Using phone Apps to learn English vocab

Students start by taking a pre-test of vocabulary level at the beginning of the experiment. The test is based on the Most Common 3000 Word List and the Academic World List by coxhead (2000). Then students upload the required apps ( wordpower, Vocabulary Builder by Magoosh and Quizlet) and use them individually for everyday practice and learning as well as for in-class group exercises. Students are expected to learn 5 days a day and provide the instructor with signs of their progress.
The control group will be given the same words and tests but in paper form and in-class group excercises. The instructor works as an observer and assistant when needed.
The experiment will last for 8 weeks. At the end of the experiment, both groups will take an immediate post-test and the results will be compared. The instructor will use SPSS tests to see the differences and similarities in students performance in both tests in the experimental group and compare the results with those by the control group. (Which tests should I use to achieve this objective?)
Students at the experimental group will be given a survey at the end of the experiment to discover their attitudes towards using the phone applications to learn English vocabulary. The researcher will also interview at least 8 EFL instructors at the English department to obtain information about their attitudes towards integrating and implementing mobile applications in EFL teaching. I need to add recent studies to the literature review about MALL and language learning and teaching in general and vocabulary learning in particular.

Using notes from our lectures discussion of wartime climate and the pressures it puts on national identity, please critically discuss the ways in which media in WWI and WWII was used to frame certain versions of American-ness to both our own citizens and people internationally.

Citing the two wartime media essays this week, does wartime media change in its goals (as opposed to when it is NOT wartime), and how does this occur and by whom? Is this change important, or why not?
3.) What is popular culture in America? How does popular culture reflect larger cultural values and interests (agendas) in our nation? From our readings and lecture, we learn poplar culture has always been an important gauge of national interests and national sense of progress. Please choose two historical moments of your choice and argue the significance of a popular cultural person, song, art piece or other item of your choice and discuss the cultural, political and historic impact of the item to national sense of history and identity. How does it complicate our understanding of national identity? This could be a piece or art or song or writing from the Civil War, the Civil Rights, the Cold War or any other ear in US history of interest to you. Please reference our lecture, readings that are relevant and bring in any outside material you would like to make this argument.

practice the art of developing a thoughtful, well-supported argument by making sure you have the ability to change your mind.

You will choose a subject on which you have a strong opinion and then research the opposing argument. Whether or not you ultimately end up agreeing with this argument, this project will enrich your understanding of the complexity of the topic and help you understand points of view that are not your own.You will be expected to incorporate four sources, at least one of which must be scholarly. Your other sources should vary in genre and rhetorical appeal, since we are trying to trace what kinds of persuasion (logical reasoning? scientific studies and statistics? personal experience? anecdotes from trusted family and friends?) are most influential. Examples of potential sources: a documentary film (e.g., if you feel strongly that parks like SeaWorld do more good than harm, you might watch Blackfish). Your introduction will discuss your initial position on the topic you chose and how you came to that position. You should also present the research strategies you used to find credible and persuasive sources. Your body paragraphs will present the sources you found one at a time, summarize their arguments, and discuss whether you found them persuasive and why or why not. These paragraphs should incorporate paraphrase, summary, and quotations from your sources (at least one quotation per paragraph), in proper MLA format. Your conclusion will reflect on whether you changed your mind as a result of your research, why or why not, and any moments in your research that were particularly eye-opening or surprising. You will also analyze which types of persuasion you found particularly effective.
