Summarize your observations of the witness testimony. Analyze the effectiveness of the presentations. Finally, describe which factors in the presentation positively influenced the committee members.

Response Guidelines Read the posts of at least three other learners. Develop a list of themes based on the influencing factors they identified. Rather than respond directly to the other learners, create a second post in this discussion that answers the following questions: What are the prevailing themes in the analysis of the presentations? What seems to be the most important factor in an effective presentation? Based on your findings, what recommendations would you propose for individuals preparing testimony in support of a health policy issue?

Using either the signaling or the screening economic theory as an analytical tool as in Bridgets letter in Dear Undercover Economist page 14, write a two-page analysis of a situation that you identify.

This could be something that happened to you or to somebody else, you have noticed in a movie, news, or literature or you have observed in business. You may wish to review Chapter 5 in A Sequence for Academic Writing. I will look for the following items in your essay: ?An introduction summarizing the situation you wish to analyze. This part may need some facts to show that the situation exists or may exist and that it is worth analyzing. ?A section defining and describing your method of analysis (signalling or screening). Explain why it is appropriate in your situation. You may need to provide some citations to show how the concept has been used to analyze similar issues. ?Identify the elements in your situation that would correspond to the elements of the definition: who is the agent, who is the principal, what is the screening device or the signal, what is the cost of the signal for the two types of agents (he high-type and the low-type agents) ?The signal (or the action required in screening) should be too costly for the less able agent, but not too costly for the more able agent. ?Make a recommendation about how the signal or screening device should be chosen so that it can separate the two agents. ?What are the limitations of your analysis and what might make your recommended course of action go wrong? What other approaches to studying the problem may lead to different conclusions or recommendations? ?Avoid pretentious jargon? address an audience like yourself: students who have taken a few courses in various subjects, including economics. In addition to these points, I will check out the usual suspects: how original and interesting is your topic; whether the topic is relevant in other possible circumstances, as opposed to having very little relevance; how sound and well-structured are your arguments; how clearly you write, from word, to sentence, to paragraph, and to the whole essay.

Adolescence in sports

First and foremost, this is a research paper; after choosing a topic, you must use outside readings (i.e., readings NOT assigned for this course) to increase your knowledge and understanding of the relevant issues surrounding that topic. You must then develop and refine your discussion so that you can write a term paper in which you communicate your expertise. For the most part, the topic is wide open as long as it somehow relates to adolescence and sports. You may consider any of the topics we have discussed so far this semester, or any of the topics yet to come, or even a topic that we will not directly address in this class, as long as it somehow relates to adolescence and sports. I strongly suggest you choose a topic in which you have a high degree of interest, so as to make your research more meaningful to you (and thus, more enjoyable). You will find that it is easier to write a quality paper about something that interests you than it is to write about a topic that bores you. Your papers must be written in standard essay format (introduction, body, & conclusion), and you will be graded on both substance and style. They should be between seven (7) and nine (9) double-spaced pages, using 1 inch margins and Times New Roman 12 pt. font (or the equivalent). You must also include a separate page for references. You must use at least eight (8) outside sources: scientific or academic books, journals, magazines, and or online archives. You may also use non-academic sources, but a significant portion of your paper must be based on the scholarly sources. The papers are due on Tuesday, November 20th, by 5:00 p.m., and they MUST be submitted on-line to D2L. They MUST be uploaded using MSWord, .pdf, or a compatible format. If I (and Turnitin.com) cannot read your paper, then it will be counted as late (until you turn in a suitable format). It is NOT necessary to turn in a hard-copy. Additional Guidelines: 1. You must not plagiarize yourself. If you want to use part of a paper that you have written for another class, then you must significantly re-work it so that it does not get flagged as plagiarism. 2. Your paper must include a reference page in accordance with APA stylistic guidelines (it is NOT necessary to include an abstract for your paper). 3. Please make use of the librarys resource page:

The Feasibility of Anti-Corruption Initiatives in Saudi Arabia

Methodology/Theoretical Framework Assignment Instructions. Please review Professors instructions. I will also be adding some attachments. Professor Feedback and specific instruction This is clearer than the last version. I understand better what you are proposing. You are proposing essentially a meta-study (a study of studies). This is a legitimate approach, but it is important to be very careful not to merely review and summarize other researchers work (that would be a literature review, which is not original research). In the methodology your thesis, you will need to be more detailed and specific about the coding of studies, how you will analyze the coded data, and how you define success (since your hypothesis is about the success of anti-corruption initiatives). Methodology This section further elaborates on your findings in the literature review and concentrates on the gaps found. This section shows how the student will test their thesis question. The student will describe the data to be used to test their hypothesis, the methods to be used and the potential limitations of the project. See page 45 of the Capstone EOP Manual for details. Theoretical framework The theoretical framework develops the theories or models to be used in the study and shows how you plan to develop your research hypothesis or statement. Make sure to relate it to the gap you identified in the literature and the larger theory or model into which it fits. You should highlight the larger theory and how it fits into your thesis here but don’t forget to tie it together in the final conclusion of the paper. See page 45 of the Manual for more detail.
