one element of Western Civilization a person an idea, an event, through time, constructing a historical narrative

First, succinctly but thoroughly summarize your topic. What or whom are you writing about? Where and when did it happen? Be specific. Next, describe its predecessors- which things/people that came before influenced or helped create it? Then, describe how it influenced elements that came after it. what was its near-term consequences? Finally, describe its continuing influence, if any, today. The paper should be three to five pages, double spaced, 12 pt. font, Times New Roman, standard margins. It should also include footnotes, cited in University of Chicago style. Grading Rubric: Grammar, Spelling and Mechanics: 20% Proper Citation and Attribution: 20% Accuracy of Historical Description: 30% Insightful Analysis and Argument: 30%.

A work of art is the product of the dynamic interrelationships between the various art elements and principles.

Elements of art are the visual components used to make a composition. Principles describe the effects made by using the elements. Line Light and value Color Texture Shape Space any discussion of the artist’s biography, historical context, or your personal experience will not be counted towards the word count. You should list three examples of how each of the elements (line, light, space, etc.) and each of the principles (balance, emphasis, rhythm, etc.) were used in your artwork.

A good way of ensuring that your annotation is clearly written is to ask yourself, could my annotation be understood by someone who has not read the article’?

i choose reading unit 7, the link below https://journals-scholarsportal-info.librweb.laurentian.ca/pdf/08904065/v25i0002/143_lmldtscomaa.xml Each annotation is to be 500 words (maximum) long plus citations. Submit the assignment in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) only. Review the formats for acknowledging your sources with references and listing them in a Works Cited that are detailed under the Resources section on the course website. An annotation involves explaining what the article is about, identifying and briefly summarizing what the author or authors have to say about a topic. Your annotation should consider these questions: What are the key points? Is the thesis supported? What evidence is presented? Assess the validity of the thesis. Identify how the articles findings fit within perspectives from other feminist writers and theorists. Use unit lectures and readings to support and place your discussion within a relevant context. The final section of the assignment is dedicated to your Critical Reflection. Give your appraisal in a critically informed manner to demonstrate your understanding of the authors position and to make a personal connection to the articles content. What words in the article stand out for you? Why? Consider: Where does your opinion come from? What biases or experiences of privilege and/or oppression might inform your response to the article? Things to remember: Be sure to include your name, assignment and course number at the top left side of the first page of your assignment. Title pages, page numbers, headers, footers, embedded bibliographic formats, etc. are unnecessary and slow the grading process. Single line spacing is preferred to double spacing. Sans-serif fonts such as Arial and Calibri are easier to read. Please, no shaded text or text set into background shading. References locate the source so that the information can be checked. Review the requirements for referencing and acknowledging your sources using Parenthetical Citation. The format to follow can be found in the Resources section under the Contents heading on the course website. Articles and unit lectures should be listed with complete publishing details in the Works Cited (see the sample Works Cited on the course website). Edit your writing carefully, paying close attention to sentence construction, composition and word usage. Correct all grammatical errors before submitting your work. Dont miss opportunities to link the course concepts to your discussion. Use the material introduced in unit lectures and readings to support or round out your observations. Two additional sources are suggested as a minimum. This course was designed with everything included and needed to meet requirements. Use references to recognize where the information came from and where it can be located. Avoid vague allusions to course content. A common error is to refer to something pertinent without identifying the source. Opt for feminist writers or authors, researchers, theorists in place of the course manual says. The reference is usually placed at the end of the sentence in front of the period (e.g Luxton 89). If you are citing a secondary source named in a unit lecture, try: Smith writes that….. (quoted in WGSX 1005 unit # p. #). Remember, this is an academic endeavour. Thus, attention to assignments that are well expressed and clearly written while crediting your sources is essential.

CAM. PRINCIPLES OF BODYWORK: MANUAL AND MANIPULATIVE THERAPIES

Your examples for constructing the Syllabus, Lecture Notes and Handouts for the course you are designing this week have been posted in Course Resources. Let me know, as always, if you have any questions or concerns. Some students seem to make this a bigger project than it really is. Be sure that you dont do that! I do not want your Unit 5 project to get out of hand. You need a syllabus, lecture notes and handouts. You do not need a full script word for word. You do not need to record any audio or video. You do not need to complete an encyclopedic narrative of the entire realm of complementary health practices. Each class session of 90 minutes can include a 20 minute video (You dont need to provide more than just a link to some relevant video, with an explanation of how it fits in.), an in-class demonstration, some discussion time and perhaps a guided meditation or poem to recite at the end, etc. I dont want you to produce a full script for 90 minutes of lecture for all three 90 classes just perhaps two 20 minute lectures, with videos, discussions and additional activities to fill the remaining 50 minutes. All you need are the three documents mentioned above, syllabus, lecture notes and handouts. Heres another set of suggestions: Class, don’t over-think this assignment. It will be easy to put in 10 times the required level of effort that is actually needed. Remember that you should not completely fill each class session with facts and lectures. Make sure you have at least one video and some interesting handouts to discuss (discussion takes time, also!). Include some experiential materials and some time for discussion of how the individual students are relating to the topic and materials. You can prepare this entire assignment as a PowerPoint, by the way. All of the documents could be put together into one presentation, which could save you some time. Following are a few reminders: Remember APA format – for references. You need to cite references that you use in your lecture notes and for your handouts. You don’t need a separate references page or title page in this assignment – but do put some references in, or at the end of, your lecture notes and in your handouts. Lecture notes should have content, not just a general outline. However, you only need content (which could be in paragraphs or a very detailed outline format) for two 20 minute lecture portions during each 90 minute class. For the remainder of each classes, describe (and reference) any videos or demonstrations, discussions, games or meditation practices you will be including.

Explain their central arguments: Garrett Hardin’s “Lifeboat Ethics: The Case Against Helping the Poor” pp. 582-592 (We cannot save Everyone) either refute or support his argument. In order to refute or support his argument, choose another medium such as a film, documentary, or News Broadcast and at least 2 articles you find on Opposing Viewpoints as support or counterargument. Also be sure to identify at least 2 logical fallacies proposed by either side of the argument. Note this is a argumentative research essay
