conscience and Religious Freedom. This should not be opinion (e.g., avoid I think in your paper), but a supported analysis. Your letter should address the following: 1.Effectiveness or ineffectiveness of Conscience and Religious Freedom to the population that you as a healthcare professional serve. 2.Rationale for your support/opposition. 3.Ethical principles that support your position and supporting rationale (why). 4.Suggestions or recommendations. Note: You are not graded on your support or opposition, but rather your critical thinking skills in supporting your position, and application of ethical principles. You may also think about referencing pivotal Supreme Court decisions as well (review background cases and supporting information in the Module 1 Background). Frontline Health Workers Coalition.
