After reading the content on the effects of poverty from your text (pg.31-32), and other information on the subject matter provided in the chapter, how will you assist families that may be struggling with meeting the basic necessities of life for their children. Provide two options you can use as a classroom teacher, and then list two resources/agencies from your local community that could assist the families. Please do not list Social Services, or the Department of Human Services, as they as most likely already using those agencies. Scenario:
A technologist is about to perform a small bowel series (SBS) on a 72 year old male patient who comes to the x-ray department via stretcher. The patient tells the radiographer that they cannot stand nor sit up due to recent left hip surgery. The patient is moved onto the x-ray table in a supine position & a preliminary “scout” image is taken. After checking with the radiologist the radiographer is instructed to “begin the exam.” The technologist fills a cup with barium, places a straw inside & instructs the patient to turn their head and “drink” from the straw. The technologist tells the patient that after the cup is done he will take a series of images. After approximately half of the barium is consumed the patient stops & complains of nausea. The technologist notices that the patient is sweating & begins to cough a bit. The technologist asks the patient if he thinks he is going to “throw up.” The patient turns his head & immediately begins to vomit. Although the vomiting quickly stops, the patient now appears to be taking shallow breaths & does not respond to the technologist. The radiographer hurries out of the room to find the nurse assigned to the x-ray department.

Your paper should detail what position the candidates are running for (what will the position require of the person who gets elected) or what the ballot measure does. You should then give a brief description of where the ballot measure came from (what issue is it trying to solve) or some background info on each candidate. The main part of your paper will include research on who is for and against the candidate or ballot measure and why they hold these positions. Finally, your paper should include your prediction of the outcome of the election. In order to make your prediction, you should research what other people are predicting for the outcome of the election. This is not an opinion paper! Your paper should be backed up by research and your conclusions should be drawn from that research, not necessarily what you want to happen, but what you think will happen given the population that will be voting in the election. You should read some articles about what sort of voter turnout to expect in this election cycle and show that you have some knowledge of what is going on outside of just this one race or ballot measure.
Many scholars have argued that there have been two major shifts in modes of communication, first from oral to literate, and then from literate to electronic. Write an essay giving a detailed and concrete explanation of the nature and significance of ONE of these shifts (that is, EITHER the shift from oral to literate, OR the shift from literate to electronic). In either case, consider as well the difference between writing and print as forms of literate culture. Pay careful attention to the social, political, and/or cultural changes that went along with these changes.
