How do we know race as a social fact? Reflect upon how the case study challenges and/or reconfirms race/racialised thinking/practices.

While it is a dynamic phenomena rooted in political struggle, it is commonly observed as a fixed characteristic of human populations; while it does not exist in terms of human biology, people routinely look to the human body for evidence about racial identity; while it is a biological fiction, it is nonetheless a social fact.1 (James, 2008) Discuss James above reflection and demonstrate your understanding though an analysis of one empirical case study (in-depth example). To do so will require you to engage with and apply at least one key concept/weekly topic we have considered in CST371. How do we know race as a social fact? Reflect upon how the case study challenges and/or reconfirms race/racialised thinking/practices. Please read this carefully it is immensely important: 1. The key concept/weekly topic I have chosen is overall ‘race and radicalised bodies’ BUT you have to base it upon our weekly reading we did that week which was called ‘White Lines: The Intercultural Politics of Everyday Movement in Social Spaces’ and I have attached the pages that you only need to read and take in to consideration and write about. 2. The case study (which is not the above reading it has to be something else) can be drawn out from the above reading and has to be relatable. For instance the reading might tell an event and you can use that as the case study and go in to further detail and do further research. Has to be an event, or political movement, or policy etc and has to be from the 21st century. 3. DONT FORGET TO RELATE BACK TO THE QUESTION which is how do WE know race as a social fact and to reflect upon how the case study challenges and or reconfirms radicalised thinking or practices. 4. Need to give your writer enough information about the case study, and you KNOWING your case study (context, when did it happen meaning the political or social context around it, which country it happened in, what in particular is the event, these make a big difference) But don’t babble on about it the whole time, its only 2000 words. 5. The above quote is framing the question, but your response is NOT about James. You have to respond to her. IT IS NOT ABOUT THE QUOTE AT ALL but the question more so below it, it’s just a starting point to get you thinking. What James is technically asking is race isn’t biological, it’s a social fact. Think of the question as a provocation 6. You can mention Foucault and Goldberg, but it cannot be the core focus 7. Think while writing this essay as a curate conversation – imagine your reader and youre leading the conversation.Be engaged, critical, intelligent 8. The introduction frames your argument for the reader and yourself. This essay is asking you to make a critical argument. You have to establish a position, your take on the question, how do we know race is a social fact, is the case study confirming or reconfirming. Introduction frames the approach to this question. Its saying ‘this is my argument, and this is how I’m going to demonstrate it’ and approach it with what case study. Functions as an outline of your essay content and then you unfold it 9.

Consulting Case Study on why Coca Cola should have a line of CBD products

Consulting Strategy Case Develop a consulting strategy on why Coca Cola should form a joint venture with a marijuana producing company such as Aurora Cannabis to produce and sell CBD infused drinks as their current sales of sodas have been falling out of favor because of a more health conscious society. Be sure to address laws that could be an issue i.e. Marijuana is legal in Canada and some US states but illegal federally in the US. The FDA did just reclassify CBD also Germany is a leading medical cannabis country. Details on how to structure the report The report should reflect based on its research and understanding and critical thinking about its client firms or independent divisions current strategy to develop value and create competitive barriers to competitors trying to emulate its value creation strategy. This critical examination of the firms strategy should therefore assess how the selected firm is actually using strategy in a certain industry to improve its competitive position, to even change the competitive dynamics of its industry or to actually enter new industries and markets. It should then make recommendations on how the firm can further its strategic objectives. Discuss strategy recommendations and its clients current and likely future competitive success or failure if the recommendations are not followed. first explain the selected firms economic environment including its industrys key competitive drivers, important trends and metrics. Next the report should assess the organizations competitive situation and the strategies of its major competitors. Only then should report discuss the firm and the strategy it has developed to achieve its goals including its core competencies and the resources it will allocate to achieve an advantage. Finally, each consulting team should outline its clients organizational structure and critically analyze how that organization is pursuing its explicit or de facto strategy to help it to implement its business strategy and thus achieve its goals within its competitive industry context. This third piece should include an analysis of how the selected organization is using or not using technology strategically to effectively improve its competitive position by applying the industry metrics identified in the first part. Each team should also make recommendations on how the organization might improve or modify its strategy and the possible benefits to it and various stakeholders. The report should be analytical rather than merely descriptive in content and approach.

What do you know about the general subject? What resources did you consult in determining your topic? How did you search? Include keywords, etc.

The research paper will be no more than 500-750 words (excluding all headers, headings, and Works Cited) focusing on Learning Styles and/or Learning Theory. You will be required to write the paper in MLA documentation format, and you will include no fewer than three sources. For the final draft, you must use valid, critical articles from peer-reviewed journals. Textooks, google, Yahoo, Ask.com, WebMD, and the like are not valid, critical sources. Instead, you must go to the library tab in SJR State, access the library, and search for articles in the databases. The website has an “Ask a Librarian” feature and a library orientation you can complete. You are also welcome to come on campus to get help from any one of our three public services librarians. You have already written a paper about your own learning style, which you identified through your use of the Career Planning (VARK) worksheet. Now I want you to think about your own results, your own experiences in school and at work, and find an aspect related to learning styles and/or Learning Theory that appeals to you for this paper. As this paper is only 4-5 pages long, you will necessarily have to narrow your focus considerably. Here is a list of general subject areas you might consider to get started: Active Learning Cooperative Learning Experiential Learning Mastery Learning Montessori Method Problem Based Learning Project Based Learning Peer Learning Visual Learning Auditory Learning Tactual Learning Kinesthetic Intelligence. This is by no means an exhaustive list. You may have experiences or interests related to the topic that you prefer to work on. Your biggest challenge at this point is narrowing the scope of your topic so it can be effectively discussed within the framework of the assignment. You will also be expected to effectively use the Academic Moves from They Say/I Say that we have been practicing in the Writing Workshops. You should view this project as the culmination of all the writing techniques you have practiced this semester. This paper is your opportunity to demonstrate all you have learned. So to get started, do some background reading on the subject. You may consult textbooks or the internet for this step. You are working to find a suitable, narrowed topic. You should follow the guidelines provided in Ch. 15 of Everyones an Author. Once you have identified your topic, your research must incorporate peer-reviewed journals. Ch. 16 of Everyones an Author has good information on how to begin your search. Begin thinking of how you will formulate your research proposal. Ch. 19 of Everyones an Author provides guidelines and a sample research proposal. Research Proposal A research proposal outlines your topic for a research project, gives your reader some idea of your knowledge of the topic, and provides a complete outline of the research process. For this assignment, you will submit a 2-3 paragraph paper that addresses the following items: h Survey of the literature: You will complete this step by consulting general reference sourcesXencyclopedias and the internet are fine, but this is the only assignment where they are acceptable. Provide the correct Works Cited entry for at least two background sources you consulted. h Summary of the paper hypothesis: What do you hope to prove with the research? h Intended audience: Who are you hoping to reach with this paper? Who would be interested in this material? In other words, how are you entering the academic conversation? h Proposed Schedule: A good place to start is the list of due dates provided on the course calendar. However, to those dates you must add your own schedule of deadlines for completing the process (i.e. research time, library time, writing plan, etc.).
