DUE Date vs DO Date
As educators, it is important to teach students the difference between DUE dates and DO dates. For instance, many students here at Ashford University have shared that they often wait until right before the DUE date to begin to DO their course assignments. Those same students have shared this practice always results in lower scores in the course.
It is important to learn to chunk tasks over several days to make them more manageable, as this creates opportunity for more feedback, input, and improvement.
Your mission for this discussion prompt is to identify which of the Six Pillars of Character you will access and how you will use the pillars to support a classroom discussion about avoiding procrastination and task management.
Explain the DUE date vs DO date principle in in your response.
Make sure you share the plan that you generate to and discuss how you will teach your future students to abide by the DUE date vs DO date.Reference

What are the interagency workgroups to which the speaker refers, and what is their role?Where can one go to find a complete overview of each Healthy People 2020 objective?

The SLP assignment for this course will entail becoming familiar with Healthy People initiative. To the end, you will be asked to view a series of videos presenting the key components of Healthy People 2020, illustrating how these are being implemented, noting data sources available to monitor progress toward achievement of Healthy People goals objectives, and recommending strategies for incorporating Healthy People into the work we do as health educators.View the second of these videos (https://vimeopro.com/aptrmodules/phlm/video/75910069). After watching the video, address the following questions:What are the interagency workgroups to which the speaker refers, and what is their role?Where can one go to find a complete overview of each Healthy People 2020 objective? What type on information on leading health indicators is provided by the National Center for Health Statistics? How is progress toward Healthy People 2020 targets measured?

What state did you select? What are the 5 leading causes of death for your State. How do they compare with the 5 leading causes of death for the US?

Go to http://www.cdc.gov/injury/wisqars/leading_causes_death.html, and select Leading Causes of Death 1999 to 2016 (ICD-10), National, Regional and State (Restricted). For Report Options, select your State.Scroll down to “Advanced Options” and select “Top 5” as the number of causes.Look at the column on the right, labeled All Deaths, to find the top 5 causes of death.Repeat those steps, but select Race, Sex, and specific Age groups on the Report Options to see how/if the leading causes of death vary among differing demographic groups. In an essay, please answer the following:What state did you select? What are the 5 leading causes of death for your State. How do they compare with the 5 leading causes of death for the US?Describe how/if the leading causes of death vary based on different demographic variables such as race, sex, and age. Be specific about which variables you looked at.Based on the findings for your state, what 3 determinants of health would you choose as priorities for health promotion programs? Would you focus your efforts on any specific one? Please explain how those 3 determinants of health affect people’s behaviors in ways that promote well-being. How do they affect people’s behaviors in ways that hinder well-being? Give examples and support your statements with references.

The top three causes of death according to the National Vital Statistics Reports are: heart disease, malignant neoplasms, and accidental injuries of which, the top two can be directly linked to smoking (Heron, 2018).

However, there have been national campaigns done against smoking for many years now and data has shown that nationally, the amount of smokers has decreased considerably (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2018). Looking at this community as a whole, the most important health problem for adults in the United States is smoking as the Surgeon General stated that the number one cause of preventable death and illness for adults in the United States was caused by smoking (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2014). The top three causes of death according to the National Vital Statistics Reports are: heart disease, malignant neoplasms, and accidental injuries of which, the top two can be directly linked to smoking (Heron, 2018). The potential for change for each of these problems is outstanding; elimination of smoking can perhaps reduce the rate of deaths from heart disease and cancers, and the use of safety campaigns and stricter safety laws and inspections from organization like the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) can possibly reduce the amount of accidental injuries and deaths that occur across the country. Obviously, smaller scale health and safety campaigns would have to take place on a per community basis so that the number one problem is addressed in that particular area in accordance with a proper development of a health program (The Community Toolbox-University of Kansas, 2018). Other issues found in these communities includes substandard housing that increases risk for respiratory diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and other related lower respiratory diseases and illnesses (Voyles, 2017).With the implementation of programs created to increase awareness in local communities for tobacco free zones such as businesses, restaurants, bars and other venues, these policies are helping Missourian owners to create environments helpful for their employees, customers and communities and increasing the potential for change for each of the problems aforementioned before. These policies were created to help local authorities to designed clean indoor ordinances and policies directed to increase awareness to their local citizens and lower chronic respiratory diseases. One helpful effort from these local authorities and municipalities was the implementation of websites such as www.breatheeasyswmo.org, focused to provide the most current information about policy and support programs in the tri county areas of Newton, Jasper and Joplin counties in Missouri (CAB, 2010). What are the most important health problems in this community? What is the potential for change for each of these problems?

For your SLP (Order 299558), you were asked to select a public health topic for which you would design a Health Promotion Program. Please share with us the following information: What are the most important health problems in this community? What is the potential for change for each of these problems? At a minimum, you are to use the course readings to support your response. Other peer-reviewed materials may be used to supplement the response. Please be sure to include references at the end of your posting.

What policies, resources, and circumstances can facilitate or hinder your proposed program/intervention on the factors you identified?

For this component of your SLP, based on the public health topic you selected in Module 1 SLP, please discuss the following:What behavioral factors influence the problem? Which of these behaviors are more important and which are more amenable to health promotion/ intervention? Which behaviors would you design a program/intervention for based on these considerations? What environmental aspects seem to also affect the health issue you selected? What are the predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors for the health behaviors you identified? Include any environmental influences. What policies, resources, and circumstances can facilitate or hinder your proposed program/intervention on the factors you identified? If you were doing a project in real life, and this would be a comprehensive plan, how would you gather your needs assessment data? What would be your data sources?

Why do public health planners need to conduct a needs assessment before embarking on any health promotion program/intervention?

Describe in your own words:What is a needs assessment?
What steps are involved in conducting a needs assessment?
What aspects of a needs assessment are important to its success?
Why do public health planners need to conduct a needs assessment before embarking on any health promotion program/intervention?
Briefly describe the 5 phases in the PRECEDE-PROCEED model.

Create a visual that shows five of the most important HRM-related issues specific to this employer and rank them in importance to their business success.

After you have read about SABMiller in Chapter 9 of the Bluen book (written before they were purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev in 2016), please respond according to the following:Create a visual that shows five of the most important HRM-related issues specific to this employer and rank them in importance to their business success. Your visual can be a chart, a table, a drawing, etc.
Then discuss in detail the top issue (#1) and your bottom issue (#5) and explain why you ranked them as you did. Finally, look up the company/industry in each of the following:
a. IBISWorld (under library search box on TLC page, click Additional Library Resources, then click IBISWorld and search by company or industry).
b. Companys website.
c. Two good articles related to HRM at this company (Google search or library search).
Review what you have learned from your research in a-c above, especially as it updates the case information in Bluens book.
Provide an introduction and a conclusion; cite sources; and include a References page. Reference: Bluen, S. D. (2013). Talent Management in Emerging Markets.
